Because abnormal cells can still be present in the vaginal tissue/ walls. Any woman, even without a cervix, should still have Pap smears and exams performed regularly. I've been given the complete opposite information. My hysterectomy was done 3 years ago and I haven't had a pap test since then. Sounds like I should do some research. This is what the clinic I've been going to has told me for a year now. They're a cancer clinic, so I feel like their info is trusthworthy. I am so happy for you. If you've updated, I haven't seen it...how are you feeling physically/pain now? I'm hoping that you're well on your way to full recovery. I'm doing much better! I had a set back about 2.5 weeks ago -- I did too much one day (and it wasn't much at all, folded some clothes and went through last year's winter wardrobe, maybe swept the floor) and I was back on the couch in a terrible amount of pain for three days. And I felt SO unwell and sick, too. But now it's been a month, I'm still in pain constantly but it's more like a 2-3 out of 10. Driving really hurts, but fortunately there's really nowhere I need to go. This is wonderful news. My vote is that you keep having good news happen in your life. I'll second that! That's good news! Hope you're healing nicely. That's great news. You can relax now Hope you are feeling better, too. I am feeling SO MUCH better! On Yippy skippy! Feels good to breathe deep again doesn't it?! It's funny... my mom keeps telling me how much better I look, just since I saw the good news surgeon.
