1. The first batch of 2021 releases are showing up at retailers. Which NEW COLLECTION or product(s) are you most excited about? Which ones are already on your must-buy list? It's a bit different in the digital scrapbooking world. The two main stores where I buy all my goodies (The Lilypad and The Digital Press) both have new releases every Friday. I love this time of year because you're coming into Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, so a lot of the new collections are lovely bright colours, which is right up my alley.
2. How has the PAST YEAR affected your scrappy ways? With few to no events happening, has your focus shifted? Are you documenting different photos nowadays? How does 2020-2021 look in comparison to your previous years of scrapbooking? I have been taking a lot more selfies, and scrapping about the every day things. Most of my photos in 2020 were of walking the dog..... so many dog photos! Especially when were were in strict lockdown and were only allowed out for one hour a day to exercise.
3. How are you making this stay-at-home crop EXTRA FUN for yourself? Are you playing a TV show or movie in the background today? Listening to a podcast or music? Got some treats from the store? Got a furry companion by your side? I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do, to be honest. The weather this weekend is glorious.... 27C (80F) on Saturday and 25C (77F) on Sunday. I want to make the most of the warm weather before it disappears into the winter gloom.

Hi, I'm enjoying seeing everyone's layouts! I'm HOPING to join in! This thread is already motivating me. I still LOVE scrapbooking, and I've been *meaning* to delve into it (ESPECIALLY during this damn pandemic), but just haven't.....yet...for no good reason !!! It's time to scrap this sweet 10-year-old pug who adopted us in September . He doesn't have any layouts yet, and he's getting sad that his brother Meaty and his (former) sister Sophie have not just lots of layouts---but their own albums! This is "new guy" (the pug with his tongue out), and his older brother, who pretty much ignores him... This will be a CUTE layout----now I just need to dig into alllll my cute doggie-themed papers, stickers, embellies, and STAMPS!!! I have SO MUCH stuff, I haven't bought anything new in a long time, and won't!

Thank you Jessica - I've never done a virtual crop before and I enjoyed hearing everyone's voices and seeing their faces. I finished 3 layouts and started 2 others so it was productive too

Good morning from my sunny nook of the world (yay, the rain is gone)! Slept in, got breakfast served in bed and enjoyed feeling the sunshine on my face with an acoustic chill playlist in the background. I hope everyone's Saturday is off to as good a start. ššš Can't wait to play some more with everyone in here today... Here are the SATURDAY CHALLENGES: 1. Theme | Let's give ourselves a little love this Saturday. Today's focus is all about ME (and by that, I mean yourself!). Include yourself in your documenting in one way or another (selfie, personal story, favourites, etc.). If you're making a card or being creative otherwise, include yourself by using a favourite of yours on that project (fave colours, technique, etc.). 2. Colours | March marks the change of season but for today, focus on being OUT OF SEASON. Anything goes as long as you stay clear of the traditional seasonal colours for the present moment. If spring's on your doorstep, use autumn colours instead. Vice versa for our croppers down under. Easter is just a few weeks away but how about using some Christmas colours and papers? Take a quick trip in the time machine and challenge yourself to be unseasonally creative! 3. Products & technique | We're turning a NEW leaf over today so grab something - anything! - from your most recent haul(s). Dive in and use a product you've purchased not long ago. Scrap supplies aren't meant to age like fine wine so cut into that paper, use that tool, try the new paints.

Project love for page 3: Linda "I heart my cat" Oh my, you won't believe how my brain deceived me when I first scrolled through the discussion and noticed your new project. I swear for a fraction of a second, I thought your black kitty in the right photo was... a baby elephant (standing up)! š If you look at the small-sized version of your project, you can maybe see it too. EEP! I love the contrast between the grey, black, white and pink here. It reminds me of liquorice allsorts. I love that you created a personal page with your furry companions climbing all over you against a feline-only page. The paw prints are adorable and I love how the pink matting creates a trail for the eye to follow: so efficient and pretty! š "Dinner out" Ah, be still my heart, strips of paper! I'm having a paper strip moment so this is right up my alley. I love that oh-so-nautical contrast of white, navy and red so you're perfectly on theme here. I love how your kiddo is embracing you in the top photo: it reminds of the interlaced links of an anchor/mooring chain! Simple done well with the bits of pattern paper "anchoring" your photos down just right. ā "Peacocks" FLOURISH BY MAGGIE HOLMES! I recognise that pretty peacock paper... And you've found the perfect occasion to use it. I love that the blush pink background of the pattern paper balances out all the green in the photos. I'm partial to a good use of the colour wheel. š The B-side of the peacock paper with the bricks brings just the right amount of soft white and texture to this LO, by the way. Very smart of you to use it as well. Overall, I love the subtle visual rendition of all the textures evoked here, from the blades of grass to the feathers, the bricks and bark of the trees. You grounded those photos by using a large strip of pattern paper at the bottom and let the airiness in with the white space at the top: well done. š grammadee "Faces of lockdown" I love that you're recording your family's lockdown photos! Such great use of the colour wheel here to complement the shades present in the photos with the blue and green contrasting the photos' terracotta and beige tones. What a smart idea to use pattern paper embodying the spirit of lockdown with the leaves representing the outside on the blue pattern paper (furthest removed from the photos - the "forbidden") and the brick pattern paper representing the home (closest to the photos - the "permitted"). You've chosen great stay-at-home scenes to document too: I think 2020 was the year of being a couch potato and baking, for sure! š

The whole layout is white and shades of blue (other than parts of the pics. Sounds dreamy and cosmic! š Well, last year I scrapped more than ever and tried different papercrafting projects. I have really been more adventurous and creative during the pandemic. I'm glad to read scrapbooking has been your pandemic silver lining, kellyr21... It's extra important to embrace every little thing that goes right and well during these trying times. š Loved the Midnight Library. You see the ending coming a mile away, but that didn't bother me. I thought the questions it raises, about mental health, regrets, life choices were all intriguing and well written. I love magical realism fiction and this book delivered. There were some sections that veer a little cheesy/self-helpy but I was sufficiently entertained and sad when I finished. Thank you for the honest review! I love how authors are embracing mental health struggles in a more open and candid manner these days. Books are important vehicles for societal messages and furthering important change. š New product: It's "new' to me- Paige Evans Bloom Street. I planted a garden for the first time this year, so I am excited to use Bloom Street to document that! Congratulations on your brand new "DIY" garden! It must be so exciting to see everything grow and flourish as the seasons pass. Bloom Street is indeed a perfect collection to document nature and flowers... š¼š³ But I also hope to finish some work on the scrapbook for our big trip to Scotland in 2018. Oh, Scotland! One of my favourite places in the world... Fingers crossed you can dive back into that album this weekend and dream away of happier times when travel and adventure was at our fingertips. Is it too early for some peated scotch? (yes, yes it is, it's just past 10AM here š¤£) I had pre-ordered the Pinkfresh Studio Some Days and Keeping It Real collections from ACOT and finally received them last week. These two are on my radar as well! I think they'll mix beautifully together to make a XL spring collection. I've taken up watercolor (started late 2019 so just before the pandemic started) and I'm using it more in my cardmaking. Watercolours are the unsung heroes of cardmaking and scrapbooking. š¤© So much fun, so much versatility! No idea when they'll get to any of my family or me, but given we have the virus relatively under control I'm not too worried about how long it might take. "Relatively under control" is a euphemism, trust me. The rest of the world is jealous - JEALOUS, I tell you - of New Zealand and Australia right now... š I lost one of my cats last year and I'm so glad I was home for the few months prior because I have so many more photos of her than I otherwise would. Sending you hugs and love. š¤ I hope the photos and documenting can help you heal as you grieve. Losing a pet is hard. I've scrapped more, and I've really enjoyed the addition of online crops!!! I don't think that would ever have happened without 2020. And for me, an introvert who likes having her WHOLE stash available, this is preferable to an in-person crop! I'm so glad this has allowed you to discover something that works just right for you. You get to have companionship in crafting while keeping all the advantages of being at home, yay! š My PL is pretty thin and I havenāt even done any this year. I think for now Iāve switched to event documenting in pocket pages and not dividing by months or anything. Sounds like the right compromise for these weird times and the impact they have on our photography habits and just overall "boring" lives. š Got a furry companion by your side? As always. His surgery is next Friday so Iām just letting him to any darn thing that he wants. Much love to you and your fur monster. Hoping for a problem-free surgery and easy recovery. š I'm thinking that I need to get back to my Project Life. I did a great job keeping up during January, but I haven't done a page since. Go, AussieMeg, go! Project Life is a beast but when you manage to (sort of) keep up with it through the year, it's manageable and always such a pleasure to dive back into later on. You got this! š£ Well, my story is long, but due to family stress and the need to take care of family I didn't scrap at all but did "some" card making. My mojo kind of returned in November, and this year has been a bit better. Hoping for an easier year in 2021, angel97701. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate but may finally find a bit more balance and practice some self-care with your crafting this year. Much love to you. šŗ My DH hooked up my new pictureMate printer and I'm in love. I just printed 5 photos in minutes vs fiddling with my big printer trying to figure out why the margins are off. Feels like a brand new day. So glad your new printer is working out for you, scrappyem! You don't realise how much your previous ways were a burden until you can move on to a new strategy. It's the little things in life, right down to scrapbooking habits... š I'm going to get the online crop going here in the next few minutes after I finish some dinner. Thanks so much to you and the fellow virtual crop organisers for working on making this an extra fun weekend for all croppers! š

And, of course, some questions to keep the conversation going! I'm loving reading all your different replies and getting little peeks into the Peas' lives through these. š
Saturday AMA:
1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! The theme, the colours, the patterns, the icons, the sentiments, the overall feel. Do you have any artists or aesthetic/style you'd like to see in this line/release?
2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Vaccination is unfolding (but variants are popping up everywhere, too, boo), things will eventually start changing. Talk us through what you hope to see in your scrapbooks next.
3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. Anything that you feel worth sharing with us goes.

He doesn't have any layouts yet Aww, time to remedy that. What an adorable face! š¶š How could you ~not~ scrap that?... Very happy to have you with us this weekend. I hope this will be the opportunity for you to put photo to paper again. It doesn't need to be impressive, complicated or fussy. Just a simple layout to get your creative juices flowin' again. You got this, scrappintoee! I finished one page that met all three of SleepingBooty's Friday challenges, but I'll wait until daylight to take my picture. Yay, can't wait to see what you came up with! š

First, thanks for hosting Jessica. Sorry I couldn't play along but your hardwork is appreciated! sleepingbooty I need to know how to quote many people in one thread. Love that instead of separate posts. And for today's #3 Products and Techniques, I have already been upstairs swatching. I have wanted to get this done for a LONG time, and today is THE day! And now for Saturday AMA: 1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! Anything mixed media style with bright colors. Bright makes me happy! 2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Stop the Blur. Love the concept, and I just want to get my photos printed at this point in my life. 3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. Anything that you feel worth sharing with us goes. Lots of crochet videos so not sure anyone is really interested in that. But here is a new video by Roben-Marie Smith (one of my favs) on a review of black pens. I thought y'all might love this. Enjoy!www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG_-gwlLDfM

sleepingbooty I need to know how to quote many people in one thread. Love that instead of separate posts. No problem, it's super easy! As you read the posts, highlight (mouse click) the passage you're interested in replying to and a "quick quote" option will pop up. Click that and the passage will automatically be quoted in the reply window at the bottom of the page. Just keep reading and highlighting passages to add them to the same reply window. VoilĆ . š

Morning all!
Ok letās talk about that Photoplay sweet as Honey collection. Because I am a beekeeper and it is literally me in gnome form!!Argh! Itās way more cutesy than I would normally buy but that gnome has a beehive! Itās a weirdly...specific....collection? Theyāve gone to so much effort to make it honey bee themed and the gnomes have hives that are correct....EXCEPT the bees hanging from a tree? Thatās a wasp nest, not a bee colony, and it s going to bug me (no pun intended) FOREVER. I might have to get it and just not use those bits though.
Todayās AMA... 1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY ....honestly it would just be Crate Paper Notes and Things. I didnāt get enough of it at the time and of course now I canāt get it anywhere. I could make every page with that collection until the end of time. It felt vintage without being dirty brown, I loved all the details and textures.
2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? ....depending on many things, we hope to reschedule our wedding.
3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: Weāve been doing lots of rewatching, and films in sequence....all the Star Wars films, all the Lord of the Rings films, all the Hunger Games. So I donāt really have any new recommendations. We did start the Falcon and the Winter Soldier yesterday which seems promising!

Hey ladies. Happy Saturday to you!
I'm going to try and join in with the chat this weekend. It would be great if I did get some scrapping done but my list of household jobs that I've been putting off has been growing and growing!
I am going to go back through the thread and play catch up but here are my Saturday answers;
1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! The theme, the colours, the patterns, the icons, the sentiments, the overall feel. Do you have any artists or aesthetic/style you'd like to see in this line/release?
Geralyn Sy is my kind of gal. Her designs and sentiments just call to me every time. I would really love for her to come out with some designs around drinking alcohol - beer/wine/cocktails. It's something that is really missing from my stash, and the scrapbooking world in general. Me and my husband love to drink wine and beer when we travel and I have a lot of photos of us in bars or drinking with meals. I need more to help me document those stories.
2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Vaccination is unfolding (but variants are popping up everywhere, too, boo), things will eventually start changing. Talk us through what you hope to see in your scrapbooks next.
Really good question! I don't think I'll be travelling internationally this year but I really hope that I can have scrapbooks full of vacations right here on British soil. Days at the beach, walks on the hills, family barbeques.
3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. Anything that you feel worth sharing with us goes.
I watched Firefly Lane on Netflix recently and really enjoyed that. It's the story of two adult women and how their friendship has unfolded over the years. I've enjoyed watching it whilst scrapping or doing jobs around the house. It's not too heavy and easy to follow. It also has Katherine Heigl in who is just hilarious.

Gosh you ladies are so talented! How lucky are we to have such a lovely and passionate community? ā¤ļø I dunno, I donāt have any space (weāre running our own business from home, my desk has become a dumping ground). I feel a bit overwhelmed with what to scrapbook because my cancer is incurable so at some point Iām going to be out of time...so it all feels likeTOO MUCH PRESSURE. I feel like any page I do has to be especially meaningful and profound and so I donāt know where to start. I too won't pretend to know how you're feeling but I will echo all the sentiments from the other ladies around not putting too much pressure on yourself. Do it for yourself, love. ā¤ļø I imagine that whilst documenting your memories is your driving force, take time to enjoy it. That is the most important thing in my eyes. That we all use the time we have wisely to do the things we love. And when we don't love or enjoy them anymore - it's totally fine for them to take a back seat. Thinking of you, craftykitten ! Old Karen Foster stickers... I love the colour red you've used on your layout Linda. It really compliments the red tones in the drinks. I need to remember to use red more! March 01-06 in my 2021 memory planner featuring trumpet playing, Dries Van Noten's new ready-to-wear line for autumn/winter at the Paris Fashion Week, current events, little bits of pattern paper, personal anecdotes and my usual minimal style: Beautiful style Booty. I adore your minimalist, just the right amount of embellishment, aesthetic. I try to have a similar style in my own albums. When I see Memory Planner spreads like yours, it sets a little fire in my belly and makes me want to start a similar project. I am the queen of wanting to do all the projects and not doing any of them, though! š¤£ Breaking news! I just finished a DCWV cardstock pad!š AMAZING! Well done. If we had a bell that we could ring every time someone used something up, I would ring it hard for you! A cardstock pad is brilliant work. Here is my take on the pop up sketch from page two. I stretched it over two pages and of course made some other adaptations, but I started with the arrangement of triangles in the sketch. I love how bright and vibrant these pages are. It's impossible to scroll past them and not comment. I'm captivated by the striking colour on the white! I've had this one saved for a while. It's an Allison Davis sketch/example I love this, kitbop! I love the colours so much - they're my vibe! I love how you have the patterned paper in the background at an angle, but it's grounded by the fact the photos are straight. It's not a design I've done before, but I feel like I might have to give it a go. Thanks for the inspiration. It's time to scrap this sweet 10-year-old pug who adopted us in September Oh my goodness! Hello little guy! That's the thing about puppers - we welcome them into our homes and they totally steal our hearts.

I was scanning the chat yesterday and early this morning and I finally got a chance to comment. Here's my AMAs. Thursday AMA: 1. Project: Getting the rest of my 2020 photos uploaded for printing. 2. Immunity: Iāve had no luck getting a vaccine appointment. Some parts of our state have managed to get all the priority groups vaccinated so the whole state opened it up to 40+ yesterday. Next week is 16 and over. The problem is some counties like mine havenāt even been able to vaccinate the first phase of priority groups yet (which includes me) so Iāve basically given up hope of finding an appointment for now. Itās not worth stressing over at the moment. Iām hoping end of April when the rush is over. DH has finally agreed to get vaccinated to help protect me now that they are finding autoimmune people arenāt developing the same level of response, so thatās a plus 3. Currently: I donāt follow a lot of techniques, sketches, etc. Iāve been in āget it doneā and āuse it upā mode. I do however always love me some Photoplay Friday AMA: 1. New Collection: Luckily nothing is an āOh I have to have it!ā I have way too much stash as it is and need to work my way through some of it. Not quite a new release, but my not so LSS is holding Photoplayās Lucky Charm for me. 2. Past year: My style has changed to āthere ae actually completed layouts in the albumsā Iāve cropped more in the past year than the past five years combined. Iām loving virtual crops because I donāt have to pack up all my stuff or think ahead too much. I get so much more done even in a short period of time. 3. My regular local scrapping group does a virtual crop once a month so Iām playing with them for most of the day today. I donāt know if Iāll get any scrappy time in tomorrow. I may send DH out on a food run later. Saturday AMA: 1. Designer for a day: An outdoor line (NOT camping) primarily for kids but could be used for adults as well. Iām thinking different trees, grass, rain, mud, etc that is not photos. Maybe even one with walking shoes. DS 5 and I spend so much time at the various parks and playgrounds. Thereās not a whole lot out there theme wise for that. Colors would be blues, greens, yellows, oranges, and brown. Iām a big fan of Photoplay so something similar to their products. 2. Future: DS is just starting to get into sports and will be playing Tball this summer. Heās also made quite a few friends in Jr Kindy so Iām hoping for playdates to scrap. My other scrapping focus will be our 2019 Disney trip 3. Recommendation: I donāt get a lot of time for tv, books etc, but I drank the kool aid last month and am currently hooked on Bridgerton. Iām also all caught up on Zoeyās Extraordinary Playlist and eagerly waiting more.

Thanks Jessica for organizing last night and as always it was a fun time scrapping with you all! I left early (12:15 my time) so I would be in fine scrapping form for today. Gosh, where has the time gone? It seems like only a few hours ago we were chatting, but you've had a full night's sleep since then! It's nearly 11:30pm here. I still have an hour or so before I'm heading off to bed. 1. share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us Lots of bright and pastel colours; summery themes; I must have dots, stripes and flowers on the paper; watercolour paper; flowers, flower stickers, chipboard, wood elements. I wish that Obed Marshall would do a digital line. His stuff makes me feel so happy. 2. What are you most looking forward to documenting in the COMING YEAR? Football, food, concerts, outings with friends...... anything other than photos of walking my dog!
3. your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. I am working on a page at the moment for one of kitbop 's recipe challenges from last month, about my 5 current favourite TV shows: The End, High Fidelity, Firefly Lane, Our Girl, Fisk. As for books, I'm currently binge-reading the DI Hillary Greene series by Faith Martin. And listening to The Tesky Brothers, who are a local band and one of the acts that I saw a few weeks ago. I've just got into podcasts (took me a while!) and I am listening to some Australian true crime podcasts by Andrew Rule.

Wow Iāve missed out on a ton already!! I will be free to play later today. But I have this sketch I want to work with and thought I would post it in case any one else is looking for some sketch inspiration. Thereās lots of room for telling a story if youāre looking for that!

Saturday AMA: 1. Play DESIGNER FOR A DAY and share your ultimate, dream scrapbook or cardmaking release with us! The theme, the colours, the patterns, the icons, the sentiments, the overall feel. Do you have any artists or aesthetic/style you'd like to see in this line/release? An outdoors collection - not specific to camping or hiking or...but general for photos of gardens and parks and streams and deer/raccoons/skunks/rabbits/etc... Not sure on an artist - I tend to be drawn to Photoplay or Echo Park but I'm looking for less cutesy/child-focused for this one.2. What are you most looking forward to documenting (or making cards for) in the COMING YEAR? Vaccination is unfolding (but variants are popping up everywhere, too, boo), things will eventually start changing. Talk us through what you hope to see in your scrapbooks next. I'm hoping to see my son in our family scrapbooks - hoping he can get leave this summer or we can travel to him3. Give your fellow croppers a RECOMMENDATION from your current faves: TV show, movie, (audio) book, podcast, online article, YouTube video, etc. Anything that you feel worth sharing with us goes. gosh - I'm really not into any of that except books. I did recently read The King's Speech www.amazon.com/dp/B004I6DDG0/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1 and really enjoyed it

Hey @patter. If you're on your phone using Tapatalk you can also easily quote several peas and reply. Just click on the quotes/posts you want to reply to (they'll turn blue and at the top of your screen and it'll say "3 selected" or however many) and then just click the arrow on the top right and voila! Super easy! š
