I just want to give a little update as there has been some confusion, obviously I think (hope) that by now everyone has received the original email I sent out the other day. It has the participants' mailing info, as well as the December holiday(s) they celebrate. If you have not received it please check your spam folder. If you still cannot find it, please privately message me with another email option for you. So far there seems to have only been an issue with two of the participants and both used hotmail accounts. gemini_jen is going to work on formatting the addresses into labels and I will send them out shortly as well as post here to let you know to look for them. It has the participants' mailing info, as well as the December holiday(s) they celebrate. If you have not received it please check your spam folder. If you still cannot find it, please privately message me with another email option for you. We have a full spreadsheet, with pivot tables of when people are coming, where people are sleeping, what activities are planned, etc. I wasn’t kidding when I said this project actually made me happy (it was on my list of gratitudes last night!) - I love this kind of stuff!! 🤣 |

We have a full spreadsheet, with pivot tables of when people are coming, where people are sleeping, what activities are planned, etc. I wasn’t kidding when I said this project actually made me happy (it was on my list of gratitudes last night!) - I love this kind of stuff!! 🤣 We all have our talents! Well I'm working on the cards.  I'm aiming to send out the overseas Peas their cards next week. I'm not kidding. The mail is going to be so unpredictable.this year with more opting to buy stuff online. Then I'll work on getting the USA ones done and sent out. And lastly my fellow Canadians. Though I have a friend who lives in my country but different province. She claimed she sent me a Christmas card last year. I thought she forgot. Then in June, guess what showed up! YEP. Must've took the long route.  |

First of all, thank you for organizing this and being so responsive to the Peas input. I was really excited about this, especially this year when some happy mail would be a welcome event in my boring days. I haven't participated in the other exchange because of privacy concerns. But first I have to vent about the Post Office: I went on line and completed the application for my first P.O. Box. As soon as my local PO opened this morning, I went in to show the required two forms of ID and pick up the key. The clerk took a long time and then said that the number the computer assigned me was already in use and she wasn't able to assign another one since I had paid online. When I asked to see a supervisor she said there was none that could help me. So I left and called USPS customer service and had to go through 4 minutes of recorded messages and waited 40 minutes for a rep. The first rep was unable to help and transfered me to the help desk. The help desk said that they couldn't help and told me to go to my local PO! When I told her that I had been there she at least offered to send them a trouble ticket. She put me on hold while she wrote it up, but after several minutes I WAS DISCONNECTED. Thanks for listening to my vent. I hope I will be able to resolve this PO Box issue next week because I really, really want to participate! UPDATE: I am in!!! I just returned from the Post Office. I was able to cancel my online application and filled in the application in person. Fortunately, I there was a different clerk at the window that knew what to do. It took about 20 minutes and I felt bad for people that got stuck behind me in line, but it was worth it. I have already been making cards so I am excited. P.S. I never got a response to the trouble ticket I submitted on Friday. Another update to my Post Office saga: On October 20th I filled out an online change of address to forward my cards from the PO box to my home address thinking it would be safer than going into the post office to keep checking the box. Today (10 days later) I got a call asking me if I really wanted to forward my mail. The clerk said that the mail would be sent from my local post office in CT to the processing center 140 miles away in Massachusetts. No wonder the mail is so screwed up. |
