I have to finish the shark blanket I have been making for my daughter. It was intended to be a Christmas present, but I couldn't finish it in time. I need to go get another skein of each color of yarn also. I broke the ring finger on my right hand a few days ago, so I won't be doing much until I can bend my fingers again. I have a gift planned for a friend, I have the pattern and bought yarn already so I can start that after. Her birthday is Feb 15th, so I have a goal. I'd like to make something for me too this year.

my3freaks wow! I'm sorry about the broken finger. I'm sure that puts a damper on your crochet. And just a tip because I know you are new to this. But if I've got a Christmas gift in the works I start in the summer. It's frustrating to me to have a deadline and feel like I'm in a rush. I'm sorry you didn't get the shark blanket done by Christmas Gah, you guys. I got a new winter coat for Christmas. I picked up some yarn to make a new scarf and I just can't get into doing it. I might have a scarf by April when I don't need one. Haha...

I've finished the first sock and there's a glaring mistake *screams in perfectionist* I've made my husband look at it closely and he claims it's not noticeable and that no one but me will know it's there. I only wear my socks indoors so he's right but I'm annoyed after so many hours of knitting a fiddly pattern.

I’m still debating whether or not to join this Murder Mystery Quilt project that someone posted about on the boards earlier. murdermysteryquilt.com/I have 10 days to decide, but I think I’m going to do it. I also have several quilt WIPs to finish plus several other scrapbook projects I want to do. I signed up! I’ve never done anything like this before but it seemed a good choice for 2021. I’m trying to stay off Facebook but if there were enough peas doing it, maybe we could have a once/month thread. Emelle

You got a list of different colored fabrics but other than that you’re on your own. I bought the four main fabrics and then I thought for the other ones I would just use my stash. Emelle

Even if we don’t have enough peas for a separate thread, we can motivate each other (and others) here!

Fabric has been purchased. The girl child picked this fabric line.... $140 later..... plus a die.... BUT since I had to get 1 yd. minimum of each color and for some I only need a fat quarter, I SHOULD have enough to do the backing in large solid color blocks. Need to figure out what color to bind it but I have more than enough time to do that! Also need to purchase the batting but again, plenty of time. I have LOTS of sewing to do before I can do that! www.connectingthreads.com/fabrics/swirl-tonals/c/429

sueg more great knits, love them, you are being really productive I have decided that one of my goals for this year (note: goal, not resolution!) is to concentrate on fewer things, and get them finished, rather than having multiple projects on the go, and never getting anywhere. These two projects were started in September and November, with one of them sitting for about a month just needing ends woven in. I am really going to try not to have that happen so often this year.

gillyp I've completed the main body of my queen, I need to watch Tinna's border video all the way through. Twice I've tried, twice I've fallen asleep after ten minutes! What have you found to be hard about the start?

What have you found to be hard about the start? I’m not very good at recognising where to place the ‘foundation’ stitches on the sides, it’s easier on the top and bottom. It’s hard to pick up the foundation stitches too, as Tinna says, but it’s looking ok now I’m a few rows in. I’ve done the back and am two rows in at the front. I took a screenshot of someone’s tips for borders. I’ll find it for you to see along with the video.

Yes, this is why I was finally able to finish the quilt. I really have those "squirrel" moments when I see a new, shiny craft that I want to try and leave the old one unfinished. I am currently working on a crochet throw that I want to finish within the next few weeks that I've been working on for over a year. It's an easy stitch, but I am tired at night and even the thought of counting sometimes is too much...haha.

Wow! All you knitters and crocheters (is that even a word?) are super talented! Such beautiful work, all of you. I'm in between quilts at the moment but I have several ideas for new projects swimming around in my head. I finished this little table topper yesterday. It looks a little washed out in this picture. The colors are richer in person.

Hi all. Just joining this thread. All of the pictures posted are amazing! I’m finishing up sewing some microwave bowl cozies for friends. I have been mentioning how often DH and I use ours and everyone I’ve made them for swears they love them. I’m also making a couple of pot holders for myself and finishing knitting a scarf for charity. I’m trying to get these things done so I can start on these twelve days of Christmas felt ornaments. All of my supplies have arrived so I’m ready to start!
