Binged the entire thing in one day (which I've NEVER done before). It was the perfect day after Christmas show. I LOVED it. I've read the first 3 books and feel like it was pretty true to the books. Each book focuses on the story of one sibling so I'm not surprised on how it ended and wrapped up the story nicely. If you watch, please do no expect historical accuracy. It's a fun, colorful, highly entertaining romp.

I'm watching it with my daughter. Thought she'd enjoy the costumes. She's enjoyed shaking her head at the idea of a women's value starting and ending with marriage. Pretty sure she enjoys Eloise way more than Daphne - and she DETESTS Anthony. I think they might have gone a bit far with him - he was way more likeable in the books even when he was being overbearing.

I love it! Never heard of this before, never knew there were books until I opened this thread. But dear GAWD! Somebody tell me who the actress playing Daphne reminds me of? With the sort of round mouth when it's closed. A little bit older than the actress from Bridgerton. I keep seeing her face in my head as a little distressed, like from a suspense film. I thought it might be Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place, but I don't think that's it. It is driving me mad! Help me, dear peas!! Also, I read today Bridgerton has been renewed for a second season with filming beginning in March. Yay!

I started watching as a result of this thread. Officially sucked in. Me too. I kept hitting the "next episode" link and was curled up in a blanket on the couch watching. I glanced at the clock and saw it was already 3:45 a.m.!!! I forced myself to shut off my computer mid episode to try to at least get a little sleep so that I didn't blow Sunday by being too tired. When I finally woke up at 11, I couldn't resist and although I told myself I would just finish the episode I had started while I drank my coffee, I was lying. I finished the entire series. I hadn't heard of the books so this was my first introduction to the story. I am now looking forward to the next season. And as a single woman, I totally enjoyed all the scenes with the Duke. What a handsome man with a terrific smile.

I read most of the early Bridgerton books back when they first released. I have been wary of trying this series. It's rare for a tv show to live up to a book.
That's me in a nutshell.

Her mum is Sally Webster (I don't think that's her name in it now but I haven't watched for years). I think they look similar.

I don’t remember Benedict’s story as much so I’m not sure what to think of that story line yet. I didn't love Benedict in the books (and I didn't love the Cinderella story he and Sophie had either, so maybe that coloured my view of him), I felt he was just too emotional and wishy washy as a character. I quite like what we've seen of his character in this series, and I hope he doesn't stray too far from what we've seen of him.

I started watching because of this thread. Very entertaining. Fun identifying the bits and pieces of music being used and love the dresses. Especially Penelope’s colourful gowns.

I finished last night and I enjoyed it. I wish it had more than 8 episodes. I loved the costumes and the soundtrack is fun. I had Mrs. Whistledown pegged early on but like the poster upthread, I wish they had held out on the reveal. I wonder if that was because they don't know if they'll get more seasons?
I think I dozed off a bit during the last episode. Can someone spoil what happened with Marina? I know the part with Whistledown, but after that...

Good to hear all the feedback about it. It's on my watch list and will be my reward when I finish some more of my goal of decluttering... 😁

Loved the costumes, the diversity, the flowers, and of course that gorgeous Simon! Fresh and entertaining.
I'm so glad that there will be more seasons!

penelope in the books always wore the wrong color for her skin/hair type because her mother "thinks yellow is a happy color and men marry happy ladies"..
then at one costume ball she dressed as a mermaid... not a good look.
In the books, off stage, marina marries the younger crane brother.. had twins and died of suicide when they were 7 or 8.. she was always sad and depressed.. was rescued by her husband from a pond.. died of fever . did not want to live.

Never read the books, but finished the series in a couple of nights because we have absolutely nothing going on thanks to COVID. I thought it was entertaining enough and I adored the costumes and sets. In all fairness I should probably mention I live in a redwood forest that was destroyed by fire in August so I'm a complete sucker for color and flowers and "life" right now.

Really loved Bridgerton! May need to read the books so that I don't have to wait, lol! And the big reveal confirmed my suspicions!

I binge watched it in one day after seeing the trailer a few times on Netflix. I have a love hate relationship with that autostart trailer.
I had never heard of it but really loved it. Especially the costumes.

The brother came back and they left together.

I read the series a while ago and just finished binge-watching all of the episodes. I really enjoyed the actors that played Simon (who wouldn't?!) and Daphne. I was let down by Colin as someone else said. I think Eloise was my favorite character.
Is the Bee significant for some reason?

SPOILER ALERT In the books, the father of the family died from a bee sting. Anthony’s story centered around his fear of a similar fate, so it seems to allude to the next season being Anthony’s story. I believe his was the second book as well.

I have recently watched Cabin In The Woods with my DD, and I was thining of Kristen Connolly who is the lead in that. I was wrong about her being 'older' though. But to me they have a lot of similar features in the face, and especially certain facial expressions were really similar to me. Anyway, I can sleep peacefully again now. It's been bothering me for days
