My friend just asked me to help her on her hunt. Apparently it was discontinued last year. She has a wee bit left that she is rationing BUT she loves the scent because it reminds her of her late mother  She and I have been commiserating about missing our moms lately and I would love to be able to give her this gift!! I have been looking online and eBay has it for $300. Sounds like a bargain  We all know if you want to find something unavailable, you ask here. If you guys can't find it, it cannot be found. Period. It’s funny that I see this post now! I recently moved and my new street is St. Tropez. When I say it(the correct way, like they do on the commercial)😀, no one knows what I’m saying. I’m forced to say Tro-Pez.
I think of that sun tan gelée every single time, and no one knows what I’m talking about, if I say it aloud! 😀

I went down an internet rabbit hole and learned Bond No 9 Fire Island perfume was inspired by Ban de Soleil but...it’s over $200.

Could you identify the scent? If she just wants the scent, you might be able to order some sunscreen or beach scented oils from Etsy, that she could diffuse or add to unscented lotion, that are close enough. Lots of sellers take custom orders and will research the scent to replicate it. Good luck.

This seems like a reasonable price but I'd use caution ordering from this site. If you look at the "about us" page, they haven't put any information and the "blog posts" page is still in the Shopify default state as well, and looks like the site may have only been created in August. I built my website on Shopify (beads!) so I am pretty familiar with the platform/interface. This one just looks suspicious to me. Then again, if you pay via paypal or CC, you do have protection if you don't receive items you purchase. The Shopify merchant doesn't ever see your payment information so that should not be a concern. OP, I'd suggest you keep your eye out in places where discontinued products often show up...TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ross, Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, etc. |
