Happy Saturday! Boy I am pooped out today. I had a busy week and got lots done. Also, this is the anniversary of my hysterotomy. I can't believe it's been a year already. Although, I am SOOOO glad I did it, this week I really started feeling the loss of my motherhood dreams. Before the surgery there was always some sort of hope but now that it is official, the reality was and is hitting me. I have been making peace with it over the years but this week showed me I have more to grieve and work through. So all hugs are welcome! In the mist of all that, I did get a new YT video out. It is an unboxing video of goodies I got recently. Link Herenylene- Oh my friend! I hope you are feeling better today! Take it easy and I am sending up some prays for you and your dh. Hang in there! grammadee- Look at the fun layouts you made. Going to the gallery to visit you there. kitbop- Hope you are feeling better too! Waving hi to you all and have a restful weekend!

(((((HUGS))))), kellyr21. Grieving what might have been is a tough experience. And anniversaries are hard. Glad you realize you NEED to grieve, and that way you can get through this. And I hope some of the sunshine and light you spread with your videos comes back to you so you can bask in it.

Time has gotten away from me. September, I was riding my bike on my days off for the Great Cycle Challenge. I had pledged to ride 100 miles and I got in 103 miles. This challenge is normally in June but with all the restrictions, they moved it to September. I take 3 weeks off in June making it easier with working nights and completing my goal. I felt accomplished that I meet my goal plus I raised $217 for research towards child cancers.
I would be doing the Rockin' Roll Bike & Music Festival today. I would be biking 10 miles then enjoying dinner and good ole Rock-n-Roll! I missed it last year because I found out about to it late. This year they are still having the event but I don't want to be around that many people most likely not following city guidelines. I decided to not go. I need to make sure to do this next year!
I have been relaxing once I woke up and enjoying a bit of Fleetwood Mac & now a little Bob Seger. I have been going through my emails, drinking coffee and chilling with the furbabies. 🐾
Earlier in the week, I called The Junk Pirates to have some yard waste and some broken items that was in my backyard. When I had my foundation fixed, they put a vapor barrier in my crawl space. There was all this wire and old junk left from previous owners of my house. It has been just sitting in my backyard. I have also had a wood pile from an ice storm in 2007. My parents was going to take the wood because they were building a house at the time but then changed their plans and had a gas log installed instead. I have tried several times when the wood was still good to have people haul it off with no luck. It had decomposed a lot and was a smaller pile but I still had a hard time getting people to want to do the job or they were charging way to much. This guy came out and gave me a price to have ALL my yard waste hauled away and the junk I had at a price I was alright with. They came the next day and had the job done in about 5 hours! I need to get out there and do some organizing of my back patio. I am so excited to finally get this done!! I have been taking time to learn guitar also. I ordered a guitar from Amazon that had good reviews but didn't cost too much to start with. I have been working through online lessons. I can't wait to work up and play some Classic Rock songs on my guitar!
Work is crazy! Then to through a loop in everything, it was announced last month that we are getting telemetry (heart) monitors for 16 out of our 36+ beds. I have never been trained in reading telemetry and have to go to 4 classes to prepare for this. They are all going to be online for 8 hours those days. Then I also have to get ACLS certified which will be in December. I guess the end of November is when they are supposed to install this on our unit.
I remembered the google hang out but had been working on my yard all evening and was dirty and tired. I hope to catch everyone someday!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

oh no kitbop ! I hope you are feeling better soon. And you as well nylene and that they figure out the right meds for you. grammadee I LOVE seeing you on your pages. Kudos for keeping up with LOAD. I'm pretty sure I would never keep up - ok I'm positive I wouldn't lol. But I hear so many times that the prompts are good for telling stories you would never have thought to tell. That always piques my interest. kellyr21 - Big big hugs to you! It's good that you know you need to grieve and are taking the time for that. It has to be hard. How cool that the peas are spreading the word about dress up Monday though! knutschen you have been busy! I have some large pieces of furniture I need to get rid of and just haven't done it yet. That must feel good to have the junk gone after so much time. Have fun with the patio! I don't blame you for not taking part in an in person event yet either. I'm still being very much a homebody too. Good luck with the guitar. I ordered one yesterday for Rudy for Christmas. His dad is a musician as well. I think it will be something Rudy enjoys. And saying that I'm a homebody, I've found a ladies book club that meets once a month on weekends. Meeting socially distanced in a park right now and over zoom this winter. Finding groups that meet on the weekends is hard, and my hours don't really allow for something on the weeknights, so this could be perfect. I also submitted an application to adopt a cat. I've wanted a pet for quite awhile and prefer dogs, but a cat is going to work better for my work from home life I believe. I'm excited about it! grammadee I'm totally in on a pokey pea card exchange this year!

Good morning all! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was pretty mellow. The girls were both here for part of the weekend. Olivia and I did a little scrapping together and Mallory did a couple of fluid art canvases with me (making those is my current obsession). I'm working on some as gifts for friends. The three kids and Ron went hiking yesterday, so I watched football and played with my art supplies while they were gone. Kitbop - you made me laugh with the professional advice and then taking none of your own advice when you got hurt. My ortho doc didn't send me to a PT, so I've just been winging it with the crutches. I'm sure I probably do it wrong. I do scoot up and down the big set of stairs in our house most of the time, but if I'm dressed for work and don't want to be adorned in dog hair, I have to use crutches. I have a scooter for the main floor of the house (and when I go out) and I use a walker on the second floor, so I'm pretty loaded up with the devices. I only have the cast for 2 more weeks, then go back to a boot again, which will be good. My toes and the bottom of my foot are still numb, so I hope it's healing okay. I hope your work schedule is lightening up and your shoulder is healing. Kelly - Hugs to you!!! I'm sure already have, but you might look into adopting from foster care. Our agency takes care of recruiting families in Indiana and we always have so many kids waiting for families, your state probably does too. Maybe God will open a different door to motherhood for you. My thoughts and prayers with you. Nylene - I'm glad Steve is doing well with the radiation so far. I'll keep praying for him, he has definitely had his challenges. It definitely sounded like you need to give that medicine a break, it sounds as bad as the issues it's supposed to treat. Hugs to you sweet friend. Grammadee- Love the LO's with the happy photos of you. Great job keeping up with the LOAD challenge, I would stink at that. I used to try to do Project Life...that was a giant fail...lol. Linda - I hope you got some craft time this weekend and that doing school continues to go well. I got Griffin (our son) to help me and was trying to do yard work last week. He cleaned up leaves while I planted some mums in the front yard...Ron came home from work and ran me off since I was crawling around in my cast in the front yard. I hate that he is having to do so much to make up for what is hard for me right now, so I was trying not to have to ask him...but I did get the mums planted before he got home. Hope you all have a nice day! Tina

Happy holiday Monday! I am sure glad I have an extra day this weekend. I really needed it. My shoulder is following the "rules" of the healing and improving. After Thanksgiving shopping and cooking, there is FAR too much yummy food in the house tempting me. I am definitely a food addict and have to be very mindful of what and how much I eat. For example, 2 cookies isn't enough. Better to eat 0, because if I have 2 that carb drive kicks in and it's TORTURE not to eat 8! I'm just thankful I have an active job. knutschen - congrats on the biking, and the cleaning, and the guitar! You sound well-rounded in your accomplishments. You'll have fun at ACLS and the telemetry training. I remember learning in school and being so overwhelmed - easier to learn when we do inservices in real life and can put all the pieces together. I love our annual refreshers on the tele unit. But as a professional who flits "in and out", I get lazy and simply ask the RN to give me report (why do the work again?) which mean my skills suffer. Use it or lose it! shinyhappytina - those scooters rock! I'm ashamed - I've been avoiding the garden totally, and you are planting with a cast on

Happy Monday! Today is a better day and thank you all for your hugs and support. grammadee, yes these anniversaries are tough. I am just praying, breathing and playing my way through it. Also, that Los Angeles Lakers basketball championship win last night did help. LOL! Whew! You all were right! My eyes are adjusting to the new glasses!!! I am able to wear them for hours now. My neck it definitely getting a workout. Also, I have been enjoying my "Dress Up With Me Monday" thread here on Two Peas. The peas have been enjoying it so today I kicked off the idea on Instagram. I will host it for just this month and see how it goes. I am kellysunlight if you want to check it out. joyfulnana it is so cool that one of our peas spread the word at the post office! LOL! I would love for this to become a "thing" as she said. LOL! With so many people at home still for school, work, or just at home it is especially good medicine, in my option. joyfulnana- Great to see you in the exercise thread! I gotta get my aerobics in today. I am behind schedule! LOL! nylene- Waving hi to ya and hope you are feeling better! knutschen- Guitar lessons, how fun!!! I took them a few years and feel like I want to pick it up again. Great to see ya on IG in the dress up challenge with me. shinyhappytina- Thanks for the advice! I am excited to see what sweet and wonderful things are ahead of me and my dh. kitbop- Enjoy all that great food and have a great Thanksgiving Day.

Two more pages with photos of ME. Hope you are happy, gramma. This one features a photo taken about 50 years ago: Independence by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And this photo was taken yesterday (the old woman, not the young blonde ): When Style finds ME by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Another Thanksgiving in the books. Just dh, me, dd, & dgs: smallest group I have fed for Thanksgiving for decades. Had our turkey dinner yesterday, so thankful for leftovers all day today. Dd and dgs are on their way home with a small cooler full of leftovers and the last half of the pumpkin cheesecake. Dh is finishing up some cultivating with the tractor in the garden and the house is blessedly quiet. Can I be equally thankful for having family arriving here AND for their leaving...?

kellyr21 - ((((Hugs))) be kind to yourself knutschen - wow - you have been busy! Great job getting all the junk out of the yard - I would love to do that (but DH has plans to take care of it himself...one day...) joyfulnana - good luck with your adoption application - looking forward to kitty pics shinyhappytina - glad that you're healing up - don't overdue things! kitbop - glad that your shoulder is on the mend as well grammadee - I also love seeing you on your pages! Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Peas!School got off to a slow and somewhat rocky start this morning since DD14 refused to get up when called. She didn't get up until after 9 (which is when we start). So between breakfast and a shower (that child takes longer to shower than the other 3 of us combined), we only got Algebra and PE done before DD20 came out for lunch. BUT after lunch she settled in and worked steadily through the rest of the assignments. We didn't finish until just after 4 - about 2 hrs later than usual - but no complaining which was wonderful. I didn't get much crafty time today by the time I got chores done, typed up tomorrow's assignments, made and ate dinner, wrote my weekly letters (six of them) and read my book for 30 minutes - but I did at least manage today's card challenge so I'm caught up still at least (yesterday I got caught up)

This month has slipped away from me. I haven't done the challenges and haven't even checked out all the cards and scrapbook pages. I have just not felt well. I saw the gastro. this morning and he is sending me to a surgeon. I am not happy about that, but I can't tolerate the meds. They made me feel worse than the original problem. The kidney issues are all related to this, so something needs to be done. DH is struggling with the last 2 radiation treatments. They may back him off for a while and give him a bit of a rest. If it's not one thing, it's another. Enough whining! kitbop , I am so sorry about your fall. Are you taking your own advice yet? How are you feeling? shinyhappytina , how is the foot doing? I could just see you crawling around in your garden. You are crazy, girl! You know that your DH would have planted for you! kellyr21 , I know how hard anniversaries can be. I am sending you big hugs. You have really taken off in adding light and joy into the scrapbook world. Thank you for all your positivity. I have really appreciated it. I love your new glasses. That's a pretty photo of you. I love your pretty hair! joyfulnana , I hoped to hop on to the Hangouts for a few minutes on Sunday and it just didn't work out. They keep changing our church times because our Covid restrictions have become more stringent, so I never know until I get the email Sat. night when our meetings will be. Our state is at its Covid worst right now. Linda , I need to check out all your cards. How is the homeschooling going now? Is your DD needing more sleep than she is getting or did she just need a "sleep in" morning? I hope that things will keep going smoothly. grammadee , I appreciate your setting up the Pokey Christmas Card exchange. You are so organized. I need to check out all the pages and cards you have done this month. I am hoping for a better week all around next week. gramma , I miss chatting with you on Hangouts. I hope Sat will work out for me. I am still waiting for my DD to send me photos of Brock with his dog so I can use the cute dog paper piecings. She just started working at the Elem school, so I know it has slipped her mind. I'll have to remind her. msliz, when does Hanukkah start this year? I know it was earlier last year. Oh, and also, how do YOU spell Hanakkah? I thought I saw a page you did that said Chanukkah? Can you let us know? Hope to see and chat with you on Sat. knutschen , congrats on your 103 miles on the bike. That is great and besides you made money for research. I'm glad you got the junk out of your yard. That really does feel good when you get rid of something bothering you. Good luck on your telemetry training. I don't do change well, but I'm sure that there are reasons for the change at your hospital. LisaDV , thinking of you! Hang in there. justjac , how was your Thanksgiving? Did you get to see your mother? I guess it will be just us and Em for our Thanksgiving since our state only allows 10 people together for a while. Hope all of you Canadians had a great Day. I will try to catch up a bit later today.

oh nylene I'm so sorry that you're still not well and that your DH isn't doing well with the treatments. You are both in my prayers. Homeschooling is going well - thanks! DD14 struggles with insomnia so she probably WAS tired but ... She's not super happy with me tonight - I signed her up for a virtual badge workshop for Girl Scouts (with her permission) and neither of us realised that it was a THREE hour Webex session. That's WAY too long. She sat through it all and earnt her badges though.

kellyr21 - TWO new videos? Wow - you've been busy! DD14 was as she put it 'my own sub' today - DD20 was woken up early this morning with severe kidney pain. We took her to urgent care where they confirmed my tentative diagnosis of kidney stones. DH took her back home to rest while I waited for prescriptions at the grocery - they said 45 minutes when I dropped them off but 45 minutes later, said it would be another 20, sigh. She's feeling somewhat better with pain killers, muscle relaxants, and antibiotics on board and has been drinking a LOT of water and gatorade. DD14 managed to do PE, art, music, history, and reading while I was gone following my lesson plans - I was very proud of her! We'll catch up maths and science and the rest on Monday.

grammadee, If it isn't too late, I would like to be included in the holiday card exchange this year. kellyr21, The dress up challenge was fun! I haven't gotten to far in my guitar lessons. The last 2 lessons, I need to memorize and then I think I will start learning some chords. I love your new glasses and the LO you did about them! nylene, I hope you get some relief soon! I had my yearly check-up with my doctor earlier this week and is having me to get a gastroscopy. He was going to refer me for surgery to get me off my heartburn medicine. It is a new procedure and I am scared of it. I completed Step I of Cardiac Dysrhythmias and passed the test! That is a lot of info to get in 2 days! I do Step II next Friday which is the treatment for the Dysrhythmias we learned. Then I will start with the ACLS prep course then the 2 day ACLS course which will be in person. I work a crazy schedule the next couple of weeks then will be on vacation. I have my vacation with a few things I need to do for work plus some things I can count for my portfolio for next year. I hope to work more on learning the guitar while I am off. I have been relaxing tonight. I do work tomorrow night.

Gorgeous work @kellyr, those ladies are divine. knutschen, I know the longterm use of proton pump inhibitors is terrible for us - osteoporosis/kidneys - is that why they want you off? Ugh, heartburn sucks. I only had it while pregnant, and that was PLENTY long enough. Linda, hope your DD is feeling better! Yikes, kidney stones at 20? And your homeschooler sounds like a great self-teacher. Has the schooling been taking most of your time? Tonight, after finishing a layout in the google hang-out, I decided to make "thank you" cards for all my coworkers, because the last months have been hard, and they've certainly "had my back". Well, many of them. But if I give some cards, I have to give ALL the cards. So 21 cards it is! I used a new stamp/die set that makes layered butterflies. I used a great time-saving hack by Jennifer McGuire and it sped up the process significantly. Helped a lot to have people to chatter with during the stamping process (thanks guys!)

It was good to chat with you gals this afternoon. Thanks so much for setting these up each week, joyfulnana. Would love to see your thank you cards, kitbop! That is alot of cards to do at one sitting, even with a "hack". How is your dd, Linda? Hope the issue has been resolved. Sounds really painful. Good for your younger dd to step up and be your "sub"! I will check out your cards and pages on flickr, @kellr21. They look gorgeous. I meant to ask you while we were on line how YOU are feeling, nylene. Do you know yet when you will be meeting with the surgeon? And now knutschen may be headed for surgery, too? Won't we be the cheery bunch! Still have not heard back from my surgeon's office. She told me October or November, and a quarter of that time has already gone by...

Hello all. DD20 was feeling better most of the day but the pain ramped up again this evening poor kid. Her meds finally kicked in and she's sleeping now. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for her. We're going to have to call a plumber tomorrow - water has backed up into the bathtubs. If it's not one thing...and why is it always in the evening and on a weekend? DD14 did a great job. Yes - homeschooling has been taking up a lot of my time - I'm working with her from about 9-2 (with a lunch break and a 30 min PE break)...Algebra - I go over the lesson, she works the practise problems on the whiteboard, I check to make sure it's all right and then assign the problem set, then correct it and have her re-do any she gets wrong. If she gets them wrong a second time, we work them together on the whiteboard. Language Arts - she doesn't have a lot of confidence here AND she's learning diagramming for the first time but with a curriculum that introduces it several grades earlier so she needs more guidence there and we're doing some remedial phonics in hopes that spelling will improve. I'm doing a couple of read-alouds with her - historical fiction that ties in with her history and then another - right now we're reading some WW2 historical fiction and discussing. And we do quite a bit of discussion with the history and science texts....so more time-consuming for me than her virtual school was but she's doing SO much better emotionally. Hoping to get some crafty time in tomorrow but it may depend on how DD20 is feeling and the plumbing issues. prayers for nylene and her husband, grammadee, shinyhappytina, knutschen and everyone else who needs them great job on those cards kitbop!

Happy Monday! Hope you all are well today! I am wearing my hot pink lace dress for Dress Up With Me Monday and it feels good. This vibrant color is good medicine for me today. See this thread to see my outfit. Link HereHere is a layout I made to celebrate all the gals who have joined me on Mondays. It has been fun to putting some of my favorites out of the closet and wear them just because. Also, it has been seeing their joy and hearing their uplifting stories! Monday by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Today, I watched part of a Heidi Swapp card class. It is full of pockets and envelops and it all fits inside each other. I watch 5 short classes today and I will watch the rest maybe tomorrow. I can't wait to make this. Link Herelinda - I hope your dd20 is having a better day today. Prayers for you and the family.
