Happy new year crafty Peas
I'm making the Open socks (pattern pic below) in a yarn I got from Hobbii earlier last year, it's the finest yarn I've ever knit with and it's very slow going! I'm almost done with the first sock.
I usually make a list in December of the projects I want to do in the coming year, this years list says 'make Open socks' and that's it!
Way to go lainey! You will be done with your 2021 goals by 3 January! You over achiever you.

I just fell down that rabbit hole. I have never tried that type of stitching. Many moons ago, I was an avid cross-stitcher. Are the older SALs available on the website? I didn't see any.

Last year I was officially useless. I made hardly anything, and hardly did anything except work and have angst over Covid and medical appointments or the lack thereof. This year, no matter how rubbish I feel, I'm going to do stuff and make things. I've made 42 recycled Christmas cards and a handful of tags since Christmas. I've been donated/collected 3 big bags and a box of candle ends, and I've got my sh1t together in the kitchen to start making candles out of them again. DH restarts work on Monday after 2 weeks off. I had more time off over Christmas than usual too (6 days off, then 1 shift, then 4 days off) and everything resets on Monday for me too. I'm looking forward to getting back to hobbies again.

I think the SALs are only in the Facebook group. I downloaded the full 2020 on the last day it was released. I think she deletes the previous year's when she starts the new one because I never saw 2019's.

Hi! I'd like to join this year!--for motivation and accountability!
My main crafty things this year will be sewing and scrapbooking.
For sewing: I want to finish projects in progress. I have lots of ideas pinned on Pinterest that I want to do to use up fabric scraps. I have lots of old blue jeans to cut into squares and sew into quilts. I want to make denim picnic quilts for each of my children (4) to take when they get married.
For scrapbooking: I have lots of almost-finished pages that just need journaling then they'll be ready to put in the albums. I want to get photos organized (both print and digital). I want to get physical things digitized and backed up. Get the digital stuff backed up too. Get back into scrapbooking--both digital and physical.
I enjoy other crafts too and have projects to do so I will report as I get them done.
Happy New Year and may we all have a wonderful 2021 crafting!
Merilee

I am a scrap booker and about 3 months ago I found my tribe on Facebook. Kristina Sorge does daily if not weekly scrapbooking layout that are so different but also pretty easy. I am going to challenge myself to use more mixed media on my pages.
I just joined another challenge using your 6x6 paper pads to try and use them more. I just spent an hour picking 4 different 6x6 pads, 2 papers to use for backgrounds, letters and I am still looking for embellishments. You guys I am using paper that I have had for years. Basic Grey, sassafras and so much more. .
My only wish , which my still happen is to get my scrapbook room cleaned up and a little more organized. I am really feeling my mojo!
Kristina also has a group call Bash your Stash . You can also look up Redefined Kreative

Love that our craft thread is already 2 pages long and it's still just the first day of the month. Happy New Year of Crafting!
This may be a terrible idea - which is totally fine - but would anyone be interested in a craft project exchange this year? I would love to trade one of my snowflakes or a small basket for some handknit socks... (also - having no knitting experience, I'm not sure if that's an "even" trade!)

Happy New Year crafty peas! I am so excited to see this up to 2 pages also! My resolution is to post more often on the monthly threads, to motivate myself, and hopefully others.
2021 is going to have to be the year I get UFO quilts completed and my fabric organized. I have a backlog of quilts waiting to go to the longarm quilter, something like 15! I donate them to patients at the local dialysis center and the center has asked that I pause the quilt donations...due to COVID.
I appreciate everyone taking the time to share your projects. Very inspiring...Stay safe crafters!

Local art gallery done an art exchange this last spring after COVID started. It was well received. This is what I received: http://instagram.com/p/CAd_7arg4V7

seaexplore I am doing my temperature quilt out of the grunge polkadot fabric that came out a couple years ago. I had to order some of it so I can’t start yet but hopefully before the end of the month. I’m really looking forward to it. Emelle

Over the past two years I have been working on this quilt and finally finished the quilt top in June. It is my first and probably not the best choice for a beginner as it is made completely of 1-inch squares, except for the center panel that is 2-inch squares. I had a professional quilter put it all together and am so pleased with it. It is for my son. I am not willing to send it through the mail so will take it with me if we ever get to travel again.

ShesaRenegade, that's awesome! That is a challenging pattern for a first timer, and you did a great job. That kind of precision in piecing is a skill. I don't think I would trust the post with it either- I hope you get to give it to your son soon!

The person running Twiddletails quilt along is doing a moda polka dots. I have to figure out how much fabric to get. I have no idea.

I’m still debating whether or not to join this Murder Mystery Quilt project that someone posted about on the boards earlier. murdermysteryquilt.com/I have 10 days to decide, but I think I’m going to do it. I also have several quilt WIPs to finish plus several other scrapbook projects I want to do.
