Texas is an extreme disappointment to me. I'm grateful that in all the hubbub over the states with close races, it's almost being ignored that for all the amazing turnout in Texas and the excitement around that during early voting, it turns out we're still a deep red state full of racists and religious bigots. We accomplished almost none of what we set out to do in this election. Yee haw. Same. I’m not a native Texan and my home state of Kentucky was disappointing as always, but I had hope for Texas. I don’t even know what is going on here. How is Paxton not in jail? How did we not make any progress in even going purple? Some is due to GOP gerrymandering (in the district races, not the statewide). No accounting for the support for Paxton or Trump-suckers like Cornyn. Even more than before, I walk around wondering which of the people I see is a Trump supporter. I'm glad I at least live in a blue part of a blue county. My friends and closest co-workers are like-minded on politics. I can just pretend it's a mid-sized state with an odd lack of senate representation, surrounded by a giant sea of people I don't want to know.

Yeah. expected my state to be horrific, so it’s no surprise it was. But I was really disappointed in TX too. I actually haven’t seen the final TX counts. Was it that bad? 🥺 Yes. 2018 might as well not even have happened. Much of the additional turnout ended up being in wealthy, older parts of Houston - places that are reliably Republican. Turnout from lower income neighborhoods and communities of color was lukewarm. There will be a lot of talk about why, and how we went wrong. Personally, I'm rewinding all the conversations we had on the board last spring about the type of candidate who would inspire turnout among voters who have generally felt disenfranchised. Biden wasn't it. My hot take is that I think in Houston's case, we'd have been better off with a Harris/Castro ticket. Maybe she'll be the candidate in 2024 and we can see then.

Merge you represent your state well. Do not be too disappointed, it has been moving forward and will continue. It takes time.

Early afternoon here and the third day of watching your election more closely than doing any work. I've decided I'm ok with that. This is far more important.
I'm really feeling for all of you living in the US. You must be completely exhausted.
Only 2000 votes the difference in Georgia now. Hoping to see that flip very soon.

Fox calling out the Trump BS that Republican poll watchers aren’t allowed within 6 feet of the vote counter. Footage showed it was. The whole process is online. Let these people count my votes. Crowds aren’t going in, for heavens sakes. Don’t slow down the counting. It will take. Time. To. Count. The. Votes. I find this significant if Fox is now apparently beginning to distance ... It was at the time of my post. Later on, after dog walking, 830 Eastern time, Tucker Carlson ( ) was on and starting to backpedal, so we switched to MSNBC. I saw a meme on Facebook, and I don’t know how to cut and paste and post despite many lessons here, but it was George from Seinfeld asking Elaine “ why are all the Pennsylvania mail in votes for Biden?” And Elaine answers “ because Trump told his followers to vote in person”. I’m from Pennsylvania and my vote is in there somewhere.

I know. I am just .....sad. Sad that I live between so many racists.😢 Texas is an extreme disappointment to me. I'm grateful that in all the hubbub over the states with close races, it's almost being ignored that for all the amazing turnout in Texas and the excitement around that during early voting, it turns out we're still a deep red state full of racists and religious bigots. We accomplished almost none of what we set out to do in this election. Yee haw. Merge - I saw the Bernie Sanders video on Fallon where he predicted the outcome of this election. I'm pretty sure that's the same one where he talked about Texas - how the country thinks it's diehard red and Republican, but it's really not. There are young, progressive people there who are going to change the face of Texas and when those 38 electoral votes go blue, it will change politics in the U.S. (I'm completely paraphrasing.) I keep telling my kids.. our generation (I'm 50), is still straddling that old school way of thinking, and it's their generation who will change the world. (My kids are 26, 23 and 20 and all liberals. I've heard that prediction that Trump will be back in 2024 to run again, but I told DH, that's four years of young voters who will age into being able to vote, and I'd put money that it won't happen. I can imagine it's hard to live in Texas, but I do have hope. Election by election, it gets closer, and eventually it will be the one who shines the most. (I live in Missouri, solidly red, and have been gritting my teeth for a while now).

Omg. GA currently a tie at 49.4%. I so hope Georgia flips. I think Biden is going to need it with so many votes outstanding in Nevada and Arizona tightening. I'm not sure he can count on those two states. NC won't go to Biden. Even if PA goes his way, a cushion of another state would make it harder for Trump to keep calling the results false.

I'm absolutely outraged that Lyndsay and Mitch got back in. Esp Mitch.. that's WAY too much power for one person. I have more Trump friends than I could have predicted before 2016 (sadly) and they're all fine with what he's doing/has done.
I'm grinding my molars down listening to Mitch block aid to people who need it most, and my fervent wish (if we can't take the Senate) is a tie - just so Kamala gets to be the tiebreaker.

Just now on Fox Lindsay graham and Ted Cruz just said they stand with Trump. I'm not seeing much distancing going on from those tweets (the ones from other republican senators underneath this one). Clearly, the hot new term is "legal votes".

I’m sad that so many people couldn’t put their high horse aside and vote for Biden over 3rd party candidates that were NEVER EVER going to win. Especially in THIS election.

My husband (a die hard republican who voted Biden) just said Trump should be tried for treason after he is dragged out of the White House. I agree. He's attacking the very fiber of what makes our system great. Inexcusable. He has been from day one when he refused to abide by the emoluments clause - He began by attacking the constitution- and they did nothing

dewryce AZ is scaring me because Biden's lead is decreasing, not increasing. I saw that, just mentioning how close it was I was expecting numbers closer, more like we are seeing in some other races. So thought I might have missed something or that the remaining counties were very red. Basically the gap is narrowing between Biden and Trump...but I am being told we will get PA and AZ will be ours too but probably with a narrow lead and not a lot(Biden might win by 2k votes in AZ). I am going to now stay positive and get some scotch🤣. Night sleepingbooty Thanks!
