PaperAngel thank you for the update. Those prices are HIGH compared to a year ago, aren’t they? I used to spend a small fortune at TM each month but not with those prices.

PaperAngel thank you for the update. Those prices are HIGH compared to a year ago, aren’t they? I used to spend a small fortune at TM each month but not with those prices. Although still less than retail, it seems each item is marked a couple dollars more than pre-pandemic prices. As scrapaddict702 pointed out upthread, the Simple Stories foam stickers ($3.99/ea) are only $1.00 less than MSRP (ETA: see here & there) & approximately double the $1.99-$2.19 Tuesday Morning price of equivalent Thickers/Sticko stickers previously sold there. Similarly, 3-pack embellishment bundles ($6.99) used to be $4.99, bundles with collection kits plus 1-2 embellishment packs ($11.99) were $9.99, etc. Given the reduction of square footage for the craft area, I expect fewer supplies to be stocked. Hopefully they’ll be good ones, not more (at least decade old) Karen Foster 25-ct packs of the same thin, obscure-themed, 1-sided papers or equivalent.

I didn't like the price hike either. I was very descriminate in what I actually bought.

I got there two days later than normal. I found a few Simple Stories packs that I really liked. I also bought the Thickers at $3.99 (not happy about the price), but they were 2 bucks cheaper than online. When I priced what I got online, it was $26. I paid $16 with no shipping cost. So I saved $10, but I really have to like the pack to want to buy it.

There is a TM near the hospital where my DH is. I stopped by for a very brief peek a couple of days ago. The craft aisle has definitely shrunk. It takes up almost as much aisle space, but there is far less of everything. I am usually a sucker for the 25 sheet packs (of one design) if I find papers that I like. They had a lot of the 25 sheet packs, but the packaging was flimsier, the papers seemed thinner, and I didn’t see any that I particularly wanted or needed. Prices do seem to be higher.
I left without buying anything. I was just curious to see what everyone was describing.

Oftentimes we get what others get, but then sometimes other items show up later. Kind of makes you wonder how the warehouse gets items prepared for shipment. They all have the same stickers with the same dates on them, but the arrival date is off. I always wondered this when they only had one warehouse several years ago.

I'd rather make the drive and spend my money at Crafts Direct in St. Cloud. Oooooo....I forget about Craft's Direct for some reason! I might have to take a small road trip next weekend...I haven't been there in over 2 years. Thanks! I recently went to Crafts Direct! It was still AMAZING--scrapbooking is still going strong there! All those rows--all the paper, stamps, dies, everything. And all the recent lines from everywhere too, which were great to see in person as I liked different ones more than I expected, and others less. Seems like so much more than is on their website. Highly recommend a trip there!! The new Maggie Holmes line now has a white background, which was a very nice change. But the colors were brighter and leaning towards pastel-neon, which I didn't like, to me it was almost like they didn't calibrate it for the white vs. cream backgrounds. But someone else may love those really bright pastel colors, and I was glad it was not as dingy/vintage as many of her recent lines, so I do hope they continue with the white. The Simple Stories Spring Easter line looked very Crate Paper-esque and I was impressed with. The new Heidi Swapp looked great, modern, etc. etc. It was so great to be able to see everything and to be able to mix and match accurately again (make your own kit kind of shopping). I am planning to regularly make a trip to this great store.

Highly recommend a trip there!! You are so lucky! I wish I had a store like that near by or even sort of near by. I went TM on Friday. I came out with a Sizzix falling hearts die and one of the previously mentioned MME bundled packs of 6x8 pad ephemera pack 6 sheet sticker pack For me it was completely worth it for $11.99. Retail for all 3 items is around $23, and the stickers are not like the thin AC sticker books. They have some weight in them. This is not normally what I would buy, but I was looking to make only cards out of it, so this was perfect. scrapbookgeneration.com/brands/my-minds-eye/just-chill/

Getting a steady supply of Simple Stories would be great at TM, I will keep my eyes peeled. (Although I really don't know the right day to go to TM--which isn't good when the crafts are so light.)

Nothing new. Per clerk, this week’s delivery was small, taking less than an hour to unpack & stock, & didn’t include any crafts.

I am planning to regularly make a trip to this great store. I just found them online and simples stories and a few other brands were on sale for 30 percent off, on the next sale I’ll be placing an order. I wish they were local to me. I’d love to be able to buy everything in person. The only in person local stores don’t stock what I want and Joanns only gets certain collections, so the rest of course I order online.

My store had downsized to one side of an aisle. Sad. They also pulled for the 20% off (items from 12/20 and earlier). They had four tall stacks of paper in that area. Lots of the 10 sticker sheets, the Authentiques packs, and the $14.99 Mega packs. So at least much of it will now start walking out the door.

I went today and saw the 20% (purple sticker) off the Authentique which was still too much for me. I didn't pick up anything ( and they even brought out their cart of new products and there was nothing from SS or other new stuff that I've heard has been showing up). I did pick an acrylic container in the beauty depart that was also 20% off and when I checked out it was 60% off so I'm not sure if the Authentique may have rung up for a greater percentage off as well.

I met my husband near his work at the end of March and finally went to Tuesday Morning. Man! It was sad in the craft section. I ended up buying a pack of velvet hangers, tea, and a bubble maker. You would think *maybe* in Utah there would be a better selection. There was quite a few Echo Park kits, but nothing that was screaming out to me. Overall, there was a significant reduction in products.

This week the one cart was full of markers and vinyl. That was about it other than two sticker books. There wasn't even a full aisle (one side) of crafts there.

I went to ours the other day and I was shocked at the prices of stuff. The area was much smaller then it used to be, still neat and organized as always, but man, the prices. I can’t imagine the stock is going to move al all with the prices being that high. I think they had about 3 different pads all marked 14.99 and a bunch of paper bundles (the ones with all the same paper) and a few stickers, but it was just all super expensive

I'd say a good 1/4 of it wasn't scrapbooking though. Lots of knitting and fabric items.

As much as I didn't want to believe it, I think TM is phasing out crafts. I was really hoping I misunderstood from the TM employee. I'm glad I got in when the getting was good. So many things in my studio have a TM price tag.

So many things in my studio have a TM price tag. I don't think it is phasing out as much as downsizing. The Academy manager said they weren't getting rid of crafts. The aisle is now really sad and very narrow. They can't even fit the cart in there with the craft items. I guess time will tell. They might see that it was one of their best sellers and go back to more items. I know the food section was also downsized too. Maybe they are trying to get rid of the smaller priced items as much as possible. ETA: Thankfully JoAnns put their designer lines on sale 10/$2 and the embellishments were 50% off too. Great prices for new lines.

My store's manager was at the register when I went in this week. Asked her straight up what was going on. They are being scheduled to reduce crafts by 12% a month... As much as I didn't want to believe it, I think TM is phasing out crafts. I was really hoping I misunderstood from the TM employee... I don't think it is phasing out as much as downsizing. The Academy manager said they weren't getting rid of crafts... It seems the shrinkage is company-wide, although uncertain whether the ultimate goal is elimination of the papercraft aisle/section at select or all stores. You may have noticed Echo Park Collection Kits under new arrivals at ACOT. Note all of these kits have item numbers ending in TM (& many have 2021 copyright dates), which indicates they are reprints of older lines specifically for TM (per 950nancy in a TM thread several months ago). Therefore, it seems TM either couldn't (financially) or chose not to buy (or at least not at the volume EP expected) these paper packs, which cannot be good news for TM papercraft shoppers.

The TM I saw on the old Fancy Pants lines I believe said "made for TM." Most often TM means trademark, so I wonder if they are the same thing. Interesting catch. I need to take a picture of the paper packs and compare them.
