Ouch! That is really bad. Thank God is wasn't worse. Kim should not own that dog, she is a mess and can't handle a dog of that caliber. Poor girl will have scars forever now.

That dog always made me nervous because even her dog trainer had a tough time handling him.

Oh no! Poor thing! I haven't read the article yet but I hope poor thing's injuries aren't too bad!
OMG and its so ironic, at the last reunion Andy asked Kyle if she was nervous for KIM around that dog and Kyle said she was afraid she'd get a call someday that the dog attacked her!
Why on earth was her daughter around that awful, vicious dog?! Ugh, how horrible for them! Off to read..

Thank god it wasn't worse than it was. They say authorities weren't called, here if a dog bite victim goes to the doctor or ER they have to report it.

I hope Alexia has a good result from the surgery. Hand surgery is so difficult even when you have an excellent surgeon because there are so many tiny bones in your fingers and hands.
I am an animal lover, and it would kill me but I would put my dog down if it attacked someone w/out provocation, especially a dog that powerful. When I first saw the headline, I thought maybe Kyle's youngest daughter had accidently provoked the dog and been attacked. What a sad story. I feel badly for everyone.

Here is the article from Reality Tea:
A few days ago we explained to you why Kyle Richards’ daughter was having a hospital slumber party with mom and all of her sisters. At the time Kyle simply explained that her daughter, Alexia Umansky, had been attacked by a dog and the injuries required surgery.
But now we have learned that it was actually Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards’ — Kyle’s sister — beloved pit bull, Kingsley, that attacked Alexia.
When Kyle posted the pictures from the hospital, she simply explained, “Regarding Alexia: She was attacked by a dog and has to have surgery. As always , she is trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Thank you for your thoughts & well wishes.”
But now, TMZ is reporting that it was actually Aunt Kim Richards’ pup that injured Alexia. Apparently Kyle, Alexia and other family members were at Kim’s house when Kingsley attacked Alexia out of the blue.
Kingsley’s inability to behave has been well-documented on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — even attacking a trainer on screen that was brought in to help with his bad behavior.
Kingsley bit Alexia multiple times, damaging her right thumb the worst. The damage required Alexia to spend the weekend at the hospital and undergo two separate surgeries.
As for Kingsley, the authorities were never called. Here’s hoping Kim can get her dog under control before someone is hurt worse.

I KNEW that dog would cause trouble. Kim is a complete simpleton and she is absolutely unable to control that dog (and herself!) The show that they featured Kim and the dog I swear she said the name "Kingsley" about a hundred times. It was so affected it was ridiculous. The dog acted aggressive with the trainer standing right there. I have a tiny meek dog so I don't know squat about aggressive dogs but that was CLEAR AS DAY. Now they will be a big upset about putting the dog down and Kim crying and wailing "Kingsley, Kingsley" and not wanting to do it.

The article said that the dog is still at Kim's house. This has to be a deal breaker for Kyle, get rid of the dog or else.

The first time I saw the dog and the interaction with Kim, I knew it wasn't going to go well. You have to be a pack leader (to quote Cesar) ... bully breeds need to know where they stand. Because of their protective nature you HAVE to assert and be able to control them.
I thought the trainer was a jerk - the way he approached was all wrong. Good he took the dog away, but as soon as she got the dog back, her behavior was the same. I don't get why she wanted that type of dog at all. She's a hot mess.
I'm hoping a responsible trainer will come in and take it away for good. However, knowing Bravo, the dog will most likely pay the price for an idiotic owner.

It's people like Kim that are doing damage to this beautiful breed. One bad pitbull story can undo 100's of good stories. Also didn't this dog lunge at her when she was home recouperating from her nose surgery. She said it was an accident, but now we see differently

I'm glad it was her hand and not her face. And I'm glad it was Alexia and not little Portia. I agree! So glad it wasn't anyone's face or little Portia. Have to say though, as a pianist, I would have been really upset to have hand damage! It's usually a given that years later after damage, arthritis is likely to settle in.

I'm glad it was her hand and not her face. And I'm glad it was Alexia and not little Portia. Me too. How sad is that? I'm glad it was your beautiful young daughter's hand that was damaged enough to require two immediate surgeries, because that was the better scenerio. Pit bulls are unstable and their behavior unpredictable around people. They are not a typical house pet breed and should not be kept as such. I've heard far too many stories to ever consider them anything but fighting machines that should never be kept as family pets.

I thought that was THE weirdest trainer ever. He took the dog away for a week or more I've never heard of this?!
He said he needs to be with other dogs. (I didn't think that was the root issue, but I'm not there, what do I know.?)
Then, and I don't remember the whole situation, but I remember thinking it was so odd, when he brought the dog back to her house, he still left maybe a muzzle on him. And was saying, "look, look, he's still cowering." YEah, dude, take the muzzle off. He's home now. Let him acclimate.
I thought that "trainer" was an idiot.
I was hoping she got someone else after him.
I thought he was just there to be on tv.

I don't know if it varies county to county in CA, but that is what happened to our friends in San Diego. Their dog bit their daughter & she needed stitches. The dog was quarantined in their house for a month IIRC and if she bites again she will be put down. It was the ER that reported to Animal Control.

Maybe BRAVO will do a crossover episode with Cesar training the dog and teaching Kim how to take proper care of Kingsley.

My once brought home a pregnant pit bull and I fell in love with one of the pups. Lulu was very well trained and won obedience awards and was very loved. I trusted her around my young son and other children...until she latched on to my neighbor's knee. All my neighbor did was ring the doorbell to see if I had any celery for her soup. When I could not get my dog off of her knee, I knew something had to be done. There were no options...even though animal control said we could guarantee her at home. Needless to say, my son still believes that she lives at a farm "up North". Pit Bulls are an unreliable breed.

ETA: I have taken a few deep breaths. ANY dog has the capability to bite or attack someone. It comes down to being a responsible dog owner, and it sounds like this was not the case here. Pitties are strong, smart, and loyal to a fault. This is what lead to their evolution from nanny dogs to fighting. They will do anything to please their owner. Makes me sad that evil monsters abuse this quality.

Pits can be especially determined when they do attack and this makes them ferocious fighters. That's a risk that makes me think they aren't the best breed (in general) as a family pet. That's my opinion. That means that I won't own a pitbull as a family dog. If you feel comfortable having pits, fine by me. Lots of people love them and I wish you nothing but wonderful, happy days with your dog.

I think they're filming right now, I wonder if any of this will air on the next season of rhobh? I really hope not bc I'm so sick of seeing pitties dragged through the mud and typecast as evil, vicious, no good dogs when it's the owner to blame. All dogs need proper training, care, and to know who their leader is so that they do not feel the need to take on the roll. So many times, I would say 90% of the time, it's owners who cause and create problems in their dogs without realizing it, and then the dog suffers the consequence. Let me be clear, I think it's awful that someone was bit, this dog needs to be removed from Kim's home and hopefully rehabilitated and trained properly. I pray that all the damage she did as an owner can be undone.
