Just had my first casualty on Facebook. This cousin that posted this has posted transphobic remarks in the past and I’ve tried to calmly talk to her to no avail. So today: fucking bye Felicia. http://instagr.am/p/CHTpWG7g91E I’m laughing bc whoever made this put Ohio on the blue side. I hate the sentiment, but as a Biden voting Ohioan, I’m ok with being on the blue side.

There is no way I can describe how happy I am today. Oh wait, I’m pretty sure we all are feeling the same way. Dancing in the streets I'm keeping it low key; I'm in a red state. In a red state here too, but my Biden sign is still in my yard and will stay there for few days. Ya, it's passive aggressive, but it's my "rrrrriiiiiigggghhhhhtttt!"

Yessss. Where do I sign up to have Dr. Jill Biden be head of education. No. No nepotism. I really think she is going to want to be there to support him at the WH. I do think she'll be a lot like Michelle Obama. Best part of this whole thing is that all of the EOs that Trump wrote can now be fixed quickly.

That state meme came out a while ago. I saw it on FB maybe at the beginning of the race. Not sure. Days and weeks have blurred in the last 48 months.

I’ve just been watching some coverage of Trump supporters railing against the election result . What shocks and worries me more than anything is the hate on the children’s faces, some of them really young. As a parent I can’t imagine or understand anyone wanting or allowing their children to become so angry and bitter . So damaging fur those children as they grow up. Shame on them!

The problem is that those who watch and believe him ARE that stupid. Tucker Carlson is an ass and a commentator. Certainly not what I would classify as a true journalist. Soooooo many people need to realize how to differentiate actual reporting and commentary these days. My poor kids have gotten an earful over the years on how to do so to the point they roll their eyes when I get on the soapbox over the difference, but hopefully, they are equipped into the future to see through BS like Carlson spews. That IS fake news. Makes my blood boil. He was so so bad this week. I admit I do not watch cable news in general as I detest the filling of the 24/7 news cycle when there is nothing to say so am not overly familiar with the different "personalities". But I was flipping between CNN and Fox on Tuesday and Wednesday for election results and Fox NEWS was actually pretty good - and then suddenly this moron Tucker showed up and I was like WTAF - he's on a different planet.

Quite frankly, white women continue to disappoint me (said as a white woman). There is a NY Times article about a study that is investigating the correlation between QAnon and polling errors. I saw it, because Mike Duncan who has made a name for himself via his extremely popular Revolutions podcast series, said that he would not be surprised if this was the story of this election, especially with white woman. I saw that particular tweet because someone else had made association between what is happening now and the Russian Revolution and the Marxist revolutionaries which represented the rural worker and Lenin and the Bolsheviks who represented the urban worker and recommended the Revolutions podcast. While I have not listened to them, DH has been listening to them since his original Roman Empire series. We think our circumstances are unique, but the world has done all of this before, and when people say, those that fail to heed history... we are still neck deep in this. Biden winning is only the first battle, and with those 70 million other voters out there, what happens next may be more predictive of this country's future than what happened on Tuesday. Someone else doing some early research into the demographics and while the story has been the black voter, and while that is certainly true in Georgia. In other places, like Milwaukee the Biden vote came from the white, suburban moms who did repudiate Trump, while black voter turnout was actually less. If it is inappropriate to paint black voters as a monolith, and Latino voters as a monolith, it is also inappropriate to treat white woman as a monolith. This election, there was a definite divergence, and if it is not acknowledged the solution of railing on white women will potentially alienate allies and do nothing to disrupt this extremely dangerous movement. www.nytimes.com/2020/11/06/technology/study-considers-a-link-between-qanon-and-polling-errors.htmlCertainly true? What poll suggests white suburban moms were responsible for a flip in Milwaukee? Georgia wasn’t the only state that had yuge numbers of Black voters! Milwaukee has the largest number of Black voters in Wisconsin and they came out vote otherwise a Biden victory wouldn’t have happened. Black women voted as a monolith so it’s okay to treat us like it because the numbers don’t suggest anything else 🤷🏾♀️As far as “railing” on white women and alienating allies....umm are they allies or QAnon members you seem to be labeling them both how? At any rate I’ll leave it to {other} white women to gather their friends and family especially if they have dangerous views. “Let’s start with Milwaukee and surrounding Milwaukee County, home to the biggest share of Black voters in Wisconsin. In 2012, Barack Obama won roughly 328,000 votes in Milwaukee County. Four years later, Clinton won fewer than 289,000 votes in Milwaukee County. The challenge for Biden wasn’t necessarily to get all the way back to that Obama 2012 number; rather, at the bare minimum, it was to split the difference between these figures. He did that and then some: With all the votes counted, more than 317,000 people in Milwaukee County voted for the Democratic ticket, and Biden needed every single one of them. It was a similar story in Detroit, a city that’s more than 80 percent Black, and surrounding Wayne County. In 2012, Obama won nearly 596,000 votes in Wayne County. Four years later, Clinton won fewer than 520,000. Once again, the question in Michigan—as in Wisconsin—was whether Biden could push that figure somewhere close to that Obama 2012 number, even if it was unrealistic to get all the way there. In fact, Biden got pretty close. With 100 percent of Wayne County’s ballots tabulated, Biden won 587,000 votes there, far surpassing Clinton’s performance from 2016.” www.politico.com/amp/news/magazine/2020/11/04/three-reasons-biden-flipped-the-midwest-434114I don’t think it’s at all factual to say Black people didn’t come out and vote in Wisconsin. Not sure where you got that information from but even if there is an iota of truth in that blame COVID (hitting Black people much harder than any other group) and voter suppression.

Darcy! Exactly!!! The Fox News Desk as in actual journalism, is pretty spot on regarding factual reporting. It's the commentator spin commentary that damages. When Fox called Arizona, the commentators (Carlson, Hannity etc. etc.) were actually taking their own decision desk to task over calling Arizona. Decision desk stayed firm. Therein lies the difference that sadly, people who watch just one channel for their "truth" get going off the rails. In my opinion, a very, very large reason why several of my Republican friends, took me to task on Facebook over COVID calling it all fake. Soooooo frustrating. And yes, there are left leaning channels that do the same. This is exactly why I read/watch a wide variety of news/social media which can lead to a pretty darn good educated guess as to the actual truth of the matter.

Later in the article, it also said that the Latino vote within the city of Milwaukee was also weaker for Biden over Clinton in 2016. My DH just arrived with our takeout, so I'll have to come back to see what I can find out about the demographics of the Milwaukee suburbs. I did find this little bit here: www.milwaukeemag.com/comparing-how-the-city-and-every-milwaukee-county-suburb-voted-in-2016-and-2020/But two Milwaukee County suburbs flipped from red to blue; Greenfield and Greendale both voted for Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016 but favored Biden over Trump this election. They joined the majority of Democrat-leaning Milwaukee suburbs; only Franklin, Hales Corners and Oak Creek voted for Trump in 2020.

Well well well..... What lovely news to wake up to this morning! With all the hours I've put in watching that damn map change colour, they could at least have waited until I was awake to finally call it! I am so very happy for you all, for us all, that the hideous monster is out. YOU'RE FIRED! Me too, but that's my own fault. I've got my hours backwards-I've been staying up all night and going to sleep at 8:00 am, then waking up at 5:00 pm. I woke up also to the news that Biden had won. Such amazing wonderful news! I wish I'd been awake to see it happen but I'm so very thrilled that Biden won. It's such a huge relief for me. Here's to the USA and the next 4 years! We did it! Oh yes we did!!!

Poor fake Melania will be out of a job too! I bet she's burning those wigs right now...she's not going to want anyone to think she's Melania any more.
I'm also looking forward to you having a first lady again, seeing as that position has been unfilled for the last 4 years.

There are plenty of people qualified to be Secretary of Education. Let the First Lady be the First Lady and define her own role. By all accounts she wants to keep her teaching job, just as she did when Biden was VP. I say more power to her!!

Hopemax and Olan, merely from reading your posts here, to me, one of the disconnects you are having is between quoted post vs. context of the linked articles. From what I'm reading, the white suburban/reduced black vote point, was very specific to two smaller precinct areas within Milwaukee County when comparing Hillary results to Biden results, while Milwaukee County as a whole definitely is due to black vote power overall for Biden and is the credit to win the state for Biden.
I could be totally wrong though. Lots of words/articles to read into all that was posted and I'm celebrating with more wine tonight.
Hugs!

They are covering it on TV here and the reporters are just chatting until Biden's speech starts...so they were just saying the a new President has to employ all these new staff - I was just thinking Joe could send out a group email saying "who wants their old job back?"...lol. Would save some time.
