Did I read that right? They didn't test his blood for drugs or alcohol? I don't know what "Investigators did not seek a search warrant for Woods' blood samples" means. If that's true, then woooooooow There was no evidence of impairment at the scene of the crash. That was determined and announced pretty quickly. Therefore they didn't seek tests.

His previous history should have warranted taking labs. That's not how it works. They take the current situation and apply the rules and laws.

Everyday in South Dakota is usually a slow news day so it is not uncommon for accidents to be reported on the news. The only time an update is given on the cause is if there was a fatality. South Dakota is 100% Joe Schmo's so I don't see him receiving better treatment.

Are the rules the same for everyone (minus maybe some govt workers, CIA, FBI, etc) or not?

I can see what you are saying for most instances, but this is at least his 3rd daytime accident in which it appears he fell asleep at the wheel. I realize for your average person that info would not be known, but I certainly bet it is known about Tiger, and therefore it seems it would be warranted.

I always check the weather at several stops on the turnpike before I travel. I have also asked other travelers what the weather conditions are like when I stop at Breezewood. My grandmother had a story like yours about traveling on the turnpike without washer fluid, so I always try to remember too! My daughter drove down to DC to visit her boyfriend a couple weeks ago and I filled up the washer fluid and put an extra bottle in the trunk.
I'm originally from SWPA and now live in the DC area. I have no problem driving the beltway (on Thanksgiving because there is 0 traffic) up to PA and back the same way; Christmas, it depends on the weather. We usually do the beltway up 70 and 270 on the way there, but the return trip depends on two things: weather and time of day. If we leave in the early afternoon, we'll do the non-turnpike route, but if it's going to be 3 or later when we leave, we'll do the turnpike just because I feel it's better lit and safer than the mountain route. (That is, when we go up for holidays. We did a whirlwind 14 hour visit for Thanksgiving and stayed home for Christmas last year. And it was SO relaxing to stay home for once for Christmas because my parents and father in law live about 40 minutes apart, and it's just so much driving that it's not relaxing some of the time anyway.) When my daughter was a freshman at Univ. of Maryland, we drove 5 hrs. to pick her up, then the next day drove 5 hrs. to wilke's barre pa (husband's grandmothers). Stayed there 2 days, then drove 5 hrs. to Pittsburgh, then the next day I drove 5 hrs. to Maryland, then 5 hrs. home the next day. That was too much traveling, and my college daughter was only home for 20 hrs. I love staying home for the holidays for a change! It's so relaxing, even if relatives visit us.

SPEEDING Cause of Tiger Woods’ car crash is revealed, report says Updated 10:25 AM; Today 5:51 AM By Mike Rosenstein | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com When the Masters begins Thursday in Augusta, Ga., five-time champion Tiger Woods won’t be on the course. In fact, if or when he returns to golf following February’s one-car crash outside of Los Angeles is a great unknown. But we can’t say the same for the cause of the accident, according to TMZ. Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Tiger was speeding when he lost control of his SUV and we’re told the Sheriff is hanging the cause of the accident squarely on speed. We’re told the SUV’s black box shows Tiger actually accelerated at the time of the crash. We’re also told that just as Tiger lost control the SUV actually gained speed. What the (L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept.) does NOT know ... if Tiger was conscious when he lost control and careened down the embankment. In an update to its original story, TMZ reports Woods was driving 83 mph in a 45-mph zone, and that law enforcement sources say “speed was the sole cause of the crash.”Per TMZ, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. will release its findings Wednesday morning. Last week, USA Today reported Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the cause of the crash had been determined and the investigation had concluded, but he needed Woods’ permission to release the report. However according to TMZ, Woods waived his right of privacy to authorize the accident report’s release. TMZ also reports no criminal charges will be filed and no citations will be issued to Woods. The 15-time major champion suffered major trauma to his legs in the rollover crash, requiring emergency surgery. He is recovering at home in Florida. ** www.nj.com/sports/2021/04/cause-of-tiger-woods-car-crash-is-revealed-report-says.html

Interesting how although Tiger Woods was clearly speeding (going double the speed limit) 83 mph in a 45 mph zone and that is what has now been determined as the sole cause of the crash, he still gets away with no citations on his record. Not one ticket for speeding! If it had been you or me in that situation you know we'd have gotten speeding tickets or some citation instead of having gotten off scott free. Again the difference in the eyes of the law between celebrities and everyone else.

I was in a MAJOR car accident a few years ago. I was driving on a dry road and going the speed limit. I was in the mountains, the roads are steep and curvy so you cannot drive fast and I am a cautious driver. I always wear my seat belt.
A deer ran into my car and I crossed a median and 2 oncoming lanes of traffic, went down into an 8 foot ravine and only stopped because I hit a tree (thank goodness I didn't go down the side of the mountain). No one was around that witnessed the accident but luckily a nurse was on her way home and saw my car and stopped and apparently the man behind her did too. I was briefly unconscious. The man got into the passenger side of my SUV, pulled me out and took me up the hill - I heard him saying the car was on fire (turns out it wasn't but he thought it was).
My head had gone through the side window and was pouring blood, my arm was broken and my back pain was unbearable. I had glass sticking out of my head and the side of my face. The nurse was holding a towel to my head to stop the blood and I was of course very dazed and confused as to what was happening.
The next thing I know I am laying in the back of an ambulance on a board with a neck brace and a police officer literally lays a ticket on my chest and says "I don't think you were wearing your seat belt so I am giving you a ticket for that" Of course I was so out of it that I couldn't disagree - I couldn't even speak at that point. The EMT said "I will stick it in you purse".
I mean I got a ticket for a seat belt violation (which I am sure I was wearing it) while I was losing blood and laying in the back of an ambulance, yet Tiger Woods doesn't get a ticket for driving twice the speed limit.
Sorry, don't meant to rant but that is so wrong !! Thank goodness he will be okay and that he didn't hurt anyone else, but if you are going that fast, it is a possibility that you could have hurt someone else.

We think it is probably because they are getting the info from the black box, not from an approved police monitoring method. We may be wrong, but we have slept at Holiday Inn Express before.

So someone with a history of driving impaired goes off the road at 45 mph over the speed limit and appears to have hit the gas instead of the brake 🤔 no toxicology done after the accident. That sounds about right 🙄.
