Are you giving out candy tonight-and how?

Did last night - spread candy out on a table, sat several feet back from it (outside, bundled up at end of driveway), restocked table as needed. Got to see some costumes, kids weren't reaching into a bowl and I was outside and several feet away from all of them. Mostly just the neighbor kids I see out walking anyway, none of them were close to me and not for more then a couple mins.

My husband made a long pipe shoot spray painted black then spray painted candy corns on it so that he will be standing back at least 6 feet with a mask on and send candy down the pipe so hopefully this will go well. I am standing inside watching.

We made a last minute decision to get candy today. We’re too decorated not to have treats! We put a few pieces in brown lunch sacks that we decorated and tied up with cute ribbon. We’re putting them in buckets outside and when they’re gone, they’re gone. We really didn’t have many kids last year so I’m not expecting more than a handful.

I put candy in bags and we will be setting them on a long table at the end of our drive way. We are going to sit inside our garage with the door open to see the costumes.

I just set out a table with six piles and a cute sign that says to take a pile. I’ll keep restocking the little piles but I’m not opening the door when anyone is on the porch.

Ours was last night--we just put the candy in the kids' buckets after they knocked on the door. We don't normally have a lot of kids, but enough to justify turning our light on and having candy on hand. If we had more I might have tried setting up the candy chute idea or made up bags, but it wasn't even worth me sitting outside even though it was a decent evening. We had less than half as we normally do, but others in the neighborhood had more than normal. Others still tried putting out a bowl with a sign saying "one per kid"...yup, the bowl was emptied within 20 minutes by one kid.

I'm giving it out. I know my hands are washed and I can sanitize them as well.

Don't need kids sticking their hands in my bowl and passing it to the next kids who come along

DH is relaxing on the porch with a beer and a mask at the ready in case, do as not to make anyone nervous. His mother came over. There is candy in a bowl on a table. I'm off to work, unfortunately. I love seeing all the costumes!

Two doors down they have a warming table set up with drinks and candy.

Someone made a candy chute to deliver candy to the kids, looks like a really cute idea.

I don't think we'll get many, but we have a table at the foot of our front porch steps with well spaced apart full size candy bars.  Dh normally goes way overboard with Halloween decorations (fog machine, lightening flashing lights, scary music, grave yard, lots of zombies and witches.)  He's put us a few things, just so kids know they can stop if they want to.

We decided to not give out candy this year. We usually get almost 200. So many things are different this year.

Yes, we have it laid out on our large planter. The kids can come up and pick one.

I wish we would have had more. It felt good. It felt normal. It was nice

I put a card table out on our lawn with some spooky decorations and snack bags with 3-4 small assorted candies.

Our town's ToT was from 6-7:30. We were out of town for a while and didn't get home until 6:50. We tossed a bowl of candy on the porch and turned the light on. We got about 10 kids. They were respectful.
