I went to my county health department website this morning and they had a questionnaire about you. You put in your details and contact information and they contact you when you're eligible. So that's what I did.

How do you know when it's your "turn"? Do they just make announcements on the news/newspaper/etc? I'm not in any of the real classifications, so I'll just be one of the general public when it's time. I'm in California and it looks like I would be eligible in Tier 1C. But, I can't find how I sign up. We have asked my youngest DS dr & my oncologist and neither of them know either. I was hoping that I could get it through my oncologists office. My oldest son and DIL are both eligible (due to their work) and will be getting it any day now.

I spent three hours trying to schedule an appointment at my health dept yesterday, and can't get an appointment as they are all filled thru April. I am 68, immunocompromised, have had 2 open heart surgeries in the past three years, and work in a retail setting. Yet I have lost count of the SAHM's in their thirties that already have gotten it, based upon their facebook postings. I have only been to work and grocery store (special hours) in the past 10 months. They hang out at hockey games, and bars and restaurants, and travel to family gatherings and vacations. I am really irritated with the roll out in my state. Wow. That does sound frustrating. What state do you live in? I live in Texas. I got my 1st shot on Wednesday. I'm supposed to get shot #2 in 4 weeks. They told me that I might be able the get the second shot through a pharmacy. Hopefully, that will be true and you will be able to get one soon.

I'm in the last group but I'm more than willing when it becomes available to me. I will sign the paperwork for my mother to have the shot as she can get it.

I got a general email from my county that had the information about the vaccinations and the various tiers (who qualifies when). I'm in the last group even though I'm 60 because I'm no longer obese or have asthma. DH will be in the group before me even though he is 5 years younger than me, due to his weight and his hypertension. I was joking to DH that it's the first time being healthy has worked against me. I don't anticipate being able to get the vaccine until late spring or even this summer.
When my turn does come I'll be there with bells on!

I thought teachers moved down? We aren't expected to get it now until March. Maybe it depends on the state? Michigan just announced teachers/school staff are eligible starting Monday. As for me, I’m undecided. Leaning towards yes but I have some reservations about the long term effects of it, but of course we don’t know the long term effects of COVID either. Same.

Originally I figured I would get it as soon as my doctor told me it was safe for me. That is how I answered when this question was asked a couple of months ago. Now, I'm feeling iffy. I believe in the science of it and want one, I'm just afraid of any reaction I might get. This is because of the people who have allergies are getting issues after receiving the injection.
I have severe allergies. Many years ago I went through an extensive panel of allergy tests I was covered in welts after throwing a reaction to almost everything. When they tested the animal set, I was told the only pet I could have was a goat. I am allergic to everything else. I should not have cats. I admit to being stupid. I think my dog is okay because he doesn't shed and I don't fill up around him like I do the cats. And my eyes don't swell shut and itch like mad when I get a dog hair near my eyes. They do with cat hair. I keep allergy eye drops all over the house and in my purse. I just used it 10 minutes ago, which is the 3rd time today. Once these cats pass away, I will not bring any more into my life. And I am looking into building a screen porch onto the house I purchase so that the cats can live out there instead of inside with me. I have a lot of cool ideas for them.
I have been really struggling to breathe the past 3 days due to my asthma. I just can't fill my lungs up. I have two different types of inhalers, the normal one and one heavy-duty one with steroids in it that is for short-term use when things get really bad. I also have pills and nasal spray. I have been using them more than I should be this past few days. I HATE the feeling of not being able to breathe. It terrifies me.
That is why I am have been so diligent with staying home and not exposing myself to Covid 19. People don't even ask me to do anything anymore. They know the answer. If I am struggling this much now, what would I feel like after being infected? And what would a reaction feel like after receiving the vaccine? I will of course be talking to my doctor about this.

I'm in Canada ... a teacher ... it will be quite some time before I get the vaccine I'm sorry that it will take a while for you to be able to get it. Hopefully, it will be soon.

i just looked at the NY state site, i'm in group 1b bc i'm in education, that starts tomorrow but the only question on the screener was are you a frontline health care worker. i have 2 auto immune conditions and i'm on meds that supress my immune system so in spite of my HUGE reservations about a shot that came out so quickly, i'll get it as soon as i can

My university is setting up a clinic and volunteers get a shot. I signed up for every available day, but all of the volunteer positions are waitlisted. Here’s hoping one opens at some point.
