There are plenty of people qualified to be Secretary of Education. Let the First Lady be the First Lady and define her own role. By all accounts she wants to keep her teaching job, just as she did when Biden was VP. I say more power to her!! She teaches where my ds1 goes to college. He is such a fanboy and has waited outside her classroom to get to see her in person (and this was 2 years ago). |

I’m just confused as to how they knew “bad things happened” if they weren’t in there to see them? Okay, perhaps those ballots were sent to people who didn’t ask for them. I’m not understanding how this makes their vote illegal. They were sent valid ballots I’m assuming as I haven’t read otherwise, and they didn’t have to use them. So... |

Hopemax and Olan, merely from reading your posts here, to me, one of the disconnects you are having is between quoted post vs. context of the linked articles. From what I'm reading, the white suburban/reduced black vote point, was very specific to two smaller precinct areas within Milwaukee County when comparing Hillary results to Biden results, while Milwaukee County as a whole definitely is due to black vote power overall for Biden and is the credit to win the state for Biden. I could be totally wrong though. Lots of words/articles to read into all that was posted and I'm celebrating with more wine tonight. Hugs! I was going to respond directly again, but as Olan said it's a time to celebrate, and I deleted it because I don't want to be parsing sentences and arguing semantics or make things worse. But now since you mentioned it, just a tiny reply. I was born in Milwaukee, East side, not a suburb, but grew up in a different state and when I heard Steve Kornacki mention a tidbit about how the actual numbers broke down it caught my attention, and all I was trying to do was share. Clinton didn't win Wisconsin, Biden did, and they were looking into the difference of how and where. Now that the election has been called, the numbers guys are going over the precincts and counties with a fine tooth comb. So there will be more of these. I'm sorry she thought I was trying to diminish the impact of Black voters. |

Something just hit me. How do you defeat bullies? Be excellent in spite of them. Biden was excellent tonight not only toward his base but for those like me in the center who while supported, have those little nagging things of disagreement over platform but are willing to dismiss for character.

I have to admit I shed a few tears, firstly when I saw all the faces of those women, and particularly women of colour when Kamala was speaking and secondly of relief that the days of Trump are really coming to an end.
