What is your least favorite part of the scrapping process? I dislike resizing my photos, but I love the results. So, I resize sometimes. I use photo sheet and it’s not hard, just another step, you know. What about all you? Anything you don’t like doing, but like how it looks in the end?

My least favorite part is trying to locate the product I want to use. I spend too much time trying to find what I want. Yep, that’s always a pain. I took the time awhile back to go through all my paper and put together papers that I thought I would use together on a layout in storage bags. I sort of made my own kits, but just with paper. If I had any embellishments that matched I would put those in there also, but it’s mostly paper. This was really from just odd papers and embellishments I had. Nothing that belonged together in a collection. It really helps when I scrap because it limits the paper search some. |

Definitely getting photos ready to go. The whole process: selecting, editing (which often involves making 2 3x4 collages to print in a 4x6), ordering, waiting to receive/picking up. Ughhhhhhhh.
I just want the photos to show up in a tidy pile on my desk exactly how and when I want them.

Oh yes! I struggle with that too. I prefer the look of typed journaling, but then I also get the idea behind using your own handwriting. I always do journaling last and usually just want to be done. |

Getting photos ready: selecting, deciding which to put into 3x4 format, printing at the kiosk at WM which is cheaper and sometimes more convenient than using my Selphy printer. Then journaling.

I think for me it’s the picture process of choosing which ones I want to use, editing (I typically do a full edit of each picture), resizing and configuring to go on a sheet. It takes so much time but in the end I’m happy I did it!
The journaling also isn’t a favorite for me! I never quite say what I think sounds right.

With that said, totally like reading what I wrote years ago and find myself missing journaling on layouts that don’t have it. My mind is a complicated place, folks.

Definitely the photos. I’m another one who would like them magically ready on my desk when needed.
I used to struggle with journaling then I started asking myself what story the photos sparked if I was sitting with someone and they were asking about the photos. That is the point of view I use now when journaling. I also journal how I speak. For me it worked and I no longer stare at a blank page trying to think about what to say. Some layouts are just the 5 W’s. I’m totally fine with that too. Very low pressure.

The whole photo process. Deciding on size, editing, Photosheet, uploading, and ordering. I can see why people get into other paper crafts but memory keeping is important to me so I know other paper crafts wouldn’t be satisfying to me.

I know it's not a part of everyone else's scrapping, but my least favorite part is harassing my family for their photos and videos. They usually say they'll give me what I want for a holiday gift, but when I ask for the actual files they're too busy. They eventually give them up, but it takes a lot of needling by me to get them.

msliz do you have an iPhone? If yes, you can ask family members to airdrop the photos while sitting and chatting. You can also start an album and have everyone drop their photos to the album. I’m not a young hip tech person so I’m sure there are easier ways but these 2 have worked really well for me to finally get photos from my friends and family.

Tools. I'm not very coordinated, and if there's a way to make a mistake with a hole punch or a paper trimmer I have found it. I have never met a tape dispenser that I couldn't mess up. Fine line bottles? Pffft. Not even once.

Journalling! But not because I don't like it - because I LOVE it (the act of writing and having it there to read later) I am a TOTAL perfectionist about it and that can throw me off! I often put it off for weeks or months because I'm stressed about getting it right! Working on remedying that at the moment, but that's the truth right now!

I will sometimes know even when I am TAKING the photo which specific items I could use to scrap it. But then I get home with the photo in hand and start looking for that item I am SURE I own, and of course it has gone AWOL. After I have looked high and low for the item, I will think well maybe I used it already? Or didn't buy it in the first place; just wanted to buy it? Or (in the case of a die or an embossing folder) maybe I lent it to a friend?
Then I will scrap the photo(s) and move on. And I will like the way the page(s) turned out. But then that pesky item will suddenly appear, only to mock me until the next time I need it. I had a circle diecut of a little guy skiing cut from an OA sheet that turned up on my desk three years in a row, right AFTER I had scrapped the skiing pages... |

Clean up. Specifically anything that I need to wash. I feel like that wouldn’t be an issue if I had a sink in my room. I hate going to the kitchen.

Finding what I know I have. I am organized, but sometimes my paper will go MIA and then show up after I have given up.
Tonight I went looking for Avalanche paper I knew I had. I went to the Sports section (of my paper) and found it immediately. But when I pulled it out, about 30 other sheets came with it and went splat on the floor. I scooped them up and put them back, but I know some are not in order and when I go to look for soccer paper, it will be missing.

Yes! I made the process somewhat better by printing at home. Still don’t like photo editing, but love printing at home. This changed my whole flow when I started doing it about 5 years ago (selphy). No more trying to figure out what to send to Costco/Walgreens, etc. Just scrap what I want, when I want, in the size I want (have to use my other printer for >4x6) Yes, it costs a bit more per print, but it's so worth it to be able to scrap on the fly. And I don't really buy a lot of the supplies (define 'a lot'  ) so I feel like I can spend more per print to scrap in a way that works for my style/time. |
