A president who says "we" and "you", not "I" and "me" over and over again. And other words" science, climate change, covid under control.
I just learned Kamala Harris is a step mom as well. Thumbs up in my book!

The more I see and hear of Joe Biden, the more convinced I am that the Democratic party picked just the right person for this election. I think that's very true, and the crucial thing he said was that he's "going to bring down the temperature" of the USA. I think he's the President that will calm everything down after the chaos, that will put the decent, educated, qualified people back into key jobs, build up your world standing again. His job will be to put everything back that Trump removed, fix everything that Trump broke. Then whoever is next will be the one with a solid foundation whose job it will be to move forward. I don't think anyone probably realizes the scale of what has been either decimated or neglected under this last government, and I'm sure Joe is going to have lots of surprises in the next few years.

I’m watching Kamala speak. Ya’ll, would that be considered a pussy bow on her blouse? ETA: after making that observation to myself, I poked around online a bit. She wore a similar blouse to the ACB confirmation hearing. I like this lady. Honestly you’re the first person I’ve seen comment on her clothes. A cnn analyst earlier today congratulated our country for not talking about her clothes. She is MORE than the clothes she wears. So I dgaf what she was wearing. I was listening to her words and crying. I dgaf either, but the fact that media are not commenting, and the fact that she rightfully feels comfy in wearing it taking her rightful place, is ah maze balls to this 58-year-old woman who has had to dress pretty masculine within her working history to be taken seriously and to get where I am. Women getting to BE women and wear what they want be it lace, bows or whatever, gives me one freaking incredible feeling right now.

Everything about Biden's speech was We, Our, and Us What a contrast from the "I" and "me" of the last 4 years. The more I see and hear of Joe Biden, the more convinced I am that the Democratic party picked just the right person for this election. That is what struck me the most. No bragging, angry ranting, blue state/red state bullshit. He didn't criticize Trump at all, I don't think he even mentioned him. He didn't say anything like "the greatest in the history of our country." So refreshing to listen to someone who actually sounds presidential.
I have said for months that when there were so many democratic candidates, and my bottom choice was Bernie, my second from the bottom choice was Biden. I was almost angry when it came down to those two. But I have been won over, and lisae, I agree with you.
I feel hopeful for the first time in 4 years. Now, we just have to get this pandemic under control and I will really sleep easy at night.

Seriously, this is the best an R friend has? "You know he was reading off a teleprompter right?"
Um, yes dude, I do. Just like Dwight Eisenhower first did in 1954 and every POTUS since.
I SHOULD have made the point that Trump even with a teleprompter STILL can't put a cohesive sentence together.

Maybe one of these days they will decide it is ok to wear pants that are not joggers.

What a breath of fresh air, both of those speeches! No bragging, no putting down Trump or Republicans, no arrogance. I honestly think I forgot what a President is supposed to sound like.
And Kamala Harris especially...I hung on every word. What an inspiration she is, and what an inspiration I believe she will continue to be!
More tears as the music played and the fireworks were going. Any other Schittheads love that they played Tina Turner's "Simply the Best"?

It was a great win in my household back in the day when my now 25-year-old son thought it was cool to have his undies hanging out of his pants. I don't judge others, but in my house? I don't want to see your drawers on a daily basis so pull those pants up while here. You on your own? Wear whatever you want.

What a fantastic event I loved having a feeling of hope again. I loved watching it with two young women 28-30 who are so inspired by Kamala Harris. Their team did a great job with the finale fireworks and lit up sign. And the music. I want that playlist!! They made a great outdoor event and I sure wasn’t missing another hotel ballroom speech like previous elections.

My faith in the office of the President of the United States has been restored! Both speeches were so reassuring. As someone on CNN said right after, normal is the new thrilling!

The more I see and hear of Joe Biden, the more convinced I am that the Democratic party picked just the right person for this election. I think there were several good candidates for this election, but as Covid appeared and other unfortunate consequences from Trump's choices kept arising, I thought that this guy is the right guy for what we need right now. Yes, he's old and white, but he is also such a good person who has experience, can bring together (for those that want to be brought together) a fractured nation, and can rely on scientists and facts to at least try to get us back on track. He needs to hire Pete for his hype man. That guy was on fire in every Fox interview I saw. I actually said Bazinga! now and then when he spoke.

I hope everyone sleeps well tonight. I watched those speeches and the people celebrating today and it felt so good. Having smart, decent people leading is something I will never take for granted. Joe was not my first choice but I know he’ll listen and surround himself with smart capable people. I’m thrilled to have him as our next president. I’m beyond excited for Kamala to have her position, historic.

lucyg you lied to me.... you told me - nay - PROMISED me, that we'd know about Nevada in 10-12 hours (so 5am - 7am my time). I got up at 4am and checked - nada. It's now after 8am - still nada. I’m 56 pages behind but I just saw this! Sorry about that.
