Where I work, Thanksgiving is a paid holiday off (which, thanks for posting this thread because I would have forgotten to enter it); Black Friday is not, though you can take PTO if you have it. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day are also paid holidays. (I don't know why the eves are, but I'm not complaining.)
I always have time left at the end of the year, so if I'm not the on call person, I will typically take PTO for the days between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve-- it's usually no more than three work days-- and just make it one long stretch. The last couple of years, I've used the time to really give my home a deep clean. I probably will not take it this year, though-- I've just got stuff to catch up on.

I work for a large state university and in normal times we get Thanksgiving and the day after off, and we are off Christmas Eve until the first weekday after New Years for winter break.
This year, the university is struggling due to COVID and we were furloughed the three days before Thanksgiving and the three days before Christmas Eve. We also have to take three more days during the fiscal year at our discretion. Those nine days equal the 5% pay cut we had to take to balance the budget. We lost all of our part-timers in April and in October they cut a few full timers. I was happy to take the cut if it meant no one else was laid off.
I’m enjoying the extra time off.

I’m self employed so I get what I give myself. Usually I stop the 23rd with special orders and then nothing until the new year. I may take the odd small cake but that would be it.
DH’s work always shuts down between Christmas and New Years, so he is off from the 24th until January 2nd. It is nice!

My DH is a professional pilot. He will be home this year for Christmas day for the first time in many years. And only because he is off work recovering from heart surgery. Otherwise, he usually isn't here any of the time our kids are off school for Christmas break, and he almost always gone for Thanksgiving. We are very good at celebrating at random times 🙂

Our office closes the week before Christmas and re-opens the first working day after the New Years Day public holiday. So this year it is closed from Monday 21st December until Monday 4th January. Luckily my department is required to continue working right through, and we only close on the public holidays. I say "thankfully" because I don't necessarily want to take that time off work. I'd prefer to save my annual leave for when I actually want to use it. We do work with reduced staff between Christmas and New Year, and we alternate who works each year.

I work in the gift card industry. We are not encouraged to take time off between mid-Nov and Christmas Eve. There are some folks who do (Marketing for example as they really have emery thing all lined up). I manage our websites, so even if I took time off, I’d still be on call/stressing.

I work for a University. I’ve always gotten Thanksgiving and the day after as well as Christmas Day and New Years Day. Last year the added Christmas Eve And New Years Eve. This year we are being given 2 floating holidays as well to use by February, as a thank you for dealing with the issues brought about by COVID. Any additional time off needs to be vacation time, but it’s difficult because we need 2 people working each day to perform one aspect of my job and only 4 people have access to the system. And all 4 want to take some time off.

I get the week of Thanksgiving off, and two weeks at Christmas/New Years.
DH gets almost no time off this time of year, in normal years. He’s a sportscaster and there are lots of events - usually - in November and December. He currently is supposed to have a broadcast next week - his first since February:/ - but it’s probably going to be canceled.

We are closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day always. Whether we have off Christmas Eve and NY eve depends on how the weeks fall and how much we can get done. We arent allowed to take time off after Dec 15 or so.
Dh saves up vacation time and usually manages to get 2 full weeks off at the end of the year, using 5 or 6 PTO days. His company is closed on the Eves and the Days.

My company is 24/7/365. There are no days off/holidays unless it falls on your normal day off. I work Mon-Fri, so any holiday that falls during the work week costs me PTO. I’m lucky that after 15 years, I’m given pretty much unlimited freedom to manage my own schedule. Nobody questions my hours or days I want off. But if I was the type to take advantage, they would.
I find it harder to take time off because I’m in a one deep position. To take off I have to recruit people to do my daily tasks when I’m gone. A couple of days, it can slide, any longer than that and I have to make arrangements.
