awesome layout kellyr21 - I love your stencil girls! DD20 is feeling better. The plumbing is fixed - and for 5hrs of work, $350 was more than reasonable. Today was a very Mondayish Monday - everyone was tired, I think. But the candied orange peels finally dried and were good - and the banbury cakes I made using some of them were excellent. Both new recipes to me.

So glad everything is back to normal, Linda. No wonder everyone is tired after the weekend you have had! I get my flu shot today. Woke up to half an inch of SNOW on the ground, so hoping the roads are not terrible. Will drive carefully. Before my appointment, I need to bring up from the basement my crop totes and tubs. Hope to have everything packed and in the vehicle by Thursday afternoon... Leaving Friday, but hate packing and unpacking the same day.

Happy Monday! It is a nice day here and I hope to work on cards today. Oh yeah, I cut my hair the other night and ended up cutting way more than I planned! LOL! It is still long but in desperate need of a professional cut. LOL! Oh boy! I made this page in celebration of Monday dress up. I used that new Pebbles supplies I shared on my unpacking YT video. Love this collection. Celebrate Monday by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

Me too! She gave a rough needle. Last year I barely felt it; this year it was a punch in the arm. People are rushing to get the shot this year. I get mine at work, and the hospital ran out within 4 hours last week!

grammadee - good luck with the packing. Snow already? Drive safe and I hope the flu shot goes smoothly kellyr21 - lovely layout - you're so pretty and those lovely colours really highlight that photo! School went better today despite 3 tests (history, science, and reading). We finished our History readaloud and will start a new one tomorrow (George Washington's World). Looks like it'll be another late night for DH. I did get one card made and I'm working on a second - the card challenges are really really pushing me out of comfort zone this time.

joyfulnana, thanks for thinking of us. It is right above us. It's about a mile from our home to the base of the hill where it started. It has burned down the hill but mostly the wind has taken it up and over the hill. My DH was the Golf Course Supt of the course that was right on the edge of it. We had a lot of smoke at first, but as the wind came up, it blew up the canyon. kellyr21, I caught one of your videos last night and hope to see the other tonight. I love your stencil girls. I laughed at Don's response. He's so funny. I can't seem to get time to get into my scraproom. I loved the time I spent on Hangouts because I was able to be productive. I'm off to another appt. I'll be back later.

Me too! She gave a rough needle. Last year I barely felt it; this year it was a punch in the arm. People are rushing to get the shot this year. I get mine at work, and the hospital ran out within 4 hours last week! For years we had the same two public health nurses in our community. One could put a needle in anywhere and you would never feel it. The other one's needles always felt like they had been driven in with a hammer, so we always hoped we would be in the right spot in line to get the first one.
I was a little worried b/c this year we had to make an appointment at the pharmacy for our shots. But the pharmacist looked at me, even in my jacket, and said, "You have small arms. I will use a shorter needle for you." And I barely felt it! Aching a bit now, but not terribly.

This is probably not the place to admit that I haven't had a flu shot in years. The only time I seem to get the flu is when I take the shot. But I also don't feel like this is the year to mess around and NOT get one. I pick Abby up on Saturday and I can't wait! I had a delivery from Joann this week and that box is perfect for a cat to sit in lol. It was fun shopping for her too. I hope we get on well, we seem to be a lot alike lol. Linda I so glad DD is feeling better! That on top of plumbing problems. Ugh. When it rains..... It sounds like your student is independent lol. I'm glad the homeschooling is going well for her. nylene I thought you were in American Fork, and then when I realized you are in Orem and they were evacuating some homes, eeek! But it sure was close to you. I hope you are feeling better and get back to your scraproom. I'm finally caught up in the sharing thread, but not the gallery. I think this is the first time I've caught up in that thread in months!

I am so far behind on seeing all the scrapping projects this month. I don't know why I can't seem to get on top of things. I guess it's partly because I spend so much time sitting in the car. I can't go in for DH's radiation, so I am always waiting. He had an appt today to have a craftsman show him how to sharpen some tools he needs. I didn't realize it was going to take a couple of hours. More sitting in the car. I did take pieces to put together for some cards, but didn't take enough to do. I need to keep a stack of things to do while waiting, I guess. joyfulnana, I hope you and Abby get along great together. She sounds wonderful and is getting a wonderful "new mother". Linda, I was sorry to hear about your DD's kidney stones. I'm glad she is feeling some better. My son always has to have his blasted. He hates that because then he has to pass all the pieces that are sharp. DH has had his share of them too. Your DD is so young to suffer with this. I hope that this is a "one time" illness. Glad your plumbing is working now. You have had your share of troubles lately. grammadee, I made my DH go into the clinic for flu shots. They were really painless. She was a good shot-giver. We had to have an appt and we were the only ones in the office. As we got back in the car another couple was walking in. They are really being careful. Our Covid cases are sky-high and the Gov. has put a heavy order out until the end of the month. No more than 10 people together and they must be masked for social gatherings. He has closed a lot of indoor businesses too. kitbop, how is your shoulder doing? I'm sorry your flu shot was rough. DH said his ached, but mine didn't. How is the Covid in your area? Do you have a lot of cases in your hospital. Our big hospital is full and even made the national news for running out of beds, supplies and staff. BTW, we need your name added to the addresses for Pokey Christmas...unless I just skipped over that. kellyr21, I got a note from a friend on Scrapbook.com and saw your latest layouts there. I left you love, but haven't done it here yet. I will get to it. I did get some scrappy time last night. I couldn't sleep and decided I'd work on cards for birthdays I have coming up at the end of the month. I think I really needed those few hours of just quietly working with papers. msliz, can you tell us how you spell Hanukkah and when it begins this year? Thanks!

BTW, we need your name added to the addresses for Pokey Christmas... We have 0 cases in our hospital, and only 77 active cases in our region, population 550,000. Our province (population 13.4 million. Wow, my province is 4x bigger than Utah. Huh. Good old Google) has 9000 active cases. I think I added my address to the message thread that grammadee posted for Christmas! can you tell us how you spell Hanukkah and when it begins this year? Thanks! Yes...thanks for asking nylene!

Happy Wednesday! Want to hear a crazy story? We had a surprise last night! Last year, the night before my surgery while I was in my bedroom I saw the HUGE water bug/roach looking thing! Ron tried so hard to get it but that thing escaped. So we had to sleep in our living room that night! Ron put down some traps and sprayed and still couldn't find that bug. When we came home from the hospital, still no sign. After a few days, we didn't see it and I felt somewhat relieved. NOW, fast forward to last night ( a year later), I went to the bedroom and as I was sitting there, I saw something LARGE crawling up the white curtain. I yelled, "HONEY!!!!!" And that bug was still alive and crawling on my pretty white curtains! Ron rushed in and I told him to roll up the curtain from the bottom to contain inside the fabric. He did and as I was freaking out, Ron rushed to go outside. The bug was so strong it was still trying to crawl out the side of that folded and rolled up material! But Ron got it outside just in time and the bug was free to go bother someone else! LOL! Can you believe it!!!!! I am 99% sure that was the same bug but how did it live this long if it was? I think it got in from one of the packages I brought in the room from Amazon. We never have any bugs here accept for crickets now and then. SO it was the strangest thing. Oh boy, I hope that is the end!!! So I was a little wired last night but finally went to sleep and definately tired this morning from the stress and excitment. WHEW! Ok, on to scrapbooking talk! I did this page yesterday. I love how it turned out! I was gonna use the other side with is a vibrant black and flower pattern but when I tired this warm brown side, I liked it better. My Pink Dress by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- Waving hi to ya and hope you are getting back on your feet! So glad you were able to work on some cards. It is good medicine! linda- Thanks for the sweet compliment! Glad to hear your school days are getting better.

kitbop , we have your address, but not your name. Those on Hangouts know your first name, but the post office may want the last name too. I am so glad you are not dealing with Covid at your hospital. We had a bunch of crazy college kids come back to school and have massive parties. We have 2 huge universities here. The Covid spread was huge. Both Univ. presidents gave the kids strict orders, but it didn't do any good. They are still holding hidden parties. kellyr21, ew, I hate bugs, hate, hate, hate. Glad you got him out! Beautiful dress and beautiful layout. I'll catch it in the gallery.

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! Hoping you are all well and heading into a pleasant weekend. I will be spending the weekend with justjac! We are scheduled for a CROP in her city. Rules were restated in our last email. Tables will be spread out, and social distance maintained. Masks on at all times except when we are at our own table (and we each get a 6 foot table, so will be distanced there). Compulsory hand sanitizing upon entry into the venue. I have packed Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer for my table. I have all the scrap crap I plan to take packed into my vehicle. Still need to pack my clothes for the weekend. Had to put together a quick page for LOAD this morning. The prompt had to do with siblings, and I had not yet included my brothers in my book. Not easy to do when my go-to tools and adhesives were all in my car, but it is done: brothers by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I think I shared the page about my dad here earlier. Yesterday, I finished this page about my mom: Remembering MAMA by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a great weekend, Pokeys! I hope to come home with a huge box full of Christmas and Holiday cards. TTYL.

Happy Friday! It is a quite day here and a little cool. Not sure if the heat is gone yet but I will take a nice cooler day for now. Here is my latest YT video. It is a flip thru os 25 los I have made from March to September of this year. I have to give you gals a lot of credit for inspiring me. Hugs to you all! Link Herenylene- Sending you a hug today! Your schedule has been tough but you two are hanging in there. I hope you get some time to scrap this weekend. grammadee- I love all the family pages you are doing! What wonderful pictures and stories. Great job documenting these memories for you and your family.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! Slow morning for me. Have a little crop hangover, I think. I slept in this morning and I think I need more caffeine before my mind starts functioning on all cylinders. Need to complete a page for LOAD today, and I printed pic's for my October calendar page that I want to finish by the end of the month, but no idea what I will end up with for either one. My scrappy stuff is still out in the vehicle. And all my ideas are MIA. The crop was great. We have photos of our group, (in the cool aprons justjac made for us!) and I actually put together a page for LOAD with a pic of me taken there on Saturday. But I don't think we have a photo of the way we were set up. There were two banquet rooms, less than 30 people in each, with an almost closed folding wall between the the rooms. Masks on any time away from our own table. Each group was separated from the others, and in the group we each had a table of our own. Other than that one page, I worked on Christmas cards. Got about 50 finished. Left there full of ideas about the next batch I wanted to make. Should have written that down... What are you up to this last week of October? Loving all your creations, kellyr21, and have been enjoying your videos. You are a bright light! What crafty plans to you have this week? I am imagining you in a pretty dress, today being Monday. gramma, I have been loving your cards and pages this month. I see you have signed up for a November Team. Yay! How are you and your dh faring, nylene? You really did not need a wildfire on top of everything else you are dealing with! Did you pick up the kitty, joyfulnana? How is she settling in? And how is your family, Linda? How is your shoulder, kitbop? When I get my stuff in, I will photograph and share my cards. msliz, you will be happy to see some gnomes on them! And I picked up the Tula & Norbert birthday sets, with stamps and dies, and justjac and the other ladies played with them, but I was zeroed in on Christmas. OK, time to get moving...

Happy Monday to all! I am super cheerful this Monday - 7 days of work in my row, now I'm off today and tomorrow. So Yay Monday! My shoulder is healing grammadee. It's doing what it should when I view it objectively like a physio. It takes longer than I like, as does healing for any human being And of course my neck is all crunched up because I'm compensating for my shoulder, and that gives me "suboccipital headaches" (when it burns at the back of your head) which makes computer and scrappy time uncomfortable. Nothing life threatening! I'm jealous of your Christmas card production! I haven't started and need to design something so I can get the conveyor belt mass production business going. Last year I recruited DH and DS into cranking dies through the big shot. This year, I'd love to design something where the whole family can play a part in assembly. Your crop sounds awesome. Could you hear to talk, or was it too echoey/big? My hearing isn't bad, but in echoey spaces I'm a mess. Or at parties. I have a really bad time tuning out all the different noises and then I don't hear anything!

I have a really bad time tuning out all the different noises and then I don't hear anything! The venue was great. We could hear each other, but not as much of the conversations at other tables, which was good. The only hearing issues were when I was trying to order at Dairy Queen--through a plexiglass window, with both me and the till guy wearing masks --and justjac had to rescue us--as you would ANY old lady--telling each what the other was saying . If she hadn't we may still be there trying to figure it out--and they would still be behind me in line...

grammadee, it sounds like you had a wonderful time at your Crop. I am jealous of your ability to get together. We are really locked down right now. Alex is being baptized on Sat. and we are one of the 10 lucky people who can attend. Usually it's a big deal, with a luncheon with all family members afterward, but not with as much Covid as we have right now. Congrats on getting so many cards made! That is a great accomplishment! kitbop, please be kind to yourself. I hope the healing hurries and the headaches go away. So what fun things are you doing on your 2 days off? kellyr21, I was telling Angie about your videos and she asked me for your link. So if you see an Angie showing up there, that's who it is. I linked her to everything, I think. I'm sure she will find her way around to all of them. I am loving what you are doing. joyfulnana, did you get your flu shot yet? I was hoping I could hop on to the Hangouts yesterday, but it didn't work out. I got on the phone with our DD and the time got away from me. I have been working on Christmas cards while sitting in the car and in little spurts in my scraproom. I am almost finished, I think. I haven't posted anything this month, but have done some Halloween cards and birthday cards. I will probably just take the Easy Peasy points and may not get anything else done. I don't think I will sign up for November. I am just not getting enough time to scrap right now. I need to run and start soup for dinner. Have a great week, everyone.

Hi - I'm here - not scrapping or card making. DD20 is feeling better and has officially switched majors from English-Creative Writing to Religion and Cultural Studies. DD14 is keeping me busy with homeschooling. DS made an offer on a house - inspection is Friday. DH is home sick again - he sounds miserable. I'm perpetually exhausted because I'm not sleeping well - a combination of having a hard time getting comfortable due to pain and my brain choosing not to shut off.

Happy Monday! I hope you are all having a good weekend. Today is cool literally! LOL! I am all dressed up in my Monday outfit grammadee . No pink today but decided to wear navy blue. I am also wearing a silver long necklace I forgot to wear in the picture. See my shorter hair??? I cut too much last week but now I like it. Dress Up With Me Monday by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr This dress up day has been good medicine and fun for me and so many others. I just wanted to inspire others to feel the joy and hope. So many ladies had fun with this. One lady shared the idea with her coworkers and they did it last Monday. So, I look forward to encouraging others to participate if and when they need it. OH YEAH, my recent layout about "My Pink Dress" has been featured on Scrapbook dot com's gallery since Friday!!!! So exciting! Featured Layout by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr grammadee - What a fun time you and justjac had. I wish we all could of been there. I giggled when you said justjac had to order for you all! LOL! Thank goodness she was there! LOL! Yes, I am having fun wearing my Monday joy! It is sort of cold here some this outfit was the best choice. Look at all the cards you have made!!!! I was just in the gallery and saw gorgeous cards from you, justjac and @kibop!!! WOW! I am starting Christmas cards today and hope to get a few ideas worked out.

Wow Linda that's so good DD is feeling better and has changed her major! Good for her for realizing the Creative Writing isn't her thing. Sounds like you have been very busy and have lots going on. I'm sorry there's no time for crafting. kellyr21 that's amazing that you were featured on sb.com again! I love the navy btw. I voted navy on your video. Pink isn't my favorite but I love love love navy lol. nylene so glad to hear you are feeling better and are feeling up to making some cards. I think Alex would have been very sad if you hadn't "made the cut" for his baptism. Cases are up here too and I'm struggling with what to do with the holidays. I want to see both the boys, but I'm also leery of even that small a gathering. I do know they have both been taking precautions so it should be fine. I have not got a flu shot lol. I need to call to just go get it done. Man, I miss in person cropping grammadee I'm so glad you and justjac had such a good time. 50 cards! Wow! I piddled around during the hangout yesterday with not a lot of mojo, so nothing got done. I still haven't settled on a card design. But I have also been hanging out with Abby cat. She's so awesome. She has settled right in like she owns the place, and has gone from following me everywhere to being ok napping in another room. She did come hang out in my office for awhile today. She has no interest whatsoever in the laser I got to play with lol. She's pretty lazy and very affectionate. I'm so happy I adopted her.

Linda, it sounds like you are a very busy mama! I'm glad your DD is doing better and has made a decision on a Major change. One of my DD's changed her mind every year about what she wanted to study. It's a hard decision. Glad your DD feels good about it. I'm sorry you aren't able to scrap right now, but your paper will still be there when things settle down. I hope your husband is back feeling good soon.

I can see that I am not going to get time to upload my cards this month. I have only done 2 of the challenges but have made a lot of cards, mostly while sitting in the car because no one can go in with my husband. I cut everything at home and spend the waiting time gluing. I have made a total of 96 cards including all my Christmas cards.
I will be back on Sat. to start a new November Pokey Peas thread.
Have a great Halloween, everyone. I have no idea whether we will have any trick-or-treaters. I kind of hope not. We are seeing over 1500 new Covid cases every day. Still you see people without masks. Aargh!

nylene - I'm glad you can make yourself productive in the car, although I'm sure it's harder to do the gluing away from your desk, and still pretty tedious to sit and wait! Please stay safe and away from the unmasked people I have no clue what Halloween will look like here! I guess we'll have a box of candy just in case. But I don't want to put a bowl out because, alas, many kids will just take the whole bowlful. And I don't really want to encourage door to door visits. But I don't want to not give treats to those who make an effort! I haven't come up with a single option that satisfies.

Dropping in here quickly. Wow, nylene! 96 cards built in a car? Amazing! You can still count points for them if you don't share this month. Just count, per card, one point for creating it, then the score it earns on the Easy Peasy scale. So if it is a small card, then 10 points each, plus the creating point, so the least you will earn for your team is 11 x 96 = 1056 points! More if the cards are 5x7 or larger... joyfulnana, Abby looks GORGEOUS! Reminds me of generations of white cats we had here on the farm until the last one sadly passed a few years ago. They were the friendliest cats I had ever encountered. kitbop, I saw somewhere that people were planning to hand out Halloween treats with babbecue tongs. The host picks up the candy bar or whatever with the tongs and drops it into the trick or treater's bag. No contact! If you wear a mask and gloves, even less! Out here on the farm we don't usually get anyone coming to the door, not since the neighbours had little ones and would drive them over--treats for the kids and a drink for the parents--don't judge (all quiet country roads).

grammadee, you once asked what glue I use for making paper piecings. I have just started using Art Glitter Glue and I love, love, love it.I saw it being used on a card on YouTube and decided to try it out. I ordered through Amazon and got the 2 ounce, the 8 ounce refill and the metal tip. www.amazon.com/Art-Institute-Glitter-Designer-Adhesive/dp/B073VQQW2P/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=art+glitter+glue&qid=1604086964&sr=8-10 if you are interested. I have made all my cards this month with it and I am less than half way through the 2 oz. You do have to remember to put the pin back in the top and not leave it out for too long or it's hard to get back in. The thing I like is that it dries quite quickly and if a little glue gets in the wrong place, you can wipe it away and it doesn't show at all. It comes out in a thin stream and gets even thinner if you leave the pin out too long and can barely get it back in. (Ask me how I know) I kind of like having it in a very thin line. I understand you can take the metal tip off and put it in boiling water to unplug it if necessary. It works so well when I'm working on a board in the car instead of at my desk. It's easy to get glue where I don't want it and it wipes away with a finger.

Holy cow 96 cards in the car?! That's amazing nylene! I don't know how I would manage that, although when I first started scrapping I would scrap in the car. I have seen several people say lately they love that Art Glitter Glue. I am going to check that out! I had an attempt at Rudy sleeping over, but he decided he wanted to go home. That's a first for him. We were had a rough evening between me not giving myself a break between work and his coming over, trying to keep him from wallowing all over Abby - she's front paw declawed and they said she is good with kids, but I know if he is doing something she doesn't like, she might bite him. And she doesn't know him yet. He was more wound up than usual and we just weren't clicking together. He decided it was no fun last night and wanted to go back to Dad's. We've seen each other this morning and apologized and have agreed to let that night go! No trick or treaters here so no bags of candy either. Which is good I don't need that! lol. I've got cleaning to do and also need to figure out what I'm working on for today's hangout. Last week I must messed around with stamps and wet embossing. The mojo has been hiding. I hope everyone has a safe, fun Halloween! Can't believe October is on the way out already!
