"“We thank God for exposing and foiling all the plans of the enemy set against him. We affirm his lawful election and pray for four more years with Donald Trump as our president!” the 24/7 National Strategic Prayer Call, a 10,000-member Arkansas-based ministry that hosts weekly live prayer calls, told its listeners Monday [1/11/21]. The high-octane, emotional fight for Trump makes sense for these believers, who take the stories of Christian scripture literally and see daily life as a visceral struggle between God and the devil. Spiritual warfare is constant. Signs and wonders are everywhere. So as time passes and Trump’s options disappear, God’s move to keep him in power will be even more spectacular — evidence even more likely to spark a religious awakening or revival.... Many believers of what some experts call “neo-charismatic” Christianity are not heavily focused on politics and more on the miraculous. Instead of a faith life that revolves around sitting in a pew listening to a sermon, they embrace the idea that the Bible is happening right now; the world is a supernatural story and they are players in it. And that includes an aspect of the religion that traditional institutional Christianity has left to the earliest centuries of the church: The notion of prophets and apostles.... Guthrie believes America’s problems began with the legalization of abortion, the removal of state-sponsored prayer from public schools, and with educational and cultural systems that, to him, emphasize America’s flaws. He sees a ruling class that can in a day take the president off Twitter but won’t do the same online for the evils of child porn... As far as the false predictions, he asked: “Why is it our people are so vulnerable to this stuff?”" www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2021/01/14/prophets-apostles-christian-prophesy-trump-won-biden-capitol/So many peas ask - how could this happen? How could these normal people believe all this stuff? Read up on Christian nationalism and the evangelical churches. They have been brainwashing millions for 30 years based on their fears of women, LGBT, "socialism". They see "the devil" everywhere. That's how.

How Did We Get Here?' A Call For An Evangelical Reckoning On Trump www.npr.org/transcripts/955801878"Our next guest says white evangelical Christians need to take their share of responsibility for this precarious moment in American history. The Access Hollywood tapes, immigrant children separated from their parents, the president's incessant lies - through it all, white evangelicals have, by and large, stood by President Trump. During Trump's presidency, they saw three abortion rights opponents seated on the Supreme Court. But at what cost? Ed Stetzer is the director of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College. He says after the deadly Capitol Hill riot, white evangelical Christians need a reckoning."

Evidence? Where? Why didn't they show the evidence to the 50-60 courts, before the they were thrown out by all the judges??
Because, there is no evidence to support their claims! Zip, zero, nada!

And the past five years have made it glaringly obvious that even in the age of information, people will still believe those who feed their prejudices.

Ed Stetzer, along with Dr. Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention, and David French have been speaking out since early on. The problem is Franklin Graham and company fell for the false god.

I just read this. I am sending it to my very Evangelical friend who is a huge "the Bible is real and never misleads you" person. Can't wait to see what she has to say.

I have given up trying to figure out why these people believe what they believe. It bothers me though. Many of them are bright people. How in the hell can they believe this stuff? I keep wondering, but suspect that it will remain a mystery. Still, I really would like to understand it.

How in the hell can they believe this stuff? 30 years (or 40) of brainwashing by the right-wing media, churches & web sites.

" “God is on Trump’s side,” the veteran lawyer wrote in a separate post. “God is not on the Democrats’ side. And if patriots have to kill 60 million of these communists, it is God’s will.”
That really is terrifying. I'd love to see him get 20 years, which would mean he'd probably be in jail until he died. But what are the chances he'll get anything near 20 years?

And here is the reality of this and it's relation to QAnon. One of my friends, who teaches Philosophy wrote a good essay on social media in relation to this article by Forbes.
I can't watch Pat Robertson he scares me and the MyPillow guy does too.

I just heard a quick blurb about 'the guy from Florida' is facing more charges. I do not know if it was Calhoun... But whoever it was had threatened to assisinate AOC and someone else. UPDATE: NOT CALHOUN!! I heard wrong it seems. Name is Garret Miller from Texas. He did threaten AOC and also has threatened the officer who shot the woman going through the smashed door window. This is so far removed from my world, my reality and my norms, that I don't even know how to respond... You are very lucky. This is increasingly what America has become in the last 30 years - a somewhat shrinking (in number) but more deluded and dangerous Christian Nationalist. Be on guard in all countries - they tend to go in w/far right parties as they love authoritarianism and "one right way to be" kind of thinking.
