Have you ever looked at your stamp collection and just felt tired of some of them?
Do you purge them?
When you buy stamps, is it with the goal of keeping/ using them forever, or is there a point when you've gotten all your use out of them and pass them along?

I have several stamps that I used once and I'm ready to pass them on, lol. I think if I was a card maker I might feel differently, but as a scrapbooker I want a different look for every page.
I'm holding on to them for now, in case I ever decide to make cards.

I have some I should probably purge --- SC sends a new stamp every month with the DK kit I was getting and they add up. Some I will use but they are so repetitive though.

I do not and have thinking about purging and storage solutions. Purge first. Then I’ll figure out storage.

I have too many but I am trying to get better about using them. I get two each month with my cocoa daisy kits. I’m not ready to give up the kits so I have to keep getting stamps. But yes I love them all!

All the ones that I bought for card making back in the day are gathering dust. I’ve thought about getting rid of them but now that my daughter is in daycare we’ve been using them to make seasonal crafts for the family display board.
All the scrapbook based ones i have I love and I want to keep buying more lol. I’ve been using them in my art journal recently too but I need to use them more.

I have too many stamps, but recently I have been trying to organize them better, so that I can make better use of them. Over time, I will go through my ridiculously huge collection and offer those I no longer love to friends, or perhaps try to sell them at a yard sale or something.

I love most of mine but that’s only because I purged them recently. However some are not getting much use. I’m really making an effort to use more stamps and dies with my layouts. I’m going to wait a few months and unless I plan on using them for cards the unused stamps will go in my give away pile. Same for my dies.

My lesser expensive stamps, the ones that came with SC kits etc, I am likely to get rid of if I don't think I will use them, or if I need to make space. Stamp sets with matching dies I don't usually get rid of. I have curbed my stamp purchases a lot in the past year or so, it forces me to go back through my stash and use what I have.

So many years of SC kits has left me with so many small stamp sets. I have a lot of 4x6 stamp sets that I love and try to use, but my problem is with the 3x4 & 2x3 kit stamps. Some I would keep, but wish I could store multiples on a bigger sheet. The problem is that I don't know what I would do with the ones I want to purge. The group I meet with once a year for a retreat is heavily into CM and most don't stamp so I feel it would be a waste of my time to pack up and drag them there to put out on the free table. I'm not sure how useful it would be to try to donate somewhere because they all require a stamp block...yet it feels wrong to just throw them away.

I regret purchasing cutesy looking stamps (Lawn Fawn, my Favorite Things, etc). I prefer Tim Holtz stamps & dies.

Yes I basically love what I have. I did a big purge a few years ago and don't purchase too many new stamp sets these days. I don't find I use them often so it makes it easier to pass on buying them.

I have my stamps divvied up into 1) sets I know I love and will keep probably forever, and 2) crappy old stamps that I should purge, lol....some fall in between.

I got rid of quite a few when I moved last year. I know I need to get rid of more of them!
I resubbed to Ali's SBTM kit this year, and I'm locked into an annual sub with KP/Paper Person. A coworker of mine recently got me started on You Need A Budget (YNAB), and it has opened my eyes to my spending habits. I've cut back a lot of my scrappy purchases, but I need to cut back more, if I want to travel a bit more.

The majority of my stamps are words. Because of the price point, I buy sets I know I'll use multiple times.

I’ve purged so many times! Yes there are still many more that I’ll sell off this year. I use to like to collect but as I’ve gotten older I see it as a waste of my money and time. I spend more time organizing than crafting which I guess one could call a hobby too!

Since I only incorporate stamping into layouts (not a cardmaker, art journaler, etc.), prefer wood mounted rubber (which is almost extinct!), already own the versatile images that I gravitate toward (e.g. lines, grids, circles), & painsakingly overanalyze every purchase, I rarely even purchase stamps! I like & am content with my current stamp inventory.
ETA: I suggest donating stamps (or any supplies) that are no longer (or never been/will never be) used to a scrappy friend, child, or local charitable organization. Not only does it free (often limited) storage space for desired supplies, but also encourages others' creativity.

I spend more time organizing than crafting which I guess one could call a hobby too! I feel the same way about the wasted time and money comment! I try to remember Marie Kondo's philosophy that those items brought me joy at some point and it is ok to release them (and the guilt!). I also view them as a lesson in being more mindful about my purchases and figure out my priorities for my money.

I made so many beginners purchasing mistakes. Sigh.
I really need to purge what I don’t like. I think I may even breakup the sets and keep some stamps and ditch the others. I have way too many items in general and I need to start someplace.

I have such a hard time purging stamps.
I have very little need for kiddie stamps anymore. My own kids are big, so I don't need many kiddie bday cards. Dinos, trucks, ballerinas - they should all go, I guess. I can make a kid birthday card with balloon or cake stamps.
The thing that terrifies me most is my own fickleness. LOL I had a bunch of "scene" stamps that I never used because they needed to be colored, and I didn't color. Until I did. And then I broke out those scene stamps and watercolored and color-penciled and ink-painted to my heart's content.
I probably don't ever need to buy another stamp for the rest of my life.
But they're so pretty...

I sold a bunch of stamp sets last year that were no longer my style, or were things I had received in a kit that was just not a design I loved or thought I'd use. If I'm being completely honest there are more sets I could get rid of because I don't love everything I own, but I like them well enough to keep.

I purged all my really old stamps. I donated 2 nicer sets, but most were yellowed and/or I didn't even remember I had them.
I also donated a binder with holder pages. I find I like storing them vertically in Avery Elle sleeves.
Honestly, it was a big relief to purge them.

Yes, I purge all the time.
If I get a stamp in a kit that doesn't spark joy, I sell it straight away. It doesn't even make it to my stash.
I'm pretty good at asking myself all the time as I am scrapping 'does this spark joy?' - and if it doesn't, off it goes.

I don't like any of my stamps anymore. I haven't scrapped offline (haha - undigitally) in a while, but am planning on doing so in the next few months. Maybe I'll change my mind, but I really doubt it.

I purge from time to time as my tastes change and life changes. For example-all the kid stamps-I don't need nearly as many as I have so they need to go. I don't need 15 sets of Halloween stamps and I've used my early ones several times. It's time to pass them on to somebody else.
For those selling-where do you sell them? I need to purge again!

I've been stamping now for over 20 years. I've overhauled my collection a couple of times. I have also been a consultant for a paper crafting company twice now. The first time that I was a consultant I was pretty good about purging sets that retired and I didn't have a strong attachment too. I'd sell them to my cusomters for a reduced amount. Then I moved from one state to another and purged a ton of my stamps before I moved. I regret this. I'm still constantly - 9 years later - hunting for stamps that "I know I have" but I don't have them anymore. It seems to have pushed me into a more hoarding type of mentality with my stamps. I'm having a very hard time letting anything go. Even if I don't wholeheartedly love it or have room for it or have 5 other sets that are basically the same thing - I still am having trouble parting with it. Then, six months ago, a friend of mine gave me over 350 stamp sets that she just didn't want to deal with anymore. The idea was I could sell them and make some extra money. I'm having a very hard time parting with HER stamp sets. It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm drowning in stamp sets and need a wake up call. I spend more time looking for the stamp set I want at this point then I do actually using it. And my sets are fairly well organized.

I'm purging as I type. Well, I am taking a break and came to see what was happening on 2 peas. Anyway, yes I do purge occasionally. I am a scrapbooker and cardmaker. I had probably over 400 stamp sets. Mostly Stampin' Up!. I've been a demo off and on for a number of years. By Demo I mean I was basically in it for the discount and only had a few close friends as sporadic customers. I've been going through bins and totes of stamps and reducing my stash down to about 25% of what it was. I just realized that I had way more than I would ever use and some that I'd used a few times and just didn't want to use them again. There were some that just weren't mile style and I don't know what I was thinking. I feel that with a smaller stash that is truly my style I will use them more and not be overwhelmed. I kind of miss the days when all of my craft supplies fit into just a couple of rubbermaid totes and a tool caddy. I plan to reduce my other supplies too. There are colors of ink/paper/embellishments I just don't reach for. No need to keep it just to be in the way and collect dust. A scrapbook store "near" me is having a "rummage" sale in a couple of months. I'm hoping to have everything together and priced for their sale. I know I'll get store credit but there are always things I'll need.

i have a bunch of Technique Tuesday clear alphabet stamps that i bought and never use. i don't think i will ever use them so i'm going to purge those. i'm actually going to purge all of my clear stamps. i'm going to stick with the old school, tried and true red rubber stamps.
speaking of stamps, i just acquired a bunch more sheets of Tim Holtz stamps. i have always like his stamps and am happy to have gotten a hold of more.

I have over 500 stamps. I don't count sets because I break up sets into themes; flowers, trees, animals, birds, etc. If a set has a tree, a flower and a bird, it is put in 3 different categories. I do have a lot of stamps I don't like, but they are mine so I keep them. The only way I purge my stamps is to toss them if they somehow get ruined and become unusable.
