Yes. My best friends dad works at the pentagon and they are not only on high alert, they are FLOORED.

I have worked at urban high schools more difficult to get into than the Capitol.

my local walmart if I'm carrying something that's not in a bag.  Yes, I paid for it!!  

buying the 'good' cold medicine, which requires tracking and your driver's license.

etc. etc. 

Yes. I would feel very unsafe if I worked in a building guarded by the DC police.

ETA: I’ve seen stronger security at art museums.

I've had a thought about the Capitol Police. I am wondering since there was a session, but not a normal one, people were not necessarily in their normal places. And yes, sitting VP, VP elect, Pelosi second in line, Grassley 3rd in line were all there but again not in normal places. Could their concern have gone to the leaders and all the others all at once. Who knows better where all the books and crannies are within the Capitol Building? Could they have thought there were other LE outside.

Big fail all the way around. Should have have been addressed long ago. They didn't consider how dt has been inciting so heavily!!

I've had a harder time getting out of the library with a book that didn't scan correctly than some of these douchebags did getting into the Capitol building.

That is exactly what I posted on another thread on here. I thought this was the most IMpenetrable. most SECURE building in the USA?? and a bunch of redneck trumplicans just walked on in.

I went through more security last year to see the exhibit of First Ladies' dresses. I'm horrified at how easy it was for those terrorists to get into the Capital building.

There are a lot of people who were photographed who need to be arrested. 

My husband said this exact same thing.

It’s not like they had time to secure any files and computers before fleeing to some underground tunnel. What’s done is done. What’s a bug sweep when you think of those spy movies and the 0.02 seconds it takes it copy an entire computer. They let them just walk away from the scene. Black people protesting their very lives in a pandemic were killed. One fatality today. That’s nothing and of course it would be a woman. Imagine what a history book would have to read like in order to paint the picture on this fuckery.

I agree with this. I think someone dropped the ball today, maybe on purpose maybe not.

And I heard today that about 50 were arrested. They should have arrested a lot more. I wonder if “Q Shaman” got arrested? He is the guy in the buffalo headwear with face paint. He is a QAnon person and goes to all these “protests”. They showed him today up on the platform in the chamber.
