I am looking for a wood mounted stamp similar to the circles in the set below. I am not a fan of clear stamps...and truth be told I'm not even a stamper...I just think I could be if I got something similar to these stamps Don't need the word stamps, I am simply looking for something graphic like the circles.

Thanks, @giantsfan! Maybe clear stamps are better now than I remember them from several years ago - I always felt like they looked a little "fuzzy" or out of focus. Or maybe I just suck at stamping, lol!

Thanks, @giantsfan! Maybe clear stamps are better now than I remember them from several years ago - I always felt like they looked a little "fuzzy" or out of focus. Or maybe I just suck at stamping, lol! There are two kinds. The cheap ones are exactly the way you remember, kind of fuzzy, not sharp, don't stick well to a block. The good ones are much better but they cost 2-3x as much. If the stamp is about $5 (especially American Crafts brands/from Michaels/Joann/TM) it's probably the first kind. A good stamp set will run closer to $10-15 or more. There are a lot more good ones than cheap ones out there but it depends where you shop. It's also quite possible you're not great at stamping (lol, sorry). I know I wasn't - shaky hands, impatient, perfectionist. I realized that most stampers don't stamp it once and get it perfect. They stamp several times and use the best examples, or they enjoy/tolerate the imperfection. Using a stamp platform, better inks, and a lot of practice made me a much better stamper. These are somewhat similar, very good quality, but clear. I have the second one and it's quite fun and forgiving. Has a lot of sentiments that you don't need though. www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-MIX-AND-MATCH-CIRCLES-sss202165-Stamptember-sss202165?currency=USDwww.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-AMAZING-sss201898-sss201898?currency=USDHave you ever tried carving your own stamps? Simple graphic stamps are fun and easy to create.

Thank you everyone! And joblackford , no, I'm not great at it. If it's not perfect the first time, I'm frustrated. So there's definitely that

Thank you everyone! And joblackford , no, I'm not great at it. If it's not perfect the first time, I'm frustrated. So there's definitely that I know that feeling SO WELL. That's why I invested in a stamping platform. Big Tim and Tiny Tim make me look like an expert. I always thought Kelly Purkey was a brilliant stamper but I watched some of her old PL process videos and she stamped all her little words on scraps of paper to include on her pages. She'd have to do it 4 or 5 times to get a good one. That's when I stopped feeling like I sucked and realized we all suck!

Viva Las VegaStamps offers wood-mounted stamps, but I don't know if they have stamps like those. It's a really cool site, and their store is even cooler. I was lucky enough to be able to visit them a few years ago, and they are a very nice family. I was interested in a stamp that was wood-mounted, but I wanted an unmounted version. The husband actually went into the manufacturing room and made me an unmounted rubber stamp while I waited! It took only about 15 minutes, and it was still warm when he brought it out. Very nice!

Using a stamp platform, better inks, and a lot of practice made me a much better stamper. I will also add that better paper made me a better stamper! joblackford was kind enough to send me some samples of Neenah when I first started getting into stamping and whoa, it made so much difference in how my stamping looked!

[Disclaimer: I exclusively incorporate stamping into scrapbook layouts; I'm not a cardmaker, art journaler, etc.] Like you, I prefer wood-mounted rubber stamps. Check out the big box craft stores, which currently have stamps on clearance/sale, & may be replacing them with new designs over the next month or so. For example, I recently bought Hero Arts Overlap Circle Frame on clearance for $2.49 (+ tax) at Hobby Lobby. Regarding clear stamps, note those made from photopolymer are superior to acrylic (looking at you American Crafts brands). Both yield a cleaner/clearer image if primed before its first use. Simply rub a white art eraser over the stamping surface before inking it (for the first time). HTH with your search!
