This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

I'm sorry this is late today. I meant to post it on Saturday and it slipped my mind. I hope you all had a fun Halloween. We had a lot of trick-or-treaters. I used grammadee 's idea of handing out treat with tongs. Everyone (including us) wore masks and the kids were good about not reaching for the bowl. gramma , thanks for the info about the little bottles. I tried a regular sewing pin in one of my old glue bottles and it also rusted. I have been very careful not to lose the stainless steel pin that came with my new Art Glitter glue. I hope it will not rust. joyfulnana , I am sorry about Rudy getting scratched. Has it made him afraid of her? I hope they are still friends. Did he get to do anything fun for Halloween? Be back later to chat.

Thanks, nylene, for starting us up for this month. I hope you get a little time to just relax this month. Can't believe you put together almost 100 cards sitting in a car! Our Halloween was quiet, as usual. Dd and ddil sent some fun pic's yesterday, so I will still be able to scrap it. Still working on holiday cards. And setting up, with kitbop and joyfulnana, some what I hope will be fun activities for the Count Your Blessings crop this upcoming weekend. Got to play with some new Hunkydory that came in the mail on Friday. Their books have gorgeous artwork, and the pages are really thin and light, so they don't add weight to the cards. Also got some "Sticky Specks"--sheets of tiny glue dots with an acetate cover. You lift up the acetate, drop down your diecut, press it between the two layers, then pull it off the backing. Glue is supposed to stick only on the diecut, so should be less messy than some of the others I have tried. Hoping it will be like using a Xyron sticker maker, with a little less stickiness at the edges? I need to diecut something delicate to try it out. I know I need to get organized for Christmas, but this year, I can't seem to get into baking and gift buying like I usually do. Guess I will keep plugging away with the cards, and hope they motivate me to get some Christmas spirit... Also need to get my house cleaned up for the house cleaner (How is that for irony?) She was supposed to come tomorrow, but texted today to ask if Thursday would work. So at least I have a bit more time to prep. Wanna bet I leave it til the last minute???

grammadee, do you have your surgery scheduled? BTW,I made about 25 cards in my scraproom. All the interactive ones were made early in the month. The rest were all cut at home and glued and embellished in the car. It's getting too cold to sit in the car very long now. I'm not sure what I will do. I hate to run the heater for more than a few minutes because our air quality is bad. I could always go shopping, but we are in a Pandemic. Crazy. I had to giggle about your cleaning before the house cleaner comes...I would be doing the same thing. LOL

I think that is another thing that is keeping me in LIMBO right now, nylene. Have not heard from my surgeon about my surgery. Rational thought would say I should be even MORE ready for Christmas now than past years in case I am sidelined for a week or two or more. But I still feel like I am treading water...

Hello all - I'm going to try and be more active on the thread this month but...it's shaping up to be even busier than usual. We're under contract to buy a house - the inspection should be next week (fingers crossed all goes well but it has a new roof, 2 new a/c units, new flooring, and new windows so that's most of the big stuff) and if all goes well, we should close shortly before Christmas. DS29 is ALSO under contract to buy a house and is scheduled to close about the same time. grammadee - hopefully you get a date soon so you can plan. I'm also laughing at you cleaning for the cleaner but I'm pretty sure I would be also. nylene -thanks for setting up the thread. We had a quiet Halloween - toured the house and put in the offer I did a fun buffet at home - mummy dogs, a skeleton veggie tray, monster mash (chex mix with candy corn, pumpkins, and reeses pieces), witches brew (punch) and jello jigglers and we watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Linda, don't ever worry about not keeping up on the thread. This should not be a task. Come when you can; we are always glad to see you. Congrats on the offer on the new home. I hope that everything moves through the channels as planned and you can be in soon. That's great that your DS is also buying a house. I hope things work out well for him also. Your Halloween sounds low key but enjoyable with the family! grammadee, I'm sorry that you are just waiting, waiting. I hope you hear something with a date soon. Have you had attacks in the past 4 weeks? I don't want you to have to have emergency surgery. Hugs. My DD called last night and I asked if they did anything at all for Halloween. The children have been nowhere since March! She said they socially distanced with some neighbors on the driveway and the kids did some fun things together but masked and apart. Then they went home and had doughnuts on a string and bobbed for apples. Topher got to trick-or-treat down the hallway. Each family member stayed behind a door and waited for him to knock and say Trick-or-Treat. She says he was delighted. grammadee, joyfulnana & kitbop, the weekend crop sounds fun. I hope I can hop on and participate some. Thanks for doing fun things on this great site. Off to cook dinner.

I have been very careful not to lose the stainless steel pin that came with my new Art Glitter glue. I hope it will not rust. I put a big old piece of washi around my pin, because darn is that thing hard to keep track of! I've had mine for a year and a half, and there is ZERO rust. It has bent all to heck unfortunately (I was too rough with it one day, and once it's bent, it just keeps bending) and I need a new one. I was going to try a good quality sewing pin - I *think* they say "stainless" on them? But your experience with rusting pins makes me nervous. Also - do you love the glue? I hope you do. I love mine and bought the refill bottle this year. grammadee - your "sticky specs" - I think I remember something like that years ago and was tempted by never purchased. Let us know what you think. I'm thinking of getting some spray adhesive myself for intricate die cuts. Regarding Christmas: you know how Canada Post usually gives a "guaranteed Christmas delivery" date, and if you mail before that you know your parcel will arrive? This year, they are giving NO guaranteed dates. Even if you mail now. Does that motivate you at all? It did me - I'm planning on doing a lot of shopping online, but need to start NOW. I'm usually a December shopper, mainly because my giftees love to change their minds last minute! Linda - your Halloween sounds really great! Good for you for going that extra mile for your family to make it a special day. My DD was out at a local annual "scream park" adventure - well distanced, tickets for a specific time and everyone in masks, plus the zombies/monsters couldn't get close to you this year (which did make it less scary obviously) but the rest of us just rather ignored the day. I always feel guilty after days like that go by without recognition. And FINGERS CROSSED on the house!

Linda, that sounds exciting! Hope all goes well with the home inspection. Sounds like a fun family Halloween! really cool that you served all those creepy menu items! That sounds like great fun for Topher, nylene. What a cool idea! Dd took Mikey out in their neighbourhood. She said it was fun seeing all the different ways treats were handed out. Some had chutes, some handed the candy out with tongs, some left the treats in little bundles on the yard for the kids to pick up. There were a couple of kids on the block who could not go out because classmates had tested positive for covid, and Mikey split his candy and dropped off a bag for each of them the next day.

Happy Monday and November! nylene , thanks for keeping us going. We had a quiet weekend. Got to the park and it has been remodeled and looks better. I took a few pics for scrapping of course. I gotta start my christmas cards this week. I was working on ideas over the last two weeks and still not satisfied with my attempts. So back to the drawing board! Dress Up With Me Monday- I wore one of my favorite necklaces and added a navy blue t-shirt and ocean blue pants for the whole look. It is still pretty hot out here so a t-shirt was perfect for this day. I got a new YT video up. I told the story of my art called, "You Got This." Most of you have seen the art before but maybe never heard the story. As I am celebrating my anniversary of my hysterectomy, I wanted to tell how this art encouraged me. I hope it inspires you all especially if you are having a hard time. Link Herenylene - I am so glad you have been cranking out the cards. I know it has been fun and good medicine for you. You and grammadee have really been inspiring us slow pokes to get going. joyfulnana - What a pretty cat pal you have! I hope your dgs is ok and will be friends with the cat. grammadee - Thanks for all the fun activities you and others are organizing for us Peas. linda - I hope your house business works out great. Hang in there and like Nylene said, we will see ya when you can.

kitbop, I love my Art Glitter Glue. I just can't believe that you can wipe it off and it doesn't show. My pin got bent too. I have learned to "screw" it in instead of pushing. Em ordered me 4 new official pins that just came today. I will keep them for when this one just won't work anymore. Because I let the glue get too hard in the tip, I can just barely get the pin in. But that makes the glue string so thin that I can use it on tiny fonts. It dries so fast that you have to get it in the right place, but I like that. I don't think I will ever go back to glue pens. kellyr21, I will go check out your new video. Your dress up outfits sound so pretty. I haven't been dressed up since March until Alex's Baptism on Sat. It felt good to put on a dress. Our Church services (for the older crowd) are all virtual, so I just live in my levi's and Cousin Camp t-shirts. We don't really go anywhere, so that's fine for around the house. Even the funeral of a neighbor today was virtual. Things are so different right now. I made cards from the Nov Sheetload tonight. I can't listen to anymore campaign ads or Covid reports. I could feel my anxiety rising. It felt good to have time to sit in my scraproom and scrap. I think I needed that.

nylene. If the tip gets clogged up you can soak it in hot water. That will soften the glue and you can poke through it to clear the hardened glue. grammadee. For little pieces I make a little pool of glue. Then I grab my little piece with tweezers and dip it into the glue

Good Morning! Linda good luck on the house! That's awesome that you still made Halloween fun for the family. There was no trick or treating for Rudy this year. He and his dad went out bought huge bags of candy and stayed up late watching movies and eating candy in their costumes. Since they were both dressed as versions of Spiderman I'm sure there were play fights too lol. He is still friends with Abby, he can't help himself and she didn't leave a mark on him so I think she agrees they are still friends too lol. I've done a bit of shopping this year, and it mostly all be online - which the norm for me anyway- but I don't usually start so early. Working on my part of the Count Your Blessings crop. nylene trick or treating in the house is brillant! I'm so glad they kids had a good day. grammadee I'm sure I would be straightening things up for the cleaning lady too lol. Even though that's sort of crazy, I know lots of people do it lol.

Happy Tuesday! Here is another new video. I was hoping to get out last weekend but had to redo the intro. This one is connected to my last art story, "You Got This." In this video, I shared how to make a personal and inspirational layout to help you in a tough time. I love the idea of making the layout but the best part is hanging it up or posting it in your home for daily inspiration. Hope you all can check it out. Happy Wednesday! This is a fun lo! I have it on my bookcase and my dh told me the other day it was inspiring him. I was so surprised and delighted to hear that. So I guess I will keep it up a little longer for both of us. Love, Life & Inspire LO by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- Thanks for all your cheers! I do feel like I am sharing more of my personality and self and it feels good and a little scary! LOL! In that video I had to retake it I can't even remember how many times. But I finally got it together. Making these videos have been so good for my confidence.

kellyr21 - love that layout! joyfulnana - two spidermen? how fun! nylene - I need to check out the Nov Sheetload grammadee - any surgery updates? We had the house inspection today - it went well - a few minor issues but nothing major. Next step is the survey and appraisal. I'm getting excited - it's a brick house - two stories - ground floor has a kitchen with breakfast nook, dining room, living room with fireplace, bedroom with en suite, utility room, powder room, and an extra room (probably supposed to be the formal living room) which will be my craft space. Upstairs are 3 more bedrooms - one with en suite and the other share a jack n jill bath - plus a big bonus room for DH. There are two walk-in attic storage spaces. The two car garage has two storage rooms/closets off it. There's a screened patio off the living room.

Oh Linda that house sounds amazing! I'm so happy for you! I hope everything goes through and quickly for you. And how exciting you will have a whole room just for you! I have moved my craft supplies so many times. I don't have a room for them since I moved it all out of my office. Right now I'm in my bedroom but that's starting to make me a little crazy. I really need a three bedroom apt which seems a little ridiculous for one person lol. kellyr21 I've gotten behind on videos. I have my LOs hanging in the hall on cafe rods. Not for inspiration, just to display them. And to get me scrapping again if I've taken a break. I get tired of seeing the same pages for too long lol. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi, Pokey Peas! I totally missed the fun weekend crop. Dh and I took a little road trip to northern Utah to see some beautiful murals that have been painted on city buildings. We had a nice time, ordered lunch at a little drive-in where we used to stop on our way to college. We figured the last time we stopped there was in 1965. Food was great then and great now. The only sad thing was that DH could not see that there was anything painted on a building from across the street. He could see what was right up next to him, but missed the whole view. I took lots of photos and will blow them up big for him to see with his magnifier. We were leaving town when we saw a new mural and the painter was there painting. We had a great visit with him and he told us how to find other murals we missed. It was a great little trip. We came home and I had a terrible migraine the next day. I take meds for prevention, but that's the first I have had for many, many months. Sorry I missed the fun here. kellyr21, I will go see your newest video after dinner tonight. Linda, it seems like things are going well for the house buy. I hope it continues to move along at a good pace so you can be in soon. gramma, I sent you a PM, not sure that you saw it. joyfulnana, I hoped to get on the last Hangout of the year, but remained in my dark room all day. Thanks to you and msliz for setting those up this summer. It has been so nice when I could get on. grammadee, did you have good participation this weekend? I hope lots of Peas joined in. Off to start dinner. Hugs to everyone who needs one....that's all of us!

Glad you got to get away for a bit this weekend, nylene. We did not have a lot of people involved in the weekend crop, but there were some who played on the weekend, and some--like kellyr21--are still playing along with the prompts. I have had requests for the printout to be emailed, and for the thread to stay open while people play along all month, so that's a good thing. Spent some time with gramma and joyfulnana and kitbop on Hangouts, yesterday. My creative mind was not working, but it was fun to chat. Still no word on surgery. I am feeling a LITTLE better about Christmas prep. Ordered some gifts on line today and have another order ready to hit Checkout once I have confirmation from the kids' moms that these gifts will work. I put together a bunch of cards over the weekend, and some more this morning. This afternoon I got my Pea exchange addresses printed and now I have 30 cards ready to put into the mail tomorrow.

Hey Pokeys. Happy Friday the 13th! My calendar pages are done, so I am going to the printer today to drop them off for copying. And while I am in town I will put a bunch of swap cards in the mail, pick up a few more baking supplies, and do a little more Christmas shopping.
How is your Christmas/holiday prep going? Have gifts for all the grandkids either on the way to me or ready to pick up by their parents at stores local to them. Also have most of the baking supplies I need. After today I plan to start that process. Still need to make some decisions about adult gifts. Hoping to pick up something for my 2 brothers and 5 sisters-in-law. I have my cards constructed, but need to compose and copy the family Christmas letter. I am really glad I don't have to worry about getting ready for--or dealing with having to change plans for--another major holiday before Christmas. Okay. Must get off the computer, get dressed, and get on the road...

Our Covid numbers have gone sky high. I thought they were terrible when they reached 1000 a day. Yesterday we were 3987 new cases in one day. It has just steadily climbed, as have the deaths. It is so sad and worrisome. We are staying isolated except for medical appts and a little grocery shopping. It has given me time to spend in my scraproom. I got the address of Cards for Soldiers from gramma and have a box of Christmas and Hello cards almost ready to send. Making them has left my room a terrible mess, but it really is good therapy for me. I worry less when my hands are busy. DH has become very paranoid of the virus. I'm sure it's because he is immunosuppressed while going through radiation. They are talking about finishing this round and starting another soon after. I think it will go on most of the winter. grammadee , I love your cover for your calendar. I need to learn how to make a calendar for the family.I think most would really enjoy it. Your grandson is so handsome! I'm sure he has girls hanging around watching him skate! It sounds like you have a great start on Christmas. I hope you can get it done early and hear from your doctor about your surgery. They are cancelling all non-emergency surgeries here because the beds are filled with Covid cases. I hope that doesn't put off your surgery for a long time. Hugs kellyr21 , I saw your latest video. I am enjoying what you are doing. How are the fires down there? Angie says they haven't smelled smoke for about a week so thinks they must be controlled near her. I envy you your weather. We have snow. It's a bit early for such cold temps, but it's obvious that winter has come. LOL Linda , I hope that things are moving along for your house buy. Hang in there. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Oh I hope they can get the numbers under control in your state, nylene. Glad you have card making to bring you some joy. I hope your dh's treatments are effective and that he can find some way to keep his mind off all the fear. I hear that there are more restrictions coming down in our province as well: one of the reasons I wanted to get my gift shopping done while I can. I am quite happy with what I was able to do today. The two stores I went to were very safety conscious, and I was able to pick up gifts for 3 sisters-in-law and two brothers, so now I will be able to wrap those gifts and get them ready to mail out. Also some of my on line orders arrived already and I was able to pick them up at the post office. I vaccuumed a corner of the bedroom, and have put in some empty boxes so I can sort stuff when it comes in from the car. The other reason I want things done is in case I will be sidelined for a time and unable to do much. That is if the surgery actually happens. Not sure how this next level will affect surgeries. I will call again on Monday. Team sports have been put on hold, and dd and dgs are not here this weekend b/c there is a travel advisory, trying to keep people in their own community areas. Dgs is not impressed b/c he was looking forward to coming out to the farm, and he just heard today that there will be no hockey this weekend either. They are planning to go cross country skiing in the field near their home, and taking their jack o lanterns out to a local farm to feed to the chickens. okay. Must go fix supper.

California is taking another step back to more restrictions. I'm still going into the office 4 days a week but I am pretty much isolated. Nothing like it was with folks in and out all the time.
I shipped of a second box of Christmas cards for the soldiers (and I've managed to get Nylene hooked - he he he). I really do enjoy doing them. I've started the Pea card exchange cards. I'm making 3 or 4 different ones so I don't go batty.
It's rainy and cold here today.
Back to card making. All of you stay safe please!

house purchase seems to be moving along - we had the inspection last Friday, this Friday we had a foundation specialist inspect the foundation. The mortgage paperwork is all in and the appraisal ordered and we got a quote on home insurance. I think we're looking at closing around Dec 15th or so. I haven't done anything creative...I've been focusing on homeschooling and typing up the handwritten memories mum left. gramma - great job with all the cards for the soldiers - as a Navy mum, I sure appreciate support for our military. grammadee - sounds like you're making good progress - fingers crossed that your surgery happens. Love the calendar pages nylene - ((((Hugs)))) stay safe Hi to everyone and stay safe

Happy weekend pokeys! nylene - stay safe, and keep your DH away from people - his poor immune system probably can't handle a common cold right now Glad you are keeping busy. linda - woohoo on the house! Boo on the scrapbooking. You need to set yourself up a scrapbook "classroom" where you can take classes alongside your DD grammadee . I can only wish I were anywhere near what you have accomplished. Do you go to Edmonton for the surgery? I assume you have to do 14 days isolation prior to the surgery? It's so unfair to you that this is unknown - you can't relax until you know when. I very much doubt they will shut down surgeries like they did in the Spring. It was SO costly to health care, playing catch-up now, and to patients having to wait. Plus, the ICU admissions are less than they were in the Spring because so many of these Covid folks are younger this time round. Today, I have some "must do" things, but generally have a relaxing day ahead of me. Which is good, because a nap might be on the "must do" list. My shoulder, argh, it's improving in terms of daily function and comfort, but at night there is not a single position I can find. Enjoy the day everyone!

This is a 3 part series and I am enjoying doing something different this year. Link HereYouTube Tutorial -Part 1 of 3 by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- No fires here!
