last night it wasn't looking good. i ate an entire PINT of ice cream while i shook my head in shock.
this morning i woke up to more optimistic news. i still have one pint of ice cream left to celebrate or drown my sorry with. we'll have to see how the evening or week ends.

Did it take this long to call Arizona blue because it was red last election in 2016?
I was shocked it wasn't called around 1am PT when I went to bed.

Thank you for the info! There are a couple peas on this thread (and others I think where this happens) whose posts are blank for me - I'm not ignoring any accounts. Even when they are quoted their posts are blank....?? Anyone know why that is? So weird. I paged back a few pages and there are a couple posts I can't read for some reason. Twitter posts that I could read just a bit ago have disappeared for me too. The most important thing you may have missed is that the Wisconsin election commission administrator said they have finished counting and Biden won. I have yet to see any maps verifying this information.

PLurker , see...I told ya! Thank you, Wisconsin! Again I wasn't so hopeless about the vote count but rather the lack of humanity continuing to be shown here. I am happy about the count if it holds, just not so much about many of my neighbors. Too much ugly, angry and bigoted. Especially since Kenosha. A Biden win isn't (or won't) bringing me the joy I would have hoped. It is only the best of awful situation, but will it last or go on to make real change? I hope so but what I've heard and seen from above mentioned neighbors makes me much less optimistic than previously, if I'm being honest. I guess I can "thank" trump for making it ok for many to show their true selves and open my eyes further. Feeling rather bummed about my home state regardless of the outcome I guess is what I'm saying. I hear you. My county and state went for Trump. I expected it, but it still bothers me. I look at people differently now.

lizacreates How confident are we in Maine and Arizona and Nevada? I think Fox/AP/Politico called Arizona, at least Politico has called Maine, and the head dude called Wisconsin. So I took your good work and Iâve put all of those in Italics. And listed what pieces we are waiting on. Does this look right? (224 + ME 1st Dist 3, WI 10, AZ 11,) NV 6, MI 16 = 270 waiting on results from Nevada & Michigan. NV & MI leaning blue. Nevada will announce tomorrow morning.(224 + ME 1st Dist 3, WI 10, AZ 11,) MI 16, GA 16 = 280 waiting on results from Michigan & Georgia. MI leaning blue, GA red but waiting on more Atlanta returns. Georgia will announce tonight.(224 + ME 1st Dist 3, WI 10,) PA 20, MI 16 = 273 Waiting on results from Pennsylvania & Michigan. PA is leaning red but has a LOT of mail in votes to count. MI leaning blue. PA has until Friday to count.
(224 + ME 1st Dist 3, WI 10, AZ 11, ) NV 6, GA 16 = 270 Waiting on results from Nevada & Georgia. NV leaning blue, GA leaning red but waiting on more Atlanta returns. Nevada will announce tomorrow morning, Georgia will announce tonight.
What did I miss or mess up? [/span][/quote][/b] PUURFECT. Dang, girlfriend, you can go work for CNN. ETA: NV is tight, but I have a good feeling it'll be ours.

Except that there are 2 Senators per state, no matter what the population of that state. So the minuscule population of WY has the same senatorial clout as a populous state like CA or NY. I understand why it was set up that way, but doesnât make it any easier to accept coming from DC, where our population is greater than WY and we have no Senate or House representation whatsoever. Why was it set up that way? Because right now it seems stupid to not have representation by population. How does every voice count this way? Honestly, it was set up that way at the time to protect the vote of less-populous slave states in contrast to the more-populous free states. Since slaves were only counted as 3/5 of a person for representational counting, and of course could not vote at all. So we keep this outdated relic of our slaveholding past now because it benefits the interests of an increasingly tiny minority of people who have managed to cheat, gerrymander, and lie themselves into seemingly perpetual power. Meanwhile, I live in a blue county that has 4.7 million people in it, but resides in a red state. If my county was a state, it would be the 25th largest by population. It also happens to be the most racially/ethnically diverse county in the US. But we have zero representation in the senate. Texas only gets its white Republicans represented there. So my neighbors and I are totally disenfranchised in the Senate and EC, and under-represented in the House because of state gerrymandering, while voters from small, conservative states are over-represented by comparison.

The WI Election Administrator just said she misspoke earlier when she said all the votes were in. There are actually about 300 votes from a very small city/county/area that are not yet in. She also said the official calling of WI will not be done until later today.

I don't know if this should be it's own thread, but do you think the US should have mandatory voting? I think Australia and about 20 other countries do. That would eliminate the need for the Electoral College wouldn't it?

I donât understand because itâs a 20K lead and they are counting 300 votes? My math skills arenât great but...

This! I have been following USA elections since Clinton because you are my neighbours and our counties are connected in so many ways. is it any surprise that the results have lead to this when you have a party in power who has so blatantly told their plan of cheating? Honestly I would either be worried that so many voters seem fine with this or that this party is cheating to make it seem like this.đ

Is this a joke? If not, oh the irony Wasnât the GOP fighting yesterday to STOP ballots from being corrected? There was a suit filed, I forget for what state, pretty sure not AZ. Am I remembering this incorrectly? Or is this more Trump fuckery because he has been moaning ever since Fox initially called it for Arizona.

Two thoughts.
If Biden had won by a landslide I believe there would have been a lot of violence. By stringing out the results for a few days it may help to ease into it and quell some of the potential rioting.
Even though the repubs will still control the Senate the majority will be slim. If Biden actually wins and there is a tie vote in the Senate, Harris with be the decider.

Here's what I have for uncalled states:
Wisconsin - conflicting reports of completion. Twitter says Biden, maps not verified. ETA: one district still to count, announcement later today Georgia - announcing tonight Nevada - announcing tomorrow Pennsylvania - likely no announcement until Friday
North Carolina Michigan Maine's 2nd District
Alaska - going red so why it hasn't been called is a mystery.
Has there been any word on when Michigan or North Carolina will announce? Or Maine's 2nd? That one has Trump with a good lead so I think it can go in that column.

The fact that this election is so close and it looks like the Senate stays red is so heart breaking and anxiety inducing.

I'm surprised then that it's never changed with the county changing. This morning I was reading about how most Trump supporters are coming from rural areas that totals less population. This needs to be changed.
