I probably bought too much ribbon. I forgot that I hate tying. In general I shop too much. But I like it. If anything, it's no longer about having stuff I don't like; it's having more than I'll ever use. I do purge periodically. Probably 2x a year. And I'm fierce about it. I know what I like, and I know when it's time to let something go.

Oh! I thought of another one. Prima flowers. I have FAR too many Prima flowers. And I have no idea how to use them effectively on cards or scrapbook pages.

All that naked chipboard and Tim Holtz grungeboard...I hate making mini books, never used it. I also despise sanding the edges of paper after gluing it to the chipboard, so Goodwill got a ton of unopened chipboard and grunge board a few years ago. I also have bought too many EP kits. I am done with those. I never bought them before I heard of TM, because I thought they were too expensive. Then they were at TM for 5.99 and I went ham. Also those 5.00 hot buy stacks at M's. Grrrrr...they get me everytime! Although the beach one was really pretty. Edited to add (after reading more of this thread) I really regret getting rid of my small Cricut. I decided it was dumb to keep that one and also get the big one, so I sold the little one on Craigs list. I will say I got good $ for it, but I wish I still had the little one (baby bug) too.

The biggest regret I have is buying the little things. You know the stuff that’s cheap—so you pick it up. Not because you love it. But because it’s cheap and you could make it work someday.
I should have just saved my money and bought what I wanted.
I no longer do that, but all that money and stuff that has been purged. Such a waste.

I could have saved myself some $$ if I had just bought the more expensive good tools first

People will definitely buy the Basic Grey. You might be able to get full price for Basic Grey because it is coveted but when pricing paper I choose to go cheap, because my theory is that the goal is to get rid of something that is taking up space in my house- any money is a bonus. I sold a bunch of stuff at a garage sale a couple of years ago- I sold it for incredibly cheap but it made me so happy to see it flying out of there- my craft supplies were some of my best sellers. There was a teenager that left with a huge pile of it and it made me happy to fuel her craftiness.
What lines of Basic Grey do you have? I'm willing to pay full price if it is a line I want.
I heavily purged a couple of years ago and I regret getting rid of some of my papers- especially the Chatterbox. I brought a lot of different papers to school for my art kids to cut up, which they love, but sometimes I see a scrap of beautiful pink/purple Chatterbox and it makes me sad.
I regret the raw chipboard, because I was too lazy to cover it, but again, I took it to school and the kids like to trace them.
I regret any epoxy I bought, because I've had to pull it off of old layouts (it all yellowed) and find other things to put in it's place. I regret October Afternoon Flair- it is so cute but it rusts and I can't figure out how to get it off the page without tearing the layout.
I'm sure I'll think of more stuff later.

I regret some of the stamps I purchased because they were either the “in” thing or on a great sale. Fortunately it is not too many. Oh wait an even bigger regret is all those $1 stamps from Michaels. I got rid of at least 70% last year. The Michael’s stamps do not work well, do not stick to blocks etc. I ONLY buy them on extreme sale and if it’s a stamp I really really need. Like the recent mini holidays stamp for my planner for 89 cents. I’m willing to put up with having to glue them on a block fir this year fir 89 cents but they were originally like 8$ they are NOT worth the $8 or more retail price at all. I can’t think of anything I regret buying exactly. I’ll think about that today and get back to you... I do regret making a scrapbook for Ex.

Yes to regretting epoxy! I wish Doodlebug would find another material to make their cute embellishments. I am always tempted, then have to remind myself that it will yellow. Regarding getting flair off the page - have you tried Undu adhesive remover? It works great!

I regret not buying Basic Grey collections I loved - Lauderdale comes to mind immediately. Of the craft purchases I’ve made, I regret buying the Pazzels cutter. It came out before the Cameo did and I really wanted the ability to cut 12x12 and couldn’t do that with my Silhouette SD. It’s in a box in my closet. I have no idea what to do with it now.

I don’t have many regrets. I have been able to sell on everything I shouldn’t have purchased or didn’t get enough use out of.
The one thing I do regret and wish I could purge completely is my 12x12 paper.
I do not do 12x12 layouts and never have done. I dabbled with the idea and made about five layouts before I decided it wasn’t for me.
I now have a load of 12x12 paper that is cumbersome to sell on. I need to start cutting it up and using it for pocket pages.

I believe the Pazzles machines are still supported by Sure Cuts A Lot (on Windows - newer Macs have issues with legacy cutters). Not sure if you can still get blades, but I remember seeing YouTube videos for cutting out the center of an old mat and taping new Amazon mats to the cutting area.

I blame TM for my overwhelming/overflowing craft room. I must purge - there is too much stuff and instead of feeling inspired, I just feel overwhelmed :-(

I've actually been sitting on boxes of 12x12 paper and embellishments that I want to find a home for - I can bring myself to throw it away. I know someone could make good use of it....but just need to find them! - I need to post more so I can get to the FSOT board since I can't find anyone local who wants it.

I donated a bunch of it to our local library. Some I tossed out.

I sold most of my big regrets (Quickutz, other dies, large 12x12 hoard) for my last move, but I still have a box of color-sorted lumpy embellishments that I’ll never use. Ribbon and washi - too much of it but looking at it gives me joy... Making Memories paint - I owned them all and barely used them and had to trash them when they separated too much to shake together and dried shut. Foam stamps because they were cheaper than rubber but rarely used. I’ve got some border bunches and stamps I’ve only used once or twice, but I don’t regret them, yet. Ask me in a few more years. Omg yes! The making memories paint! I went down to my craft room at Christmas to get my revolution machine to cut some diecuts for Christmas bags. And looked in my drawer of it (every. color.) and they’d all dried up. Some never used. 😭 The Kaisercraft paints in tubes were still fine. The revolution machine I regretted then. I used it a bit when I bought it, but hadn’t used it for probably 10 years. I started using it to cut the dies and the plastic ‘teeth’ on the wheels started all breaking off - I assume due to just age. Very much beyond time to do a purge/trash down there.

Most of my regrettable buys are things that were trendy. I didn’t really like them in the first place but I got sucked in. Foam stamps with acrylic paint, the grunge look, and unfinished chip board are high on the list. The big one is the original Cricut and, of course, all those cartridges. It was just too much work and too many choices for me. coloradocropper LOL at the Blade Runner. People at crops and on forums would talk about how awful that thing was. It became kind of a joke. Thank goodness I was warned off of that one.

I regret thinking Basic Grey would be around forever & not buying MORE. I love it. I don't mind selling stuff in the craft store garage sales, because then it means I can buy more stuff. I'm hoping we can have one this year, and I can make $100+ and put it towards a Gemini Jr.

LOL, the Blade Runner is a regret for me too -- I had such hope for it, and I kept thinking it was user error until I finally gave up on it and decided it was just a dud tool to begin with. I think I also tried at least 2 other "simple" cutting systems (yeah, right!) that never worked. All of those things are long gone! I've had a Cameo for about 5 years so I no longer have a need to try any other method to make embellishments. (Love my Cameo!) I regret not buying more Basic Grey paper. I loved their paper lines and covet the pieces I have left. Would definitely buy more if it was available! scrapbookwriter , let us know if you decide to sell! EDIT: a post by JavaJones on another thread reminded me that one of those other cutting systems I tried and didn't like was the Coluzzle. I never could get the hang of it, LOL.

I regret the MM Slice and allllll the cartridges I bought on clearance. That thing worked great... two or three times. Then it started cutting wonky, and it was already discontinued. As a cardmaker, it was *in theory* kinda the perfect cutter: scalable, but small footprint (unlike the Cricut). Which leads me to another regret. *sigh* Allllll those Cricut catridges. I got an old-school Cricut as a hand-me-down, so the price of the MACHINE was right, but the cartridges were not that cheap. And because it takes up so much room to use, I rarely get it out. And because I so rarely get it out, every time I use it is like the first time - I have to read the manual and re-learn how it works. I use my Gemini and dies all the time! I don't know why I can't get into the groove with the electronic cutters. Christmas stuff might be another regret. I am helpless before beautiful Christmas papers, sentiments, embossing folders, etc. I could happily make Christmas cards for the rest of my life with what I already have, but every year I manage to buy some new bit of Christmas loveliness. I need to purge the cheap stuff and the random wood-mounted snowman stamps.

I know that I'll be in the minority but my biggest regret was the Gemini Jr. After my Vagabond broke, I read reviews for die cut machines and people were raving about the Gemini Jr so I bought one. I really didn't like not having the platform to place things on before cutting so I sold it after less than a month.

My cricut.
My dh gave me one for Christmas one year and it was so unbelievable sweet but I've used it maybe 10 times.
I would LOVE to get rid of it but have no idea who would even want it.

I will say (and I know this is not possible for everyone) but having a dedicated cutting station for my Cricut was a game changer for me. I did have to put other stuff away to make room for it, but I didn't spend any $ to do it, I repurposed a small old table, and put up a hook I had to hang my mats on the wall behind it. I then went through my cartridges and picked out the ones I really truly liked and put them in a small box right behind the machine. I find that I use it much more now. My cricut. My dh gave me one for Christmas one year and it was so unbelievable sweet but I've used it maybe 10 times. I would LOVE to get rid of it but have no idea who would even want it. Why don't you use it? Learning curve? Too much work? Not accessible? I am just curious because I was in the same boat for a while and when I really drilled down to why I don't use it, it was having to drag it out with all the accessories, etc and it was a pain. So I decided that I would address the issue. It might help if you thought about why you don't use it. If you really don't like it, it will sell on Craig's list. I sold my small one on there, and bought the Expression. I actually regret that now.

I am disabled with limited use of my hands and not having any place for it to be easily accessed was the biggest issue along with the cost of the cartridges. If I had a bigger crafty place then I could have it setup and ready to use but I don't so it sits in my closet. I will get it out and try to sell it.

I regret spending $40 on watercolor markers that either put out too little or too much product, though it could be user error, also. It's not worth it if I have to spend hours figuring out how to use a product. I am considering purchasing the Altenew Watercolor markers, have you tried those? I saw Vicki P use them in a video and it looked great! Just wondering if anyone had any feedback on them.
