Two guys in DH's office went for COVID tests the day after Thanksgiving. They may have been showing symptoms on Wednesday. DH was in the office all week, and they were probably contagious before showing symptoms. DH is pretty good about wearing a mask, but he does let his guard down when he is in the room by himself and does not always mask up promptly when someone else enters.
DH started showing symptoms Saturday morning, and I started on Sunday. We went to the University rec center for testing Monday morning when they were doing both University and community tests free of charge. I got to go the the University express line since I am staff (DH was jealous LOL). My test process took about 15 minutes, and I went back to the car to wait for DH, who had an hour-long wait to test.
The University pays for expedited testing, and I had my results back that evening--positive. DH didn't get his positive results until Wednesday evening. I even knew before the two patient zeros from DH's office.
I have been pretty miserable, but I know it could have been so much worse! We have been able to quarantine from our DDs for the most part, but they are both awaiting test results, and I am pretty sure they will be positive as well. We were in close contact doing a lot of cooking this weekend, and both are showing some mild symptoms now.
I haven't lost my sense of smell or taste, and while I have had an off and on low-grade fever, it hasn't been bad. The worst part has been the muscle aches and the headache! And fatigue! Apparently COVID turns you into a cat because I have been sleeping as much as 20 hours per day.
The best advice I can give is make sure you have a pulse oximeter to measure blood oxygen levels. I have measured mine as low as 92-93%, but a couple of hits of albuterol gets it back into the 95 and higher range. I was not feeling out of breath, and I don't really have any chest congestion, so I would never have predicted my levels would be that low. I test every time I wake up, and if I need to use my inhaler, I do.
The good news is that I did NOT go to Mom's for Thanksgiving! That could have been disastrous.

Sorry you got it! Were the coworkers masked or no?
I hope you all feel better soon with no major symptoms!

Oh, I'm so sorry and I hope everyone's symptoms continue to be mild and that your daughters actually don't have it. Please take good care of yourselves...and sending you well wishes.
Also, I agree with the oximeter. They're only about $15, and your physician will be so glad to have the info it provides!
Feel better soon!

Yes, we have pulse oximeters. As soon as I found some available a few months or so ago, I ordered them up. Two, just in case.

I hope you continue to feel well.
My nephew in Switzerland got it. Super mild case. His mom got it and she had a mild case as well. Both of them lost taste/smell and in the past 4 weeks haven't gotten in back. Mom's older son (30) from first marriage got it and it's bad. They are all beyond super healthy and active and now he's headed to the hospital. You never know.
Why oh why won't people (not you, OP) take precautions?

Yikes, I’m sorry to hear you’re all sick. Hope it goes away quickly and no one suffers too much.
I bought a pulse oximeter last spring. My sister borrowed it when she got sick but she tested negative, anyway. She gets exposed to COVID regularly at work, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she actually did have it one of those times she tested negative.

So I guess I should purchase a pulse oximeter, huh? Is this something that everyone has, like with a thermometer and I just didn't know to order one?
I have asthma and I know there are times that I just can't get enough air in. I also have 2 different inhalers, a pill, and a nasal spray all to help me with my breathing. I suppose my doctor would appreciate having that information. I also have sleep apnea and the software with it will show if there has been a large variance in blood oxygen. Mine does show that a couple of times a week. No one has contacted me from the company to tell me I'm in a position to be concerned though, so I am assuming I am alright. They monitor my stats and useage regularly.

Hope you feel better soon. All the times I've wished I was my cat but I hope I don't get that wish anytime soon! We do have pulse oximeter. Good reminder.

Hope you’ll all be better soon. Keep an eye on how much of your inhaler you need and how often you use it though. Don’t want to frighten you but from what I understand your breathing difficulties can turn very quickly. Hope it’s not the case for you or you family.

A pulse oximeter is a great thing to have if you have covid. Praying you feel better soon. Don't hesitate to go to the hospital if you have trouble breathing.

Since you have asthma, I think a pulse ox would be a good thing to have around. They are not expensive. The first one I bought back in March was overpriced due to the pandemic, but my DD and I both have serious breathing issues when we get a cold, so I felt we should play it safe and get one.
The second and third I bought (one for DD to keep for herself and one for my mom) were only $15-20 on Amazon.

If my oxygen levels drop and won't come back up with the albuterol, I will be seeking medical help. So far that hasn't been an issue, though.

Don’t want to frighten you but from what I understand your breathing difficulties can turn very quickly. Hope it’s not the case for you or you family. That's exactly why I bout the pulse ox. It has been really helpful to monitor when I need the inhaler and when I don't. I don't want to "overuse" it, but I also don't want my levels dropping to where it is hard to bring them back up. My morning readings are typically 93-94, but after the first albuterol, they come up to about 95-96, and a bit later another dose gets me to 97ish.
The first couple of days, it was more like 91-93 in the morning, and I was happy to be at 95.

I am good about taking precautions: no unnecessary trips out of the house, always masked in public, follow handwashing protocols, social-distancing, etc.
DH is pretty good about taking precautions, but he isn't nearly as careful as I would like him to be. He works in a very large room by himself for the most part, so he is sort of automatically social-distancing. However, I would bet the ranch that he doesn't wear a mask when he is working alone (and maybe it isn't absolutely necessary), but he also is not the type to automatically reach for the mask if someone walked into the room.
