People who are not team members can take on any challenge, and not worry about points. If you ARE on a team, count 1 point for meeting each challenge, unless otherwise stated in the challenge itself.
CHALLENGE #1: CARDtober! Each day there will be a new cardmaking challenge posted over on the stamping/Cardmaking board. Unless different points are listed in that challenge, count your points as follows:
*Create a card based on the challenge: 2 points *Apply the twist to your card: 1 point *PLUS: create the card AND use the twist for a bonus of FIVE points!
Completion bonus: complete at least one card for ALL the CARDtober challenges for a COMPLETION BONUS of FIFTY points.
Note: you have until Wednesday, November 4th, to complete all of the cards to earn the completion bonus.
CHALLENGE #2: CARDtober on a PAGE! Use any CARDtober challenge to inspire a LO. Apply the twist for an extra point.

This challenge can be done two different ways. If you scrap PL, that's perfect for this challenge. If you DON'T, that will make this more fun! Use as many PL cards on your LO as you can. #39: Día de los Muertos - while I know this day is actually in November, many people prepare during October by setting up ofrendas to remember loved ones. Create a layout or card in remembrance of a loved one. Sympathy cards totally work for this.

#41 - Sketchy Saturday completion challenge - I've noticed that Sketchtember is well "attended" but the Sketchy Saturdays often get overlooked! I am SO guilty of this - I print the sketch with good intentions but don't get around to them. So, if you participate in the first 4 Sketchy Saturday's of October 2020 (I'm not including October 31. That seems unreasonable ) AND post your layout in the Sketchy Saturday thread, you can claim 20 bonus points! #42 - Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice!!!! Yes, I'm a fan of the PSL So a recipe, for 5 points: Pumpkin - obviously, the colour orange! Spice - The yummy spice spinkles need to make an appearance on your layout: choose a splash of mist, dots/nuvos, or sequins. Coffee - caffeine anyone? Make your layout about something ACTIVE, outdoors, indoors, sports, dancing, but on the move! Whipped Cream - ooh, the extra level of whipped cream! Dimension on your card or layout - pop it up! #43 SPRING ICONS - for our Southern Hemisphere peas, who will likley get sick of our Autumn talk, take a point for using birds, butterflies, flowers, rainbows, grass or suns on your project. 2 points for completing a layout about Spring. #44 Fussy fussy - 1 point per image you fussy cut out of pp to use on your project. Die cuts don't count.

Thank you! Yes I am already sick of autumn talk haha! I'm not going to get many point for #45 Cha-Ching, because all the new kits are autumn themed with autumn colours, which I don't particularly like. So at least I can make up the points here.

I don't know about the rest of you, but due to COVID, and especially the last 2 months being in lockdown, I have hardly taken any photos this year compared to previous years. My Project Life 2020 is going to be very sad - nothing but photos of walking the dog haha! Therefore some of my challenges will hopefully encourage you (me!) to take some new photos to scrap. I am "stealing" some ideas from other scrapping sites. #46 Opposites - Take two words that are opposites and represent these words on your project. eg. happy/sad, big/small, light/dark, up/down. #47 Before and After - Do a layout showing before and after photos. It could be a haircut, dog grooming, when braces are taken off, weightloss, home renovations etc. #48 Selfie - Include a selfie on your page. Bonus point of it's from September or October. #49 The Great Outdoors - Take a point for each photo on your LO that was taken outdoors. Bonus point (per photo) if the photo was taken in September or October. #50 This Day in History - Pick a day and do a layout about that day. You could include information such as the price of milk & bread, #1 song, most popular TV show, interest rates, cost of petrol/gas etc, top news story etc. This is an example LO that I found online: debbiehodge.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/lynnettegrid2.jpg#51 A Few of My Favourite Things - Do a layout showing some of your favourite things. It could be 5 things you're currently watching or reading or listening to, a favourite recipe or outfit, your favourite people. Bonus point if you use the words "My Favourite...." on your page. (But you don't have to spell it with the extra "u" haha!) #52 Sweet Stuff - Include photos or elements of sweet stuff such as candy, lollipops, ice cream cones, donuts etc. #53 Tone on Tone - Match your embellishments to your paper/cardstock, so put a yellow sun on yellow cardstock, a blue button on blue cardstock, a red autumn leaf on red cardstock etc. Some examples here: Tone on Tone#54 All That Glitters - Use glittery embellishments on your project. Take a point for each different colour used. #55 Shiny Shiny - Use shiny embellishments on your project such as gemstones, foil, gold or silver elements, sequins. One point for each different type used. #56 Fasten It - Take a point for each different type of fastener used on your project (not including glue) eg. staple, stitching, paper clip, brad, eyelet Washi tape etc

#32 Shrinky dink! Shrink those photos! Use at least 2 photos on one page that is 4x4, or smaller. 1 point for every 2 smaller photos. Can this be adapted for those (like me, teehee) working on a 4x4 mini album? Is 1 4x4 or smaller photo sufficient for this format? #50 A Day in the Life - Do a LO about your daily life, such as daily rituals, homeschooling, working from home Any extra rules because us October Daily folks will be able to reap a point very often for this?

#57 Current Events | Include current events on your project. It doesn't need to take centre stage, a mention in journaling or the newspaper headline included in the background will suffice. Cardmakers, a sentiment about staying safe and/or healthy is good!

I notice we have no #8??? So, without further adieu - #8 - ART IT UP - mixed media - any use of INK, PAINT, MISTS etc on your layout will net you a point. 1 point per product type actually! Also - gramma - can you clarify challenges #19 and 20 (Way Back, and Way Way Back) - are you including anything that was posted in the challenge thread, or are you only referring to the "larger" Monthly challenges (like the Donna Challenge etc)? #58 Be Edgy - Give an edge some attitude - a torn edge, an outlined edge, an inked edge, a punched edge. 1 point each technique. #59 Labels, Tags, Banners, Flags - 1 point for each (so if you use a tag, and have a banner on your page = 2 points) #60 Write the story - 1 point for over 25 words of journaling, 2 points for over 50 words. Bonus point if it's on journaling strips.

#50 A Day in the Life - Do a LO about your daily life, such as daily rituals, homeschooling, working from home Any extra rules because us October Daily folks will be able to reap a point very often for this? Hmmm, I think I will change mine, it's probably too similar. I have to admit that I didn't even open the October Daily thread, because it would just make me feel guilty that I gave up on December Daily after about five days! ETA: I have changed mine to be "This Day In History"

I haven't paper scrapped for about 9 years, and I still have a ton of gorgeous patterned paper that I didn't want to waste and was saving for just the right project. It's never going to be used now. USE IT, people!
