Has this been discussed? A woman was at a junior high football game, and was asked to put on her mask. She refused, and was told she either needed to put on her mask or she needed to leave. She refused, so the school resource officer tried to escort her out, she refused, and he tried to arrest her for criminal trespass, and she resisted and fought him. Bet it’s more inconvenient sitting jail than wearing a mask. Not to mention it’s more painful to be tazed vs wearing a mask.

I have just realized something. I thought this happened in Logan COUNTY which is close to me in Ohio. I misunderstood! This happened in the CITY of Logan, Ohio. I had it confused with Logan County.
Logan, Ohio is on the other side (SE) of the state.

It sounds like the guy taking the video was like, all this for a mask, like they should have left her alone. I’m like nope. Plenty of people have asthma and could wear a mask just fine. The game is like 2 hours. JFC.

The game is like 2 hours. JFC. Here, not even every parent can attend the games. I’m certain there were parents sitting at home that would gladly wear a mask to see their kid play. |

This happened close to where I live. Is there any update? Or local news with more info? My sister said she read comments on a news article about this. Locals commented that she tried to use asthma as an excuse not to wear a mask but she apparently smokes a lot. So asthma can’t be that bad. |

Ok so here’s my problem with the medical exemption for mask mandates...you can’t be asked to prove it because of HIPPA. So anyone can make that claim.
And how is that fair to the people protecting themselves with masks having to around people who refuse with that reason.
And If you have a medical condition that affects your ability to breathe, shouldn’t you of ALL people wear a mask or stay the hell home??? A lung condition would be a major medical risk factor with COVID-19.
The people I know with asthma and one with COPD have no problem breathing while wearing a mask.
I hope if she sues that she has to prove the medical claim in court.

It is the next town down from where I live. She was from the visiting school. Her ex husband made a video calling racists to surround the police station and the community is pissed off and standing with smitty.
Also, the cop that was charged (kind of) in the Breonna Taylor case is from Logan and is back in town so even more attention. Largely the area is pro-trump and anti-mask but hometown protection and pride are way more important.
There was a rally planned in support of Smitty that was cancelled and another that is holding the first week of October. There is something apparently happening then, but I didn't see what it was.

Schools, for safety reasons, are NOT open public access. They can make their own rules for safety and have every right to ask someone to leave if those rules are broken. If you refuse to leave it is trespassing.

My son plays HS football and we have a mask mandate for games. There is this *one* cheer mom that takes her mask off every game for the entire game and laughs about it every time they come in the PA system to remind the crowd that they have to mask up or the game will be cancelled. I am seriously ready to get up next game and wipe the smirk off her face.
These kids work their *** off and have a chance to play, ONLY if we take the necessary precautions. Do it for the kids, if for nothing else.
Not sorry the lady in the story got tased.
