New England is perfect this time of year. I think DH and I will go for a bike ride. We might take a spin over New Hampshire in the plane for some sightseeing. I plan on cooking something yummy with the Moroccan preserved lemons I bought on a whim. Tonight DS is coming over for takeout Thai food. Looks like a nice relaxing weekend here.

We’re back in local lockdown here ☹️🥺 I’m waiting on a yarn order delivery, I’ve made cake and we’re painting our bedroom. I’m hoping to crochet if my yarn arrives. Thanks for starting this thread jeremysgirl

There's a new puppy at our house so I'm just going to wallow in puppy happiness. He's a CKC Shih Tzu, 8 weeks old and we named him Raini.

I love this thread. We had a cool snap this week so I think our pool days are over for the year. It will be a quiet weekend here. I will spend most of it in my scraproom. DH will play golf and then watch college football. We will both be watching hockey. Go Stars! We'll probably get take out. I have been working hard and don't really feel like cooking. I am sure there will be a few beers involved also.

If the weather holds out, I will cut back my flower beds and get my big pots in the front of the house ready for fall. I planted mums on the side of the house and I saw this morning they are getting ready to bloom which is why I want to cut back the flowers I have growing there.

New England is perfect this time of year. I think DH and I will go for a bike ride. A bike ride sounds nice. We are having perfect weather here in Michigan now that the rain has cleared up. I have my windows open today. I’m waiting on a yarn order delivery, I’ve made cake and we’re painting our bedroom. I’m hoping to crochet if my yarn arrives. Who are you fooling? You will crochet even if your yarn doesn't arrive! I know you've got plenty of stash projects, my friend. I'm just going to wallow in puppy happiness. He's a CKC Shih Tzu, 8 weeks old and we named him Raini. We are going to need to see some picture evidence of this little ball of cuteness. It will be a quiet weekend here. I will spend most of it in my scraproom. The general scrap board is having an online crop on Sunday. I'm thinking of joining. Maybe consider crafting with the peas? I planted mums on the side of the house and I saw this morning they are getting ready to bloom I love mums. Do they do alright in direct sunlight? I have a perfect spot on my house where some would work. But it's nearly all direct sunlight over on that side.

Working in the yard, tidying up the lawn and doing a little bit of container gardening. Cleaning and re-planting our two Aerogardens, one for herbs and one for salad greens. Taking a drive through the forest and by the lake when we go for our weekly curbside grocery pickup. Going to the garden center right when they open to do a bit of outdoor socially distanced plant shopping. So, this weekend is focused on being outdoors, growing things, and enjoying Nature.

I'm seeing my best friend this wkend. We haven't seen each other in a year. This would usually be our girls wkend at a huge craft fair, but it's cancelled, but we are still getting together. Do some shopping and go out ot eat. We will be safe and mask, etc, but we need to do something. Neither one of us has gone anywhere basically since March. Oh, I bet you mean the Little Falls craft fair. I used to do that with my sister and mom every single year. It was so much fun. I'm happy you get to see your BFF. I just had a socially distanced lunch with my BFF.

I bought my Costco mums yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be cool and rainy, so I getting all my fall decorations out. I'm putting some beef barley soup together in a little while, so I won't have to cook all weekend. I will also devote some time to scrapbooking. Great idea for a thread, jeremysgirl.

I’m scrapbooking on Zoom with a group of friends. We’ve been doing this since the last Saturday in March. Some weeks there are 4 or 5 of us for a few hours and others there have been 12 in and out throughout the day and evening, spanning 9 or 10 hours. It’s been a lifesaver for me and I’ve scrapbooked more than I would have otherwise.
I have 5 or 6 bananas crying to be baked into bread so I’ll do that tonight or tomorrow. Sunday is grocery shopping and relaxing.

I started the day off by making Biscoff Rocky Road which is absolutely delicious. I’ve been getting a wooden garden building/summerhouse built this week, and my builder just finished a few hours ago. I’m probably going to spend the weekend doing the interior decor. I’ve been planning this space for several years, so I am beyond excited to finally have it! kristi, I’m curious about scotch cake. What is it like?

craftykitten , it’s funny you should ask for this as I just sent it by WhatsApp to JoP an hour ago! Biscoff Rocky Road I use Lidl white chocolate as it comes in 200g bars so you only need two. Enjoy, it’s irresistible. ETA the site doesn’t seem to be working properly at the moment. If you can’t get it to open, let me know and I’ll write out the recipe. 👍🏻

Cleaning and re-planting our two Aerogardens, one for herbs and one for salad greens. I started an herb Aerogarden a month ago and it's growing amazing for someone who has a black thumb. I can't even believe how great it's going. I'm putting some beef barley soup together in a little while, so I won't have to cook all weekend. Beef barley soup sounds delicious. And bonus is not having to cook all weekend!! Scrap away! Hoping for a nice long walk both Sat and Sun. A nice long walk is perfect for clearing your head and creating a sense of calm. I will have a good run tomorrow. I like running on Saturday mornings. It's a mental struggle to get out there but it always makes me feel so good, it is worth the effort. I'm 20 minutes from the beach right now Girls weekend! Yay! The beach and girlfriends! If you include some wine, you'll have hit the trifecta of what I'd consider a perfect weekend. I have 5 or 6 bananas crying to be baked into bread so I’ll do that tonight or tomorrow You haven't been around the dinner thread lately. A few weeks ago there was a huge discussion of banana bread and a lot of banana bread baking to follow. I, myself, made a banana cake, ate half of it myself and gained two pounds that week! Ha! I started the day off by making Biscoff Rocky Road which is absolutely delicious. I see you posted the recipe a few posts down. And man does that sound good!

This weekend is my mother-in-law’s memorial service. She passed away two weeks ago and her decline throughout the last few months during everything else going on was very hard. Her service will be at the lake community we loved as a family and have spent time at every year. So we will celebrate her life and search for beach glass on the shore which is one of my favorite things to do in one of my favorite places. This weekend is a perfect example of cultivating joy in the middle of heartbreak and carrying them both at the same time. That sounds like a lovely service. My sympathies on your loss.

What a nice thread!
It's a rare weekend for my husband and I mostly alone. We seem to always have family and friends coming and going. While I do love that, it's nice to be 'just us' sometimes, too. I made 'appetizers for dinner' tonight with one of the dishes being stuffed peppers using ones I grew in my own garden. Tomorrow, we are hitting a farmer's market, garden center, and towel sale at a local mill in the morning and then enjoying our pool in the afternoon.

I have some friends running their virtual Boston Marathon tomorrow, and I am running the first loop of 10 miles with one of them. Cheap therapy, lol. Then hopefully getting in some apple picking if the weather holds up. I’d like to get some fall mums, too. Enjoy, everyone!

I'm a little disappointed. last night I cancelled plans to have 2 couples of friends over for a distanced dinner in our backyard tomorrow. We have done this a few times with other friends. Set up a 6' Costco table for each couple. With two other couples the tables are set up in a triangle where the tables are far from touching, so the actual distance between couples is at least 12 feet. I'm very sensitive to smoke and our air quality isn't good for me, with forecast of it being worse tomorrow. Everyone else probably could have managed it... so I feel like a bit party pooper... I need to figure out something fun to replace that social time. Loving this thread jeremysgirl . I'm sure to get some inspiration here. Oh, and we'll be watching the U.S. Open finals.

I did brown the meat first with salt, pepper and garlic, but did not precook the vegetables. link

Labor Day weekend was my weekend of peace. I watched movies and read books and did very little and am paying the price this weekend. But by the end of the weekend I will have two new painted rooms: My son's bathroom and the laundry room. That will bring me joy! And I'm with you jeremysgirl, I love Halloween! I love the decorations! I usually decorate by October 1, but maybe this year I will go ahead and decorate next weekend. It's just so bloody HOT here.

Our neighborhood extended pool opening until the end of September, it has been so horrifically hot.
