I placed an order from Ali Express tonight using Paypal. I ordered from five different shops, 1-3 items per shop for a total of $22 and change. And to avoid any questions, I didn’t order copied stamps & dies; I ordered gems, cabochons, resin hearts, and a few other small embellishments.
I received a confirmation email for the total from Paypal. I also received confirmation emails from the five venders from Ali Express as soon as I placed my order, stating my payment was received.
A few minutes ago I received two emails from two different venders stating Ali Express is awaiting payment completion.
Has this happened to anyone before? Did my orders process or should I retry the payment? I’ve never ordered from Ali Express before and this is making me nervous. I used paypal so I can dispute the charges easily and to protect my debit card... maybe that was a mistake?

That happened to me too.
I payed than told me it didn't go thru so I payed again and ended up getting the same thing twice. I didn't mind getting 2 of the same thing.
You can always wait and see if you get a confirmation about the package being sent.
I think it takes 1 day or so.
I haven't bought anything lately so hopefully its still the same .

The last 2 orders I placed, I stayed on the site until it showed payment accepted. A little while later, I got the email that made it sound like payment wasn't complete (although there was a line at the bottom saying that if I'd paid I should ignore the email). But in my inbox, received before the "please complete your payment" email, was an email saying that payment had been received and the order was processing, so I just ignored the later email. Both times the order shipped just fine. Something is goofy in their email system, I think.

I can't speak specifically to AliExpress, but I know that eBay has started adding its own payment processing service into the mix-- I think in preparation to phase out PayPal. (I don't know, I didn't really all the emails that carefully.)
I think the way it works is that instead of my payment going instantly to the seller like an instant transfer, it goes to eBay, which then somehow relays it to the seller. I actually don't pay enough attention to distinguish when it's being used because I only care that I can pay with Paypal. But when it goes through "eBay payments," there is a brief period where my account shows that payment is pending and the seller will send once payment clears. Basically, there's an extra step in the process... but I don't think it's ever taken more than an hour for everything to finalize.

Craftymom that is normal for AE. Do not pay again. That always happen in all my transactions, but payment always go through.

I agree with what has been said above. It can take a while for payments to be received. Just give it some time. I have never had any problems and I've ordered quite a lot from Ali Express.

Yes, same! I only order from shops on AE that accept PayPal and there have been a few times this has happened to me as well. Enjoy your new goodies craftymom101! |

It has happened to me too. I just ignore the emails (as I have already paid), and my items are delivered just fine... a few weeks / months later |

Has anyone ordered enamel dots from AliExpress? Are enamel dots stolen designs and I should avoid them?

I just placed an order last night and this happened to me too. This is the first time this has happened. This morning I logged into my account and looked at my order details and it said the payment was successful.

I’m home sick (COVID positive) and I needed a little retail therapy to make myself feel better! I will share what I got when everything arrives. Has anyone ordered enamel dots from AliExpress? Are enamel dots stolen designs and I should avoid them? I don’t see how enamel dots could be considered stolen. Standard shapes (like circles) and color schemes aren’t intellectual property. Artwork/designs being copied (like stamps and dies) are the things to watch out for. |

They were just generic but they stick great! |

I've ordered enamel dots and hearts. The matte finish ones don't have great stick, but the normal enamel dots and the hearts I ordered both do. There are a commonly found set of enamel dots that are an older EP set (maybe from the Jack and Jill days?) but they're the only ones I've seen that I recognised.
