McConnell will support and vote for dt! The GOP has no integrity or dignity. They hate themselves almost as much as they hate us.
Abbott is investigating reports of sexual assaults on immigrants because they were reported. He did not investigate the assaults under dt because they were reported by dt by phone.

And he still backed dt!! Pence pleaded with military officials to 'clear the Capitol' on Jan. 6: AP BY CELINE CASTRONUOVO - 04/10/21 02:30 PM EDT A previously undisclosed document from the Pentagon reportedly sheds light on the timeline of responses from federal government leaders on the day of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, including a call from then-Vice President Mike Pence to clear the building hours before order was actually restored. The document, prepared for internal use by the Pentagon and obtained by The Associated Press, provides insight into the level of chaos and panic among a handful of senior White House aides, leaders of Congress and the vice president, who were all tasked with managing responses to the mob attack amid former President Trump’s inaction. According to the AP, the timeline shows that shortly after 4 p.m., two hours after rioters broke into the Capitol and as they continued to roam the building, Pence made a phone call from a secure room to then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller. The document states that Pence told Miller the Capitol was not secure and demanded a deadline from military leaders on when they would be able to restore order. Information obtained by the AP indicated that Trump in a Jan. 3 Cabinet meeting approved the activation of the Washington, D.C., National Guard and told Miller to take any necessary action at the Stop the Steal rally events. However, the Guard’s role was restricted to traffic sections and checkpoints around D.C., with the Trump administration and Pentagon officials hesitant to display a heavy military presence following criticism over responses to civil unrest in the aftermath of the police killing of George Floyd. ** more at link: thehill.com/policy/national-security/547524-pence-pleaded-with-military-officials-to-clear-the-capitol-on-Jan.-6-AP-

what a dick that guy was!!! She has the patience of a saint, to put up with their baiting questions. He was trying so very hard to get a 'gotcha' answer from her about SOMETHING. And separately, I don't remember which show Secretary Pete was on, but I agree with what he said... I think it was in relation to Fox asking him why only 5.6% of the proposal $$ was going to roads and bridges (apparently that's all they consider 'infrastructure' lol, which is a whole 'nother topic). Anyway, Secretary Pete said something to the effect of "this is not an 'infrastructure' plan. It's a JOBS plan. And one way of creating jobs, etc. is by addressing America's sad lack of investment in its infrastructure." No worries, he will cherry pick & rearrange the words she used to somehow produce a ‘gotcha’ anyway.

This is indeed a mystery, what does today’s Republicans stand for? And supposed regular Republicans wonder why they are lumped together & called racist. It getting hard to find a difference. Now that there’s a conservative majority on the SC, Exactly what else does the current GOP stand for? All I hear is racist statements, anti native people statements and calling prominent women witches that should be prepared to burn at the stake. Hey, let’s just roll on back to the 1690’s

On another thread that I guess was about conservatives at least one or maybe two conservatives posted that they did not support trump. An attempt to distance themselves from him.
But can they really distance themselves from him if they keep voting for his enablers? It seems to me that a vote for way more than a few Republicans running for office is a vote for trump and his words and actions.
Lets be honest the Republicans in Congress had a chance to rein him in but didn’t. Instead they enabled him for 4 years if not outright support him. Who knows why they did it, but they did it knowing they wouldn’t pay a price for it with the voters. And it’s clear they didn’t.
It now appears these “I’m not a trump supporter but will vote for his enablers” conservatives will need to decide if they want to continue this way. trump isn’t going anywhere soon as was demonstrated in FL this weekend. Also, I guess based the perceived success of trump, there appears to be a successor in waiting.
The only way to stop this craziness in the Republican Party is not to vote for these individuals. Every single vote these enablers receive is a vote rewarding them for their behavior.

Delicious: "I'm starting to think that Donald Trump might be finished. I don't mean that he's bound to be taken down by one of the criminal investigations digging deeply into various aspects of his conduct, though he might be. Or that his business empire is going to be sucked into a cascade of bankruptcies once the $421 million he owes to creditors begins to come due over the next few years, though that is certainly possible. Or that one or more of a couple dozen pending lawsuits will bring him to his knees, though I wouldn't exactly be surprised to see it happen. No, I mean that the man's political potency is fading at a remarkably rapid rate. With Trump silenced on social media, still obsessed with nursing personal grievances against leading figures in his own party, and continuing to spread transparent, delusional lies about the 2020 election, he looks increasingly marginal, like a pathetic, weak, and comical figure. I think Trump may have finally jumped the shark. His latest bilious temper tantrum took place on Saturday night at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, where Republican National Committee donors and 2024 presidential aspirants gathered to schmooze and listen to what the former president had to say. The message? The Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is a "dumb son of a b-tch" and a "stone cold loser" for failing to back up Trump's baseless assertions of voter fraud during the election he decisively lost last November. The former president also castigated his vice president, Mike Pence, calling him a coward for going along with his constitutionally proscribed role in Congress on Jan. 6 instead of working to overturn the "bullsh-t" election results. It wasn't a speech about the accomplishments of his administration during its four years of running the country or the GOP's electoral triumphs in the 2020 election (when the party exceeded expectations on multiple fronts and made potentially fruitful inroads among Hispanic and Black voters). Neither was it a speech that was especially forward looking — on his own political agenda for the future, or the priorities other Republicans ought to pursue in the 2022 midterm elections and beyond. It was instead (in the words of one attendee quoted in Politico) "horrible," "long," "negative," and "dour." But wait, isn't this what Trump always does? He rants and raves about his grievances and a sizable faction of Republican voters lap it up — right?" More at link theweek.com/articles/976786/trump-finally-jumps-shark

"The former president’s insistence on leading the party “affects every member,” Mr. Zeidman said, as lawmakers and would-be elected officials jockey for a Trump endorsement that was as powerful in a Republican primary as it could be problematic in a general election. “He’s already proven that he wants to have a major say or keep control of the party, and he’s already shown every sign that he’s going to primary everybody that has not been supportive of him,” Mr. Zeidman said. “He complicates everything so much.” As donors and G.O.P. leaders looked on Saturday night, Mr. Trump quickly cast aside his prepared remarks and returned to his false claims that the election was stolen from him. He referenced “Zuckerberg” and $500 million spent on a “lockbox” from which, he said, every vote was marked, according to remarks described by an attendee. “Biden. Saintly Joe Biden,” he said." www.nytimes.com/2021/04/10/us/politics/trump-republicans-donors.htmlI love it. Keep albatrossing, Former!!

Trump is a one trick pony, the problem is once you hear the punch line 2 or 3 times his story gets old. He reminds me of the high school jock that peaked his senior year, and 20 years later at the reunion he’s talking as though he’s still that guy. It gets old and people get tired of hearing it. I’d have walked out too.

Sad sad sad.............. more fake awards!! Trump was given a bowl and deemed a Champion of Freedom, which is an award that Republicans made up to make Trump happy. Here is how the National Republican Senatorial Committee described the award, “This weekend, NRSC Chairman Rick Scott presented President Donald J. Trump with the NRSC’s inaugural Champion for Freedom Award. This award is presented to conservative leaders who have worked tirelessly to create good jobs, protect the values that make our country great, and stop the Democrats’ socialist agenda.” Republicans could have cut out the BS and just said this is an award to former presidents named Donald who live in Florida, who is a very good boy. ** www.politicususa.com/2021/04/12/republicans-are-giving-fake-awards-to-one-term-loser-trump.htmlIf you click on the tweet you can see the picture...

ANOTHER lawsuit!! Fox News anchors accused of conspiring behind the scenes with Trump attorneys as they face massive lawsuit over election liesTravis Gettys April 13, 2021 A new court filing argues that Fox News anchors cannot hide behind the First Amendment after helping former president Donald Trump and his allies spread election lies. Voting technology company Smartmatic filed a 120 page motion asking a New York state court to reject the conservative network's attempt to dismiss a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit by claiming its coverage was protected speech, arguing those protections should not apply because anchors knew election fraud claims were untrue, reported Law & Crime. "This is not a game. The First Amendment does not provide the Fox Defendants a Get Out Of Jail Free card," the motion argues. "The Fox Defendants do not get a do-over with their reporting now that they have been sued." Smartmatic attorney J. Erik Connolly accused Fox News anchors, including Maria Bartiromo, Jeannine Pirro and Lou Dobbs of inviting Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell onto their programs and asking questions intended to promote the former president's claims of election fraud. "The Fox anchors were not innocent bystanders and the disinformation generated during their interviews was no accident," the motion claims. "Prior to the interviews, the Fox anchors decided to join forces with Giuliani and Powell to disseminate disinformation about Smartmatic. The Fox anchors knew what Giuliani and Powell would say on their shows, asked questions to elicit lies about Smartmatic, and endorsed Giuliani's and Powell's investigation. The Fox anchors added their own defamatory comments about Smartmatic for good measure. This was a scripted performance by the Fox anchors, Giuliani, and Powell to defame and disparage Smartmatic for personal gain." "The filing only confirms our view that the suit is meritless and FOX News covered the election in the highest tradition of the First Amendment," the spokesperson said. ** www.rawstory.com/smartmatic-lawsuit-fox-news/

Donald Trump continues to resist efforts by investigators to obtain his tax returns.
"Donald Trump said a New York law enabling Congress to ask for his state tax returns no longer applies because he isn't president. The law, known as the Trust Act, allows the state to share the president's tax information with a congressional committee that asks for it. Trump sued the House and Ways and Means Committee to block it from requesting information," Bloomberg News reported Monday. Trump's lawyers told U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols the law "does not apply to former presidents." The filing is however an admission that he is not president anymore.** www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-tax-returns-congress/

Rand Paul is now saying the courts did not give the trump lawyers good hearing.... Well duhm they didn't present any evidence!! Cases were ALL thrown out (except one)!! Speaking at an event hosted by the Heritage Foundation, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said that courts never fully analyzed former President Donald Trump's claims of mass voter fraud, the Washington Examiner reports. According to Paul, the merits of Trump's claims were not fully heard. "The one thing I think is untrue is that the courts fully heard this. Courts have been hesitant to get involved in elections," Paul said. "The Kentucky Republican said judges need to decide whether officials — like a secretary of state — can make changes to election law without permission from the state legislatures," writes the Examiner's Alex Swoyer. "During the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of state officials made changes to election laws ahead of the November election, such as extending the deadline for mail-in ballots." Paul went on to say that states should pass election laws that declare a secretary of state can't mail out ballots or make unilateral changes outside of the law. www.rawstory.com/rand-paul-give-conspiracy-chance/

Another foot in mouth for Sen John Cornyn
"At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Cornyn asked Clarke about a column she had written while she was a student at Harvard.
"Well, maybe there's a misprint," the senator began, "dating back to your days in school when you seem to argue that African-Americans were genetically superior to caucasians. Is that correct?""
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) backed down at a confirmation hearing for Assistant Attorney General nominee Kristen M. Clarke on Wednesday after discovering that he had been confused by a satirical column.

You know, I am all for Presidents who tweet 'unimaginably conventional' stuff. I thought that was why there was an official POTUS account - for all the boring but necessary information, not to rant about how mean the world is.

Ok, what specific actions have you done to help the voters who voted for you?
As noted you took off to Mexico during the “great freeze” while your opponent in the last election stayed and did all he could to help his fellow Texans,
Seems to me the voters of Texas blew it in electing their Senator.
