technically they are your grand-niece/grand-nephew but in popular usage great-niece and great-nephew are commonly used. Same with great-aunts and great-uncles - technically grand-aunts/grand-uncles but great is commonly usedI'm feeling old (at 50 mind you) with great-grandnieces/nephews - my sister-in-law's great-grandchildren My brother George loves introducing himself to his siblings' grandkids by saying, "Hi. I'm Uncle George. That's GREAT Uncle George to you!"
One more box of gifts to get ready for the post office: the rest went postal today. Once that monkey is off my back I really want to scrap some pages! I need to do a December page for the next family calendar, but since I will not be seeing the grandkids, i need to depend on them or their parents to send me photos. Have some cute pic's of dd's boy, but he is on the current calendar's December page, so I need to get pic's from the other families...

I definitely feel too young (at age 51 ) to have two grand-nephews, but I do - I call them "my niece's kids" as well, grammadee. I never use the terms great-nephew, sounds too odd. I'm 35 and I have 3 1/2 (the 4th is due this month) great nieces and two great nephews. My siblings are much older so I was an aunt at 9 plus both sibs ended up with older stepkids. (My sister's stepson is a few months older than me)

My brother George loves introducing himself to his siblings' grandkids by saying, "Hi. I'm Uncle George. That's GREAT Uncle George to you!" DH likes to do this also - our grandnieces/nephews range from 2-27 and the great-grandnieces/nephews are newborn to almost 4, I think. My 14y/o is the youngest of the 1st cousins - the oldest is almost 49 - he always likes pointing her out as his little cousin (2/3 of his kids are older than her, the 3rd is 13m younger and for the longest time they could pass as twins) I'm 35 and I have 3 1/2 (the 4th is due this month) great nieces and two great nephews. My siblings are much older so I was an aunt at 9 plus both sibs ended up with older stepkids. (My sister's stepson is a few months older than me) here also - my older sister is 20 years older than me and I was an Aunt at 7. DH had 6 older siblings and was an uncle at 18m

My packages are going out tomorrow. I'm making a final Costco run before the holidays this morning. Then, back to my scrappy place!

No scrapping for me today but I’m contemplating opening my pocket card grab bags to see what I got. Not sure if I even have the energy for that.

I want to go to TM soooo bad! Gotta be good, gotta be good. I ask myself, what do I even wish I will find there? I can't even keep up with the scrapbooking/paper/all the things I already own.

We can meet up there after we get our vaccines, lol! I wasn't a big shopper before, but I am really dying to go to TM, Home Goods, IKEA, a mall...

I'm back. 10:15 at night and I am thinking about reorganizing my scraproom again. Tearing it all apart. Really gutting it and starting to rearrange. I think I have too many tables. I want a cutting station. I hate where my cricut is. DH says I am just bored and we should watch a movie. But it's like an itch I can't scratch...must.drag.furniture.around.

I'm impatiently waiting for my November photos to arrive. Not that I'll have a ton of time or energy to scrap them. But I still want them.
All this talk on the board about making a cutting station, and I'm wanting to make one for my ZipeMate. I can't even remember the last time i used it.

I almost scrapbooked today.
I nearly scrapbooked.
The closest I got was sorting my November photos.
I have a freaking ton of election related photos.
I also kept an obscene amount of general election related mailings this year (i swear i was getting at least one a day).
I have a printed sheet of election cut apart cards.
Dare I make several pages about it? Would it be weird to do? Will I still find it funny/interesting a decade from now?

Dare I make several pages about it? Would it be weird to do? Will I still find it funny/interesting a decade from now?I think it would be safe to say that everybody will still be talking about this for longer than a decade. The pandemic is like the stock market crash of 1929. This election--and the aftermath--is pivotal in almost everyone's minds right now, in your country and around the world. Hard to scrap an on going event, but you could certainly get the photos and the supporting info and PL cards in place. You might want to wait to do the journaling until things have settled down a bit? I can understand if you are a bit hesitant, afraid to jinx anything. Aren't you the one who had planned her "First Woman President" pages in 2016?
If you are looking for ideas, joblackford has her pandemic journal pages on Flickr. You could probably get tons of ideas from looking through those, even if you are using a different page size, different style.

Dare I make several pages about it? Would it be weird to do? Will I still find it funny/interesting a decade from now? Thanks for the shout out grammadee I made a few pages about the election in my pandemic book, which was my only scrap project at that time. I did a page with photos of all my friends putting their mail in ballots in the boxes - I asked if they would send me pictures or if I could screenshot their IG posts. I put in some Bye-Don memes and signs and screenshots of the results and IG celebrations and notes about the imagined controversies. I printed an article about the Four Seasons press conference and folded that onto a page because, really, how could I not?! I should probably go add in some details about the court cases and how many times it’s been announced that Joe Biden definitely won in the 5 weeks (since I “finished” that notebook) I definitely support making pages, if you feel called to do it. It’s a pretty big deal, and your perspective on it has value. Would you want to read your foremother’s thoughts on the election of Nixon, or how they felt about the extremely contentious 1876 election and compromise that ended Reconstruction? Maybe you wouldn’t like what they wrote, but dang, it would be fascinating to read everyday, personal opinions about stuff that’s in the history books, or should be. Which is not to say you should feel pressured to write history! Even if it’s just a page of memes or cartoons and some collaged election flyers, I think it all has value. And if you don’t care in a decade, shrug. You can flip past that bit or throw it out, same as any other pages.

Dare I make several pages about it? Would it be weird to do? Will I still find it funny/interesting a decade from now? Ok I never scrap things like elections etc. BUT when was the last time in your lifetime people literally danced in the streets when the winner was called? When was the last time other countries gave a damn what we did that our election results were front page in multiple countries? We surpassed the suspense of the hanging chads. This is something that will stick around in people minds for quite some time to come. I made an insert in my PL, I say go for it.

I don't scrap a lot of current events, but I did a hope layout yesterday about the vaccine.
I printed out a photo of our governor with the first delivery, one of vials of vaccine, a headline saying it was approved, and a photo of armed guards for it.

Once upon a time I had several pair of cutter bee scissors. All are gone and tonight, finding gunk on my titanium scissors that I have been using for everything, I decided to just order myself a new pair of teflon scissors because it is too close to Christmas to ask anyone. Well I go on amazon, find just what I want, and see, "You purchased this item on December 6, 2020." Oops! Looks like I did put them on my Christmas list after all. I truly wonder what else I've forgotten I asked for?

I got as far as setting up a HOPE cutfile on my Silhouette, kind of with the idea of cutting the word out of the page and then putting photos behind the letters. But have not even cut it yet.
I scrapped a Christmas Eve photo of our four kids from 1983 today. That was fun. First page I have put together all month. I have in hand one pic from Christmas 1987, and am pretty sure I know where to find at least one from each of 1984 and 1985. If I find some time this weekend, I may be scrapping those...

Today I will have time to scrap! I have so much emotional energy for it, and have been looking forward to it all week.
Yesterday I made a point to take photos of my younger kids playing in the snow.
And earlier this week I took screenshots of the livestreamed virtual award ceremony my teen was part of hosting, and also happened to win a category in.

I find that once I get into scrapping pages, each one comes more easily.

I did get to scrap today, and hope to work on more tomorrow.
I focused on my November pandemic layouts.
I did my grim milestones page, which includes a number of dates and the global and USA case numbers & death count.
Did a Thanksgiving page. Included info & pics about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and how it was year.
Did a page about my work, one about our city, and one about the school district decision to remain virtual for the foreseeable future.
I also found a "hope" 3 dimensional sticker to use on a page about the vaccine. (Was inspired by other peas on a thread here).

Good job, LavenderLayoutLady! This morning, I put together a third page so of past Christmases when I had group shots of the kids. So far, I have 1983, 1985 and 1988 done. It's fun to use new scrappy supplies with old photos! Today my Elizabeth Crafts order arrived. It includes a die set for gingerbread house and people. Ddil sent me pic's last week of ds putting together a house with their boys, so now I have a fun new toy to use when I scrap it. Pic is still on my phone, though...

I just placed an order for some December prints. I took more photos of Christmas preparation than I normally would, as well as some photos of the tree, garland, and ornaments.

Went through some older homemade holiday cards and sent out about a dozen of them (wasn't going to send any at all this year). But it was good and not too much. Just don't have the whole 70 card thing in me this year.

Just don't have the whole 70 card thing in me this year. I applaud you! I still haven't sent mine out. I was all about to fill out some store bought ones (that I bought years back) when I actually read the message and realized that it said something about gathering with loved ones, etc, etc and I realized how tone deaf it was to send during these times. I have to dig out other cards later after work.

Yesterday I was digging through the recent months' photos, and realized there are several things I still haven't scrapped.
Big Halloween (just our household) party? Nope, still sitting there.
An autumn birthday? Still waiting.
Autumn pics and fall colors? Haven't touched them.
I'm hoping to make some time to play with those pics.
