Good Sunday morning, Pokeys. I slept in and am still a little fuzzy around the edges. Woke up in the middle of the night (no reason); went back to sleep after quite awhile; but weird dreams; so feeling a little disoriented this morning. My plan was to do some Christmas baking today, but I may end up just mixing up some cookie batter this morning that I can roll & cut & bake later. My usual way of attacking this venture is to have about three projects going at once, but I don't trust myself with ONE task at a time just yet... kitbop, I hope you got some rest. I found that after I broke my arm a few years ago, I slept much better wearing a 3 point sling, because my sleeping brain did not remember that some movements were painful, and the sling kept me from aggravating the situation. Linda, I think that planning to move to a new home counts as pretty creative. I am so excited for you! If you close on it December 15th, when would you be moving? How will you move--hire a mover and do it all in one day? Or will you be moving load by load yourselves? When do you put your current home on the market? So many balls to keep in the air! kellyr21, what type of paint do you use on your cards? I love the look of the image painted over pp. I have some watercolour paints in quite a range and a few acrylics. Can you add reinker to white acrylic paint to tint it? I would love to try the sencilling/masking technique and the tree painting technique I posted in the card making thread. Hang in there, everyone, and as gramma says, "Stay safe!"

From what DH says, he doesn't want to even think about packing until it closes (sigh) - I'm thinking the long process of closing on our current place 12 years ago (we offered in early June and closed 12 years ago this week) has him nervous and not wanting to live with boxes that long. We'll be hiring a mover for a few of the big (heavy) pieces of furniture but otherwise doing it ourselves - I swore when we moved 12 years ago I was never doing a DIY move again but...It'll be a while before we put the current place on the market - it's paid for so we don't need to sell it on a deadline and I suspect it'll be a while before we get all of DH's stuff moved anyway

Yeah, I think you could use watercolors if the pp is light or just use white background. That would be pretty and delicate. I am not sure about reinker with acrylic but I hope you try it to see what happens. That video you shared with the trees was so pretty. I just have to add that to my list of things to try. I just need more hours in my day. LOL!

Good Friday evening, Pokeys. Thanks for sharing your TN pages, kellyr21. I love the look of interactive pages with pockets and doors, but have not made many myself. I received some page protectors from Amazon today so was able to finally put my Book about Me away with all pages intact. Felt good about that. Linda, I think I am with your dh, especially since you do not have to move out of your place completely at the time you are moving into your new home, and since you are going to stay in the same community. You could pack up things with the highest priority for a comfortable relocation, then take your time to pack up the rest of it. When we moved from town out to the farm (a 15 minute drive), we started with the big furniture, including beds. Then the bedding, and then we had people packing up dishes and cookware at the one house and others putting it away at this end so that containers (including kitchen drawers) could be shuttled back and forth. Each person had a suitcase of clothes to tide us over, and then we had time to transport the rest of the clothes and everything else. Have been baking cookies all week, so very little else creatively is getting done. I got my Pokey cards into the post office along with the other Pea exchange cards today. Have my Christmas letter written, so just need to copy it and then I can start on family & friends cards. Hoping to scrap some pages this weekend, but will see how much creativity I feel. Have scrapped only two pages this month. Think I am done with cards, but everywhere I look I see new ideas I would like to try. Hoping you are all healthy and can have a relaxing weekend. (((((HUGS))))) to everyone!

I seem to be having a difficult time keeping up with 2peas this month. I find that I seldom get to sit down at the computer. I have been able to make a bunch of cards and plan to make a box full for each of my girls for Christmas. They have asked for specific types like Wedding, Sympathy, etc. I am still spending lots of time in the car, but making the time useful. kellyr21, I haven't seen your latest video, but I love your cards and the TN notebook. You are so creative. Will it just be you and Ron for Thanksgiving. grammadee, nothing from the surgeon yet? That must be nerve-wracking. Your cookie baking sounds like fun. I don't spend a lot of time in the kitchen right now and kind of look forward to making a big Thanksgiving meal. It will just be the 2 of us. Em and family will have college kids home so will steer clear of us. I got a call from Em this morning saying they were pulled up outside the house. She wondered if I would feel ok about having Alex come in (masked) to deliver a card to us. He came in, being careful not to get too close and waited while we opened the card. It was so sweet. He put a sticker of a clock on the front and it said "it has been 10,000 hours without you. I miss you. He then wrote a letter to each of us individually. It was so touching! Made our day! How I miss having them in and out all the time. I will come back later to try to catch up. Have a nice weekend, everyone.

Happy Saturday! Waving hi to you all! It has been a quiet and peaceful day. I was playing around with some slim line card ideas. I think I like them with my new girl stamp. She fits better on that size vs. the 5x7 size. Here is my new YT video. This is part 2 of the Sassy Stencil Girls series. I showed how I made pp clothes for the gals and the cards. Very cute! Link HereHere is one of the cards I made with the patterned paper clothes. I love the dresses but wanted to try a more casual style. Doesn't she look comfy? LOL! Christmas Cards with Red Outfit by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene - What a sweet boy! I am so glad you were able to see him for a while. Yes, Ron and I still haven't been able to be with our family in person so maybe we will do more Zoom calls. Boy, this has been so tough but trying to stay hopeful that we will be visiting our loved ones in the near future. grammadee - Oh cookies! What kind did you make? Sounds so yummy!

How sweet, nylene, to receive such a special delivery! I hope you can zoom or Hangout with the family when the older kids are home from college over there. Got a facetime call from one family today and it was really nice to see everyone, even if it wasn't in person. My ddil's dad's will has been finally paid out (there was a waiting time of five years built into the will, I guess), so they are spending the money on updating their home. Today I got a virtual tour. I really hope that the Thanksgiving weekend will give you a break from the driving to appointments. If you love to cook, I hope you get to cook some of your favourites. Love your cards with the girls on them, kellyr21. I really need to pull out my Julie Nutting stamps and dies. I have a boy version. Maybe I will use that for the last dgk's birthday card of the year. I have a set of recipes I bake every year at this time and freeze the cookies. Have cut back on sizes of batches this year, as I won't be attending events or visiting people when I would usually take a tray or treats. So far, I have made gingerbread people, ginger snaps, coconut Christmas trees, butter tarts, almond crisps, and choco cherry bells. I still need to make the gluten free "surprise" cookies that my dd loves, but I will wait until closer to Christmas. Might make some "spice mice" too, but I am not sure. Today I signed justjac and me up for a painting class in a couple of weeks. The lady who runs them owns a furniture finishing store which is open from noon until 5:00PM. She is opening up at 9:00am for four of us to come in and stencil paint and decorate some Christmas sleighs. I have been in her studio before, and the classroom seats about 8 to 10 people, so I am thinking we will each get a table to ourselves, so lots of space. The ad for the class also had some triangular wooden trees, too, but I don't know if those are included with the sleigh. kitbop, I hope you are sleeping better and that your neck/shoulder are giving you some relief.

I have gotten behind checking in on the MB's. I have been working on education for work on my days off. I am done with learning cardiac dysrhythmia's, next is learning ACLS. I got all my yearly reorientation done. I am also trying to work on my chemo certification again.
I was very upset with work this week. In September, we were told that are unit would be getting telemetry. (Heart monitor so we can watch for any cardiac dysthymia) I was in the first batch of classes since I am one of the main charges at night. I still have to get ACLS certified which is coming in December. I walked into work that night and administration decided we were going to start taking telemetry patients at 7pm!!! Not everyone has finished their classes. We are to only take “stable” telemetry patients. I had to call the charge on the cardiac floor to help me set our first patient up. They haven’t shown us how to chart telemetry or how to use the program for the monitors. Our first stable patient’s rhythm was in 1st degree heart block and having PVC’s every so often. We survived and only needed to call the cardiac charge nurse twice. I know someday this will all be second nature for us.
I have been tired this weekend. I haven't been able to accomplish much. I have started working on organizing my bonus/scrapbook room. It is going to take me a bit to get it organized the way I want. I have a teams meeting in the morning for work. I hope that gets me out of bed in a timely matter so I may accomplish something.

Hi everyone nylene - so sweet! grammadee - your painting class sounds fun! kellyr21 - another awesome card! knutschen - you do sound busy! DH's grandmother passed tonight at the age of 103 so we're back in the midst of funeral preparations. Apparently she prepaid everything with a local-to-us funeral home (she had been living several hours away with another grandchild after her daughters both passed in 2016) so they'll be handling the arrangements.

((((HUGS)))) Linda, to you and your family, on the loss of another loved one. I know at that age, it can be expected, but it is still a sad time. No wonder you are exhausted, knutschen after a stressful week at work. Please take some time to rest. Got another couple of pages finished today. Hoping to get my Fall and Halloween iris containers stowed away to give myself a little more room in here. I was going to stow the school bin away as well. I may select some school supplies more reachable though b/c I keep getting photos of home schooling adventures. Tried printing my Christmas letter for family and friends. Silly me. Tried to print them all at one time. Should have known my printer would throw a fit and jam while doing the second sides too soon after the first ones. Leaving them now until morning. Hopefully the printer--and I--will be in a better mood then...

I walked into work that night and administration decided we were going to start taking telemetry patients at 7pm!!! OK, I totally get this feeling...it's crap! Glad it was only 1st degree block Linda - {{{hugs}}} nylene - Alex sounds SO sweet. I'm sure your heart aches to miss your visits. kellyr21 - beautiful work. YOur ladies are so elegant and have great attitude grammadee - I'm at the point that I'm going to buy a new printer. I don't know how old ours is, but it's not reliable in any way. Sometimes the colours. Sometimes the clarity. Sometimes it just refuses to acknowledge it exists. Or that we're talking to it I have to decide tho if I'm going to do any photo printing at home, as that will vastly affect the price. We had our first dump of snow yesterday. And by dump I mean a foot! Which is a lot of snow for us - more than we go all year last year I think. Heavy stuff, tree branches bent to the ground. Very pretty. My shoulder did not like scraping the car but it is improving, thanks for asking! I have been making christmas cards - with all my love of dies and stamps, I ended up with a hand drawn/painted design. So each will be a little unique. I also decided to hand draw/paint a card for a co-worker who is leaving. I didn't want to make it formal because we've been friends so long. She loves Costa Rica and Spanish, so I thought I'd wish her "Hasta la Vista". Then I thought I'd add the "Hasta la Vista, baby" just to be silly. But I couldn't think of what to put on for decoration! Then I thought of "Hosta la Vista" and that I'd paint a Hosta! A quick pinterest search revealed that I'm not the first with this idea and it gave me great ideas on how to sketch my hosta. It's not wonderful art, but I think it will suffice/get the idea across.

Thank you grammadee and kitbop - yes, not unexpected but she was the last of the generations above us (and sadly much of our generation is also gone) which is a bit sobering. Look at you getting cleared up grammadee - well done! Sorry about the printer woes. kitbop -wow- that's a lot of snow in one go. Your card for your friend sounds lovely

Linda , I am sorry for your loss. Regardless of age it's hard to see our loved ones go. More and more of my generation are also passing. We are now one of the oldest couples in the neighborhood too. Hugs for you and your family. kitbop , oh, my shoulder hurts thinking of you scraping your car! I hope you don't pay for that later. A foot of snow is a huge amount all at once. I hope your roads are clear as you go to and from work. knutschen , what a tough experience for you and your co-workers. I'm glad things went well for you anyway. I'm sure it was stressful. Your organization of your bonus room sounds like fun. I'd love to start over on my scraproom and do some big rearranging, but probably never will. Best wishes on your challenges at home and at work. grammadee , I am sorry about your printer issues. My printer doesn't like to print on the back unless the front has dried for several hours. I hope you can get it all done in the morning. I love the way you store all your seasonal things together. Maybe I'd be more organized if I tried that. I do have Christmas together, but that's all. They rest is all over the room. kellyr21, I didn't get back to the computer last night, so will watch your videos tonight. I am loving your "girls". Today was a "stay all day in the car". We did make a trip out to oldest DD's to drop off a gift and card for her b-day. We visited a few minutes, all masked up and 6 ft apart. It was nice just to be able to see her. Normally this would be our year for Thanksgiving at her home. She lives close to DH's craft supply place where he buys his pen kits, so we zipped on out to see her. I haven't done anything scrappy today, but may get some time tonight. Wishing each of you Pokeys a productive week, and a Happy Thanksgiving to the US Pokeys.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well today. Our refrigerator has died and we are hoping to get another one delivered tomorrow. I do feel upset we lost so much food but I know it will be ok. Just glad we are able to afford to buy a new one similar to our old one. I noticed yesterday it was barely cold and the frozen section has soft foods. Well, I just hope it will be worked by Thanksgiving so we can rest and have a good dinner. Here is another TN page I made using the Count Your Blessing Crop grammadee. I used W- washi tape, T- Thankful and something else that I forgot. LOL! I love the little flap and the gold embossing turned out beautiful! Thankful TN Page by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Thankful TN Page by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- So gad you were able to see your dd! I have more videos coming out these week. No worries to see them all. They aren't going anywhere! Thanks for your kind support, though! grammadee - I hope you get to play with Julie Nutting doll. I have really been having fun with mine. You assort of cookies are so good. I haven't made cookies in like forever. Maybe this holiday season, I will try a recipe or two. kitbop- Bravo for drawing and painting for your friend! I hope you had fun making it! linda- Hugs to you and your family! knutschen- Hi Jana! I hope you are hanging in there with all the busy stuff. How are your pets going these days? Are you still learning guitar? @

Thank you all - Grandmom's viewing was tonight - just an hour and because it was short notice, only a handful (8 including the 4 of us) of people (probably for the best given Covid19)...the funeral will be next Wednesday graveside, there might be a few more people but not many more.

Hello everyone! I have no idea where this month has gone! nylene that was so sweet of Alex! I know you miss them so much. Hopefully by this time next year things will be much better and more normal. kitbop glad your shoulder is feeling a bit better. I'm so far behind in this thread. I have had no mojo and haven't completed one thing this month. My cards need put together which I will do tomorrow evening so they can get in the mail by the weekend. Who knows how long it will take them to get to their destinations! My ex found out Friday he has Covid and he had spent the evening with both the boys the night before his symptoms started. (everyone masked thank goodness!) So far everyone is negative. But it's crazy how many people can be exposed from just one person. I had already decided against Thanksgiving this year. If we are going to do holidays, I'll take my chances with Christmas although the cases will surely be much worse by then. IDK, feels like a downer of a month. Miss Abby doesn't let me sleep past 5 (6 since the time change) and we are still getting used to each other. Mostly me still getting used to having a pet to care for lol. I crash a lot earlier in the evening now lol. She's great though and I love having her. She spends my work day sleeping under my desk and I enjoy having the company. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Thanksgiving!

joyfulnana , I am sorry about the exposures to Covid. Has your ex been really sick? My 25 year old grandson got it and was really sick for about 5 days. He still has a residual cough, no taste or smell, but has been cleared to go back to work and school. He was going nuts during his quarantine period once he felt better. Luckily he didn't go to DD's for Sunday dinner the week before he started symptoms. The rest of the family is doing fine. I am glad you are enjoying the company of Miss Abby. I'm sure it takes getting used to. The early mornings would be hard for me! Glad you have her. Linda , I'm sorry things have to be different for funerals and memorials now. Our dear neighbor passed away last week and the family held a private graveside service. They actually called some of the neighbors to ask if we would be offended if we weren't invited. Of course it was fine. Hugs to you as you mourn your Grandmom. kitbop , I am in awe of your painting your Christmas cards! You have so many talents. I can't wait to see them. Take it easy with the shoulder through the holidays. kellyr21 , I enjoyed your videos. It's fun to see your personality coming out in your art and videos. We will be alone for Thanksgiving too. It will seem strange, but we need to stay safe. This is the first time in about 20 years that I didn't have grands here to help grind my cranberries. DH was a good substitute though. I miss that tradition. knutschen , will you and DH be alone for Thanksgiving too? How are your numbers of cases? grammadee , I will probably not make many cookies this year. We won't have anyone to eat them and my waistline doesn't need them. I will do some to freeze for when we need a sweet treat and that's about all. Do you have snow up there? We had a bit of a skiff last week, but nothing since. The weather report looks like you are probably getting snow. I actually sat down and made a Hanukkah card for msliz today. That felt good. Now I need to get my cards all addressed and mailed. That's my goal for the week after Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving US pokey's! I will echo Linda - I'm grateful for all of you! Linda, I'm so sorry for your loss and that it came during the height of cases. I have been super productive around here today so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend. No crafting - yet - but that is coming later today. I feel like the cloud is lifting and I'm feeling more joy. We'll be having dinner just my little bubble of Cody and Rudy tomorrow. And maybe a sleepover, that is TBD. The weather is beautiful today, sunny and warm. I have the windows open! It's really nice that most of the stores are closed today as well. Just like when I was growing up. I've always hated that everything was open on Thanksgiving like it wasn't a day any different than the rest. nylene my ex had a mild case fortunately. Mostly fatigue and a loss of taste and smell. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

kellyr21, your gnomes and Julie Nutting cards are beautiful. I love the painting you did on each. What a talented girl you are! Thanks for sharing. I know grammadee will love the gnomes! joyfulnana, I'm glad your ex's Covid was not really bad. How was your dinner with Cody and Rudy? I'm sure Rudy is anxious for a sleepover. I think it's as hard for the grands as it is on the grandmas being together so much less. Alex and Em dropped by for a minute to pick up some cranberry relish. It was fun to see him and at least bump elbows with him. Our granddaughter got officially engaged yesterday. We have all known for a while that they were serious, but now it is official and the wedding is scheduled. They are both in school, know that a big reception is out of the question with Covid, and decided that they might as well just do it over the holidays. They will be married in the Payson Temple on 1-2-21 which is coming right up. They are so cute together and both families are thrilled. They are young but both seem to have their heads on straight and have goals. Oh, and we just found out that the new great-grandchild is a boy! That will give us one of each.

Congratulations, nylene , on both the upcoming wedding and the expected great grandson! Will you be able to "attend" the wedding through some form of video platform? When is the little guy due? I am really counting on vaccines being available by at least next fall so that we can plan on seeing and hugging all the people in our lives again! I am, indeed, in love with your gnomes, kellyr21 ! What a creative way to add them to almost anything! And I really do plan to dig out those Julie Nutting stamps and dies. Just got distracted on other projects. But it will happen! I hope your dinner and [possible] sleepover happened without a hitch, joyfulnana . I hope that your ex's Covid case continues to be minor. Does your other ds live with or visit often with his dad? Would this impact your Christmas plans? Dd is planning on diligently isolating so that they can come here for Christmas. School doesn't resume until Jan 14th here, so once they arrive, they will be here for awhile. Grampa and Mikey are desperately missing each other, so hopefully they can spend lots of time together in the time they are here. Dh said this morning that if it was going to be just the two of us that I should not even put up a tree this year. I told him it was going up next week anyway (the day after the cleaning lady is here on the 3rd). How are you and your family doing, Linda ? Everything with the new home progressing without a hitch? How are you doing, kitbop ? Are your hospitals becoming full like they are here? After our Premier's announcements last week, I am resigned to the fact that my surgery will be put off indefinitely until our numbers are drastically reduced. The provincial plan is to move their "suggestions" from the last few weeks into the "regulation" category. They will reassess mid December. Crossing my fingers that restrictions on travel will not be increased before Christmas. I have almost all of my shopping done for Christmas and am just waiting for more packages to arrive by mail so I can start preparing and sending out boxes of gifts to the 3 kids I KNOW we won't be seeing. I also need to call the print shop today to see if my calendar pages have been printed. And I need to sign the last batch of cards to be put into the mail when I am in town for my regular dr appointment on Tuesday. Have finished all the Christmas cards I need, and will be clearing all the Christmassy stuff off the dining room table before the cleaning lady comes on Thursday. Today I played with some summer photos I found on my phone a bit ago. Here are two LO's: at the beach by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Summers that last forever by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Not fair grammadee, I'm in mourning for summer already. Beautiful pages - the photos are stunning! We got a good chunk of yard clean up done yesterday, put up the outdoor lights and pulled out the indoor decor as well. This is the earliest we've EVER got Christmas "out" in the house. I also have the pokey peas christmas cards done, written in, and half addressed (doing labels would take me just as long as hand writing envelopes. I'm not set up for it and my printer is not behaving anyways) and so they should be out the door tonight! I'm pleased they have half a chance of getting to you, and to the other distant people on my list. With all the card drawing/painting, I'm actually feeling like I want a break to make a layout again! I haven't done a layout in 3 weeks! My mojo better not hit because with Christmas revving up there will be no time to scrap I'm running out the door to work. Yes, we are seeing higher Covid numbers here and we had an "outbreak" on one ward (not mine) - 3 patients, but they locked that unit down so fast... Thinking of everyone

grammadee I bet Mikey does miss grandpa and YOU and all the fun he has with the two of you. There was sleepover! I have been leaving it up to Rudy if he wants to stay or not, so far he always wants to lol. He and the cat are getting along well now so that helps lol. nylene congratulations!! On the new great grand and the wedding! It's so nice when something good comes out of this dreadful year! Both the boys had been shooting pool in a league with their dad for the past few weeks, which they all three decided to stop the night before the diagnosis. My small dinner went well. It was laid back and relaxed. I'm still determined to have a proper Christmas somehow. If the younger DS and his GF can isolate beforehand I will feel better about that. Right now we are playing it by ear. I can't believe December is finally here tomorrow! This year has been such a weird time warp with time just dragging on endlessly and yet the past month flew by. I'm looking forward to 2021. It surely has to be better!
