We usually go to my sister's to celebrate with her and her boyfriend's family (not huge usually 7-10 people), but this year it's just us and the pups and a nice big turkey for lots of leftovers! We'll make our favorite sides and stuffing and I've got two pies (not sure it's enough) - a sweet potato pie and a cranberry lemon tart. Most of this is already cooked and ready to go. It's supposed to rain all day and we are really looking forward to relaxing, watching the Macy's "parade" and some movies and generally just relaxing. I hope you all have a good holiday no matter how you are spending it. It's good to be alive and be with the ones we love in any way we can. care to share the recipe? It sounds intriguing.

We usually go to my Mom's and there are several aunts and uncles there. This year we're staying home with just the 4 of us. I ordered a full thanksgiving dinner from Cracker Barrel so I don't have to spend the day cooking. The meal feeds 8-10 and one DS will only eat rolls, so we'll have lots of leftovers. I'm looking forward to making stuffing waffles with our tons of leftover stuffing.
We also usually eat holiday meals at 2pm. I'm thinking we're going to eat at dinner time instead. Tell me more about this. I would love to do the same.

Here it is: Food Network Cranberry Lemon Tart
This is my first time making it and the filling is delicious (I licked the pan ) and will make up for my wonky tart shell. I used my ninja smoothie blender to make the filling and did it in smaller batches since I don't have a regular blender.

We had planned on a smaller version of the traditional thanksgiving here with just the in-laws (my family is far too big to consider safe so we bowed out of that). Bought the turkey and all the fixings the other day. Today we buried my 42yo brother in law and dh decided he just can’t do thanksgiving. So we stopped and picked up a prime rib, mil/fil might come over if they’re up for it but most likely it’ll just be the 4 of us. I’m so sorry!

We usually travel to MA to see my stepson the day before Thanksgiving and stay in MA and eat out on Thanksgiving on our way home. This year we are home. We got a 12 pound fresh turkey and will eat here. I can’t even remember ever cooking Thanksgiving dinner at home.

You are very thoughtful to not insist on the traditional meal. I am cooking/heating the premade meal for DH, me, and DD. Last night I delivered part of it to MIL & BIL. I'll drop off the rest hot this afternoon. We probably would have all driven 2 hours north early this morning, so I could cook dinner at my parent's house. My dad can no longer travel.

Definitely not a normal thanksgiving. I have to work starting at 3:45. I will cook a few things and exchange them with a friend who is cooking a few things. On typical years that I worked (every other year) I had thanksgiving with my best friend and her husband because I wasn’t able to go and have it with my family. She passed away unexpectedly last year but her husband and I will each cook part of dinner and exchange for this year. Kind of just another day. Hahaha. Sharing the cooking is genius!

We’re having everything that we normally do, just less of it since extended family and friends are not joining us today.

We trade hosting with some good friends but a relative of theirs decided to fly in from Texas so we opted out and rented a small place in the Washington coast. We brought all our food and spent hours walking on the beach searching for “treasures”. Dinner was crab and shrimp along with a veggie and cheese platter.

We stayed home all day. Just the kids, me & DH. We’ve never done that on a Thanksgiving. Usually they are spent going to at least three different places beginning with breakfast.
Today was very relaxing. We cooked breakfast all together. Ate all meals together. Did crafts. FaceTimed our family. And now are having a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon. It’s actually been a very nice day.

We took the dogs to the groomer. We needed 4 appointments and she was staying home so she decided to open for us today. She is a Saint! After, we went for puppacinos and then came home to watch movies and eat tgiving sides.
