Not in the car, but if I get out and go inside somewhere yes. I see people wearing them in their cars when they do curbside pick-up (in the spot next to me) and wonder if I'm doing something wrong... Me too! I see people driving down the highway, all by themselves wearing masks. I wear mine whenever I'm in public. I've been made fun of a few times.

Kaitlan Collins... ”Sounds like Dr. Redfield got quite a phone call after his testimony today. Trump says he asked him why he said a vaccine won’t be ready for wide distribution until middle of next year and why he said a mask could be as effective as a vaccine. Trump disputes both.“ I wonder if lots of people tell whoever answers their phones to tell him they are unable to take his call

I put my mask on when I get in the car and adjust it to my liking. It does not come off until I get back home. When I get home, it comes off and my hands and face are washed. The reason I continue to wear it even in the car is I don't want to have to adjust it again and get the "cooties" all stirred up and have to worry about them floating in the air in my car. I also worry about the outside part of the mask touching and contaminating the rest of the mask and other things it comes in contact with when it is taken off. But it seems like I am the only worrying about this.

I am so fucking tired of the stupidity.
Yes I wear a mask. I wear it when I am at work all day. 9+ hours a day in a mask, often out of breath because I am chasing kids and running around dealing with behaviors. I wear a mask when I am at the grocery store. I wear a mask into restaurants (the few times I have felt brave enough to enter them). I wear a mask while walking downtown if it is crowded. If it’s not crowded I carry a mask and wear it before and after I pass by some people. I do not wear my mask in an empty parking lot. For example, when I get out of work, there’s nobody else there. That mask comes off then. If I’m walking around my neighborhood, my mask probably won’t be on. But I’ll have it in my pocket just in case I run into someone and want to chat. I do not wear my mask in my yard. I don’t wear my mask at my inlaws house or when I am around my parents. They’re in our bubble.
I make my children wear masks. Even the 3 year old. My older children wear masks all day at school. 7+ hours in a mask. They aren’t dying from it. 😉. My children have to wear their masks when we take them out and about and to the stores and around people. It is fine, and it is not a big burden. The 3 year old fought us at first, but we just worked with her on it. Multiple exposures through the day, building up a tolerance to it, gradually increasing the amount of time she can stand to have it on. It is fine.
Put the damn masks on your faces and stay healthy and stop spreading germs. Get on board people!!!

I very rarely go in stores (I love you, Instacart), but I’m wearing a mask when I do. If I go through a drive-through, I put it on when I get to the pickup window. I wear one at my daughter’s school tennis matches, but take it off if I’m seated far enough away from everyone else. I don’t wear one when walking the dog or exercise walking, and I don’t wear one when I play tennis.

I voted yes, but the mask only goes on as I walk into a store. Not as I get out of my car and walk through the parking lot. It come off as I step out of the store. I don't wear it in my car, at the gas pump, walking outside or at the car wash. I don't wear it if I'm standing in line outside, I keep my six feet from the person in front of me. I've had a person creep up behind me in line and start talking loud about me not wearing a mask. In turn I turn right around and say, move 6ft back and mind your own. I'll comply but to a point. I hand sanitize my hands as I get in my car and go on.

I don't wear one when I'm walking alone outside. But I wear one anywhere indoors and if I'm outside on a busy street where I can't easily cross the street or walk in the street to maintain 6' distance.

When I need information on any subject, I look to the experts in that field. I don't look to a politician. Therefore, I distance from others and wear a face covering.
I live in a part of Oregon that is generally very compliant. I saw my first and only maskhole about two weeks ago at the grocery store, ranting and raving about how he wouldn't wear a f-ing mask . . . to no one. No staff or shoppers in sight.

If I'm around other people outside or going into a business, I always wear a mask.
I trust the scientists over this president.
Luckily, we only have 1 whackadoo in our family who thinks this is all over rated but even he will wear a mask-and then forward every conspiracy he reads about.

We have a mask mandate. I hate it, I complain about it constantly but I still wear it. I believe the science and I wish more people would comply. If everyone could just wear the stupid mask we'd be able to open up more.

Yes, I wear a mask religiously. I worked at home before the pandemic, so I really don't go too many places, but when I do go out, the mask goes on. We're under a mask mandate, but I would wear the mask regardless of that. I live in Arizona, so not always comfortable wearing the mask in the heat, but I want to be safe. We had to wear them when moving our son into his dorm, it was over 100 degrees at 10:00 a.m., but we still wore them! I even keep my mask on when going through drive-thrus because you can't guarantee a 6 foot distance. Overkill? Maybe, but I feel safer this way.
Our son lives on campus here in town (UA) and they're experiencing a spike of COVID cases because these damn students can't figure out that they live in a community and it's not only about them. Many are still not wearing masks when out and about and now there's a shelter-in-place for the dorms and apartments right near campus. Our son even wears a mask in our house when he comes and visits, only takes it off to eat and stays 6 feet away from us. We all had a possible contact last week (two difference incidents at both of our son's jobs) and we had to get tested. Older son and I did the spit test and youngest son had the self-administered nose swab and we're all negative, so the masks do work!

I wear one inside public places. I will wear it any time I'm going to an event that's outside and will be around people. If it's just me and DH going for a walk, I won't wear one.
I've noticed that people are getting lazy about their mask wearing. I'm hesitant in attending events in the near future. Some I may have to for my job. I'm hoping they get cancelled.

Yes, I wear a mask and have been since before it was mandatoty here. I do it because it’s easy and maybe it does some good, not because I’m convinced they’re effective. Our head medical advisor in Canada has never fully endorsed them. Everything I’ve read makes it seem doubtful that non medical masks are protecting anyone. But it’s the best we’ve got, so I’m 100% wearing them. Why wouldn’t I? Same except I’m an American and not a Canadian. But it doesn’t harm me to wear it so I do. Do I think it’s really effective? No.

My three answers: Yes I wear a mask I believe the health experts I believe it helps protect me
I admit that I did not wear a mask until it became mandatory. The vast majority of people also did not wear them until it became mandatory.
I think that going forward, even when (if?) COVID ever goes away, I will continue to wear a mask on public transport, during the cold and flu season at least.
I see people alone in their cars wearing a mask, which I find strange. You only have to wear a mask in your car if you're in the car with someone who doesn't live in your house. And seeing that we are not allowed to see anyone other than those we live with at the moment, it's not necessary. I take mine off the second I get in my car.

But it seems like I am the only worrying about this. No, you’re not alone. And yes, you’re right that donning/doffing, holding it in your hand between uses, pushing it down and then pulling it back up is all risky because of the possibility of contamination from what’s on the outside of the mask - and one of the reasons they initially said masks could possibly do more harm then good. Anecdote: My husband I both have masks where the fabric is the same on both sides. I’ve marked one side of my masks and check to make sure I always wear the marked side against my skin. Recently I asked my husband how he knows which side is the skin side when he re-puts it on a second time in the same outing. He got a very “Oh, sh!t” look on his face...

We've had a mask mandate since we started opening up again in May, so I wear a mask in accordance with that. We have to wear masks on public transport and in any shop or business - you can take them off once seated in a restaurant - so I pretty much put mine on when leaving our apartment to go shopping and take it off when I get home. I don't wear a mask when I go for a walk, as I am usually far enough away from people that it isn't an issue. I don't often see more than 2 or 3 people when I am out walking anyway.

The only time masks are compulsory in Auckland, New Zealand, is on public transport, but many/most people wear them when in public areas, shops etc.
I wear a mask when I am going into shops or am likely to be near other people. i wear glasses all the time, but don’t have any problem with them fogging up - I use fabric masks without wire and pull them high up on my nose then put my glasses over the top. My glasses hold the mask in place on my nose and don’t fog up at all, which shows that no breath is escaping from the top of the mask. My glasses do fog up if I use a mask with wire though; the glasses push the wire down and that causes gaps for the breath to get through.

I wear a mask. But - question about the last item in your poll. My understanding is that masks/face-coverings are less to protect the wearer than to protect everyone else. If I'm wearing a mask and I sneeze, the worst of my droplet crud is enclosed. If I'm wearing a mask but you aren't and YOU sneeze, your crud can get into my eyes and on my skin, and of everyone else in range - which is a lot further than 6'. Obviously if we're all wearing masks, that's the best protection. And now I'm going to finish the mask I started yesterday. I seem to have made them for everyone else but not myself!

The everyday masks people are wearing are to help protect the world from them. They are to keep your germs to yourself. Whatever is on the outside of your masks is also on your hair and clothes and shoes and car and the trees. Masks don't have any more germs on their outsides than anything else in your immediate environment or on your body and you're not creating a germ hazard to yourself when you remove them. Your non-n95 mask isn't effectively protecting you from anything outside of yourself, including anything on the outside of it.
