Good morning! Does anyone else struggle to fit EVERYTHiNG into these crop days? - necessary chores (I made sourdough bread this morning. Fed animals. Unloaded dishwasher.) - want-to-do weekend chores (I love going to Costco with DH. He hates it but he's the only one with the membership as we share it with in-laws, so it's him alone, or him-with-me. I also want to go to an outlet/candy store with DD and get some junk food. We have fun browsing all the options!) - get outside, get exercise (GORGEOUS weekend here. ARGH, I wish it were rain/snow!) - online crops - computer chit-chat - this, *this* is fun and important to me in feeling like it's a "crop" but it's time consuming! Can you imagine if we were all in person and you could just listen to everyone talking but keep cropping. I think that's why the online crops are working for me. Thatās a wasp nest, not a bee colony, and it s going to bug me (no pun intended) FOREVER. I'm no beekeeper, and I know this! It would annoy the heck out of me! OTOH, we've had plenty of wasp nests I could use that sticker to document honestly it would just be Crate Paper Notes and Things . Still have this collection close at hand in my scrap space. Yes, not that much left, but I bought a lot when it was out. Geralyn Sy is my kind of gal. I NEED SOMETHING NEW FROM HER! I've been stalking her shop the past 2 weeks thinking that it must be close to a new release, right? Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking releaseGosh, I can't. There are many aesthetics, colour schemes and themes that make my heart skip a beat. Any one release gets old if I overuse it. I need the whole assortment!

YES - I did mostly clear my schedule for the weekend - DD14 has a zoom retreat for Confirmation this morning and I think DH is taking the girls to the city in the afternoon (he's very brave - D20 needs an outfit for Confirmation and I've already dealt with several meltdowns over that). But there are chores (laundry and bread making) and like you, I love the chat on here. I'm still struggling a little with the virtual crops - I did my first last night and enjoyed it but it's hard to see on the phone and I haven't found a good spot to prop it up and I'm not good at jumping in conversation wise - I did love hearing everyone and will try again today.

1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! | I'm still waiting for my modern take on the good ol' vintage picnic. I'd love a line with gingham, basket weave patterns, food and drinks, grass with daisies, broderie anglaise needlework patterns, some woodland creatures and such.
2. What are you most looking forward to documenting in the COMING YEAR? | No vaccination available for me before summer and after that, we'll be stuck in a waiting-for-booster-shots loop due to the amount of variants popping up left and right. *heavy sigh* So, I'm cautiously hoping for some local travel next autumn. Nothing crazy, nothing fancy. Maybe Christmas with the family this year?
3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves | One of the newer arrivals on Netflix, The Lost Pirate Kingdom, a historically accurate documentary series with reenactments about the rise and fall of Nassau. It treats the main pirates of this era quite equally and fairly (no, there are no records or testimonies Blackbeard was a killer). It's well-paced, dynamic and engaging. Favourite watch of the week and possibly the month for me. Definitely recommended. And it might mean Netflix is looking into a pirate fiction series which I'd be super excited about...

good grief this one photographed poorly - the colours are much nicer irl and the pages are rectangular, honest. This is the last of the ones I was working on last night during the virtual crop. It wasn't coming together then so I waited and finished it up this morning

I NEED SOMETHING NEW FROM HER! I've been stalking her shop the past 2 weeks thinking that it must be close to a new release, right? I'm thinking the same! I've been checking in periodically and I'm really surprised we haven't seen something new in her shop already. We are almost four months into 2021.

They're going to be perfect for pocket pages. It's got me even more excited about what the future holds for Pinkfresh.

Saturday AMA: 1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! The theme, the colours, the patterns, the icons, the sentiments, the overall feel. Do you have any artists or aesthetic/style you'd like to see in this line/release? I would create a few more boy related themes and patterns. No flowers . . . have plenty of those! I have photos for boys age 6-18 so even pre-teen and teen appropriate themes would work. I'm not into a cartoon style but a little more realistic. That would be for scrapbooking.
2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Vaccination is unfolding (but variants are popping up everywhere, too, boo), things will eventually start changing. Talk us through what you hope to see in your scrapbooks next.
I hope to have photos of actual sporting events that my son is competing in, like wrestling. It's been too long for him and his mental health.
3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. Anything that you feel worth sharing with us goes.
We watched a really fun "Ragnarok" here from Norway, needed to use subtitles, but a great contemporary series if you like Thor mythology.
Now on to actually craft, well actually do some journaling.

Friday AMA: 1. The first batch of 2021 releases are showing up at retailers. Which NEW COLLECTION or product(s) are you most excited about? Which ones are already on your must-buy list? There hasn't been a new collection that has been a must buy for me sadly even more that's UNUSUAL! Lol. I was really drawn to MME Garden Foundry for a bit but that passed.
2. How has the PAST YEAR affected your scrappy ways? With few to no events happening, has your focus shifted? Are you documenting different photos nowadays? How does 2020-2021 look in comparison to your previous years of scrapbooking? I've done more scrapbooking in 2020 than I have since I was a brand new scrapper and excited to scrap all the time. I credit that the the online crops we've had here each weekend. It keeps me focused and scrapping and I don't let housework of other distractions take my scrappy time. I've scrapped quite a few older photos as well. 3. How are you making this stay-at-home crop EXTRA FUN for yourself? Are you playing a TV show or movie in the background today? Listening to a podcast or music? Got some treats from the store? Got a furry companion by your side? I'm giving myself the luxury of spending most of the weekend here hanging out with the peas, and joining in as many virtual crops as I can manage. No extra special treats, but I do have my cat nearby Ok, that was yesterday's AMA now to see what's up for today I also want to say it's so good to see you craftykitten! You've been missed!

1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! Iām a fan of color washes, geometry and small repetitive patterns. Stripes & dots too. ( maybe thatās why Iām drawn to pinkfresh ). My ultimate paper line would be to have color wash papers in every color imaginable. I know it canāt happen because that hundreds of papers but it would be so nice. And if we are really using our imaginations here, then I propose a paper of requirement, ( a la Harry Potter ) you get your paper pack and itās exactly right for you and as you use it, each paper is just what you need.
Realistically speaking, can someone do a modern, non gendered, stripes polka dots & plaids please, not the usual all pastels or all grungy drab colors. Just nice bright vibrant colors.
2. What are you most looking forward to documenting in the COMING YEAR? My nieces wedding. Small 30 people out doors back yard but I am anticipating scrapping that so much.
3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves Iām still binging the Murdoch mysteries

Ok letās talk about that Photoplay sweet as Honey collection. Because I am a beekeeper and it is literally me in gnome form!!Argh! Itās way more cutesy than I would normally buy but that gnome has a beehive! Itās a weirdly...specific....collection? It is so very specific, craftykitten , I agree. How fun that you are a beekeeper! I absolutely love the art of beekeeping and I'm always on the lookout in the city where I live for the beehives that are being maintained by the few urban beekeepers. I was super duper excited when I spotted the first bees in the apricot blossom back in late February! I snapped a photo and everything. Such incredible creatures. What a shame PhotoPlay got the wasp reference wrong. But hey, at least they're offering something that is 95% compatible with beekeeping, right? Very rary in scrapbooking. They also had Wild Honey last year (I think) if you want something less gnome-y. Some of the collection papers and embellishments are still available from online retailers if you're interested. š depending on many things, we hope to reschedule our wedding. Ooh, how exciting, fingers crossed for you! Hoping for a joyous, safe wedding celebration later this year for you two. š°šš Geralyn Sy is my kind of gal. Her designs and sentiments just call to me every time. I would really love for her to come out with some designs around drinking alcohol - beer/wine/cocktails. It's something that is really missing from my stash, and the scrapbooking world in general. Me and my husband love to drink wine and beer when we travel and I have a lot of photos of us in bars or drinking with meals. Yes! We need more documenting supplies for what holidays look like IRL for many of us: drinking and eating. We are also will-travel-for-food(-and-wine-and-beer-and-distillery-visits) folks. It's always such a pleasant surprise when I stumble upon a stamp set. š·š When I see Memory Planner spreads like yours, it sets a little fire in my belly and makes me want to start a similar project. I am the queen of wanting to do all the projects and not doing any of them, though! Aww, how kind of you to say! I'm a big fan of my memory planner project. Flipping through the pages when the year's over is such a trip down memory lane and since I get to overindulge my current events obsession with this particular project (vs Project Life), I get really taken back to the ways the world changed and operated. It's very much a hybrid between news archives and personal archives the way I approach it. If you're ever willing to jump on board for a year, you've got my full support! š DH has finally agreed to get vaccinated to help protect me now that they are finding autoimmune people arenāt developing the same level of response, so thatās a plus So glad your husband's getting vaccinated to help protect you (and the other people around him - and himself)! That must be a major relief for you. š An outdoor line (NOT camping) primarily for kids but could be used for adults as well. Iām thinking different trees, grass, rain, mud, etc that is not photos. Maybe even one with walking shoes Sounds like a very good and super versatile idea. Many people have truly embraced local walks and hikes this past year so I'm hoping the scrapbook companies fill this basic gap. It's kind of unbelievable they haven't yet although Shimelle's Never Grow Up did offer some papers in this spirit. š¤Ø I wish that Obed Marshall would do a digital line. His stuff makes me feel so happy. Give it another few months and it should be available on American Crafts Digitals. He picked a very pretty shade of pastel blue for his first line and I get why you'd love to play with it digitally. š I've just got into podcasts (took me a while!) and I am listening to some Australian true crime podcasts by Andrew Rule. You've probably heard about it already but just in case you haven't: Casefile is the most famous Aussie(-ish) true crime podcast. The anonymous host is Australian although the cases covered are from all over the world (including Australia, of course). Definitely one to check out if you haven't yet. Canadian True Crime is also hosted by a fellow Aussie (oi, oi, oi). There appears to be something about Australians and true crime, teehee. šØšŖš¦ An outdoors collection - not specific to camping or hiking or...but general for photos of gardens and parks and streams and deer/raccoons/skunks/rabbits/etc... Sounds like you need the collection natscraps wants to see in stores. Scrapbookers, unite! šæļøšš³ I'm hoping to see my son in our family scrapbooks - hoping he can get leave this summer or we can travel to him Wishing you all a happy and safe family reunion this year! I know how much you'd enjoyed and cherished having everyone under the same roof for the holidays in 2019 (from your contributions in the DD thread that year). š I NEED SOMETHING NEW FROM HER! I've been stalking her shop the past 2 weeks thinking that it must be close to a new release, right? I think she may be trying to get her shop straightened out for the change in taxation for Canada, the UK and EU. Hopefully, she'll figure something out soon and return with a glorious release! I did mostly clear my schedule for the weekend - DD14 has a zoom retreat for Confirmation this morning and I think DH is taking the girls to the city in the afternoon (he's very brave - D20 needs an outfit for Confirmation and I've already dealt with several meltdowns over that). Happy shopping to your DDs and husband this afternoon! I hope they find the outfits they've been dreaming of. No more meltdowns! š Do confirmations happen later in the USA compared to Western Europe? I seem to remember the age is 12 in this nook of old Roman tradition but I know rites and rituals may vary a little throughout the world.

Loving all of the wonderful layouts and cards shared so far, thank you all for sharing your lovely work and providing inspiration for us all! This morning I have boxed up my purged craft supplies for donation, dusted off the completed pages of my Scotland album, and pulled together my Scotland album supplies for use this afternoon when I sit down to scrap. I will jot down the challenges and see if I can complete a few of them as I work on the album. I have been really into learning more about geology, earth sciences, climate change, etc lately, and would love to see a collection that celebrates all the aspects of our natural world and wonderful planet Earthārocks, leaves, flowers, stars, rivers and oceans. Not a photorealistic line, but lovely water-colory backgrounds and drawings of our planet home.2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Vaccination is unfolding (but variants are popping up everywhere, too, boo), things will eventually start changing. Talk us through what you hope to see in your scrapbooks next. I am really hoping that we can take two big trips that were cancelled last year: Moving my dd to college in CA, and celebrating my ds graduation from Uni in Scotland. The CA trip is looking probable for July. My sonās uni has grad weeks set aside for 2022 for his undergrad and postgrad year celebrations, but we hope to get to Scotland before then for our own celebration. Fingers crossed!!! 3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. Anything that you feel worth sharing with us goes. We recently re-watched Arrested Development on Netflix, I forgot how funny the earlier seasons of that show were. We are behind the times on popular series from the past, so just started watching The Man in the High Castle and we like it so far. I have Nomadland , Minari, and Promising Young Woman on my list of Oscar nominated films to watch in the coming weeks. I listen to a lot of podcasts when I walk the dog and clean the house. If you like history, especially ancient history, I recommend the Fall of Civilizations podcast (also on YT). They go into depth on the collapse of several ancient civilizations around the globe. Each episode focuses on a different cultureāfascinating and well done.

Do you have any artists or aesthetic/style you'd like to see in this line/release? MUSIC! All kinds, instruments (all kinds), concerts, rock bands, punk rock, reggae, show tunes, as I have established lol I do not care for the current offerings (Kaisercraft On Stage is good but that is old now) I want thick beautiful paper and some whimsical and realistic designs, and interesting sayings, not hokey ones. (like music is the language of the heart ) DS plays guitar, bass, and mandolin and I think I have bought all the "cool" music paper I can find. 2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Vaccination is unfolding (but variants are popping up everywhere, too, boo), things will eventually start changing. Talk us through what you hope to see in your scrapbooks next. "What We Do in the Shadows" was renewed for Season 3, (woot woot!!) and they started filming. I cannot wait. I made a commitment during the pandemic to read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I'm now on the last book, and its been a weird, crazy and entertaining ride.

I seem to remember the age is 12 in this nook of old Roman tradition but I know rites and rituals may vary a little throughout the world timing varies by diocese with some confirming super early around First Communion time and some confirming in mid-late high school. Our parish only confirms every other year due to being so small and rural. a collection that celebrates all the aspects of our natural world and wonderful planet Earthārocks, leaves, flowers, stars, rivers and oceans. Project love for page 6: Linda "Paradise found" I love that you recreated the water and sand landscape with your cardstock choices here. It lets the photos shine while the white background brings that pop of contrast to frame the memory. Those little shell touches are delicate and whimsical. The organic shape of the white die-cut on the top (left page) gives the spread a relaxed and natural vibe. Makes me want to go to the beach! "Fountain of youth" Very nice straightforward geometry on this page. You held back and let the soothing photos do the talking which was the right way to go in my opinion. Love the light reflecting off the water surface, it looks magical. The framing on the bottom and top of the LO brings in just enough pattern and colour to add that little touch of je-ne-sais-quoi. kitbop "I'll be watching you" Goodness me, this is adorable and detailed (and clean)! Your rewriting of that Phil Collins classic cracked me up big time (petition to make "Every shelf you break" song canon). I love your choice of yellow and blue as main colours for the project as they both complement and contrast with Hobbes' pretty coat. The inclusion of pink in small touches is really the perfect colour companion to these main tones, great choice! You did so well filling up the white space angles with the speech bubbles (Shimelle would be so pleased). Every detail is perfectly positioned and carefully thought out. I adore your focus on balance while being creative. Beautifully done! (and amazing photo selection to showcase Hobbes from up close but also in his "natural" habitat)

peachiceteas (and anyone looking for a cocktail stamp set)āI picked up this set from Catherine Pooler to use with New Years photos. Since it has a highball glass, I think I will also pull it out to use with our Scotland distillery outing photos. Love the retro aesthetic. @kendramage āWe just started watching What We Do in the Shadows again from the beginning last night because my ds had not seen it yet, so glad there will be a 3rd season!! My ds gave me the first Dark Tower book for Christmas but I havenāt started it yet. Hoping it will be a good Summer Read series for this year I just have to say this about Dark Tower series...I almost quit after the first book, the Gunslinger. I was like, no way this is too obtuse, blah blah...however two things I had to realize... First, King was 19 when he wrote it (!!!) Depending on the edition you have, King has an intro in the Gunslinger, and I found it helpful in understanding where he was when he wrote it. The other conclusion I had to come to was understanding that the Gunslinger is the barest sketch of the series. It's like licking a lollipop one time and tasting cherry. I wanted details! More character development! Ect! And that comes later. I would have loved if someone had told me these things before I started, so I hope it helps lol...
