not diabetes, nor ambien, nor drunken stupor will make you say horrible things that don't already live in your head. It has to be there in order for it to come out.

i saw this last night on the news. I hope he is never asked to work again. Blaming Type 1 Diabetes is like saying his only racist when he is drunk. BULLSHIT.

Glory hallelujah that, while we've not moved enough as a society to not have these monsters living and working among us, we've moved enough to ensure there are CONSEQUENCES for their hatred now and to make it clear to society as a whole that THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE in society. PERIOD.

When I was growing up, this would have been laughed off/ignored. Social media has made that impossible and I am SO GRATEFUL for that!

Norman Mayor Breea Clark said a statement isn't enough from the network or the OSSAA. To prevent a similar incident from happening again, she urged for measurable action from the OSSAA, such as implicit bias training or screening of the announcers hired for Oklahoma high school games.

Clark said she would host a town hall with Norman youth to hear their input. The mayor has been in contact with parents of the players targeted with racial slurs."

I am so sorry those girls were subjected to that fucktard in any way shape or form. And blaming it on diabetes, he's gross.

She didn’t say the national anthem was the “root cause” of anything. 

We can focus on and demand accountability from disgusting people like Matt Rowan while still questioning why a flag and a song must be coupled with athletic events. 

No she didn’t. She said it “causes more problems than it's worth”. I find the national anthem associated with sports as asinine as the next guy. It’s just that phrasing it as she did suggests that we wouldn’t have any of these problems if the national anthem weren’t sung.

To my mind, the national anthem has done this country a favor in opening up dialog on race because Lord knows, none of these (fill-in-the sport) loving racists even bothered to think about the issue until players started kneeling in protest. I know, you can lead them to water all day but you can’t make them drink...

When we lived inAmarillo,TX,the symphony orchestra played the anthem before each performance.
