I'm in Maryland. Used to live in Massacusetts and my two favorite stores in MA closed years ago. Haven't come across one around here in MD/DC area.

I had 7 of them at one point within 2 hours of me and they all closed as of several years ago. I only get to an LSS when I travel now.

There are 2 that I know of in the SF Bay Area now, there used to be over 10. One's in San Jose & one is in Berkeley. There is also a store that sells a lot of stamps & some scrappy stuff, so I guess I should consider them a scrapbook store! They also sell hand crafts & antiques.
Other than that, it's pretty sad.

I have one about five minutes away. I try to support them when I can but they generally cost at least twice the price I can get things on the internet for. I know I'm getting customer service and expertise, but it's really hard for me to justify double the cost.

we had an Archivers. we have a local craft store that has been in business for over 50 years. they sell art supplies, halloween stuff, cake decorating, floral, etc. luckily they also carry the major scrap lines so I don't have to shop online. For anyone looking it's Mangelson's in Omaha.

We have a good one in Colorado Springs and a discount shop that only has scrappy supplies. Hate that Archivers closed, but my wallet does not.

Before I moved there were a few around but they never had much that I was interested in. I moved in august and one of them went out of business and I haven't found one yet up here but we do have Michaels, Joanns and Hobby Lobby. So between those and Tuesday Morning I am ok. I also don't really need to add anymore stuff to my stash so it isn't too bad. Of course I do still buy from myself as a CTMH consultant to so no shortage of supplies. I do miss the age of having tons of stores around - There used to be more than 10 in the San Diego area and now I think they are down to 2. Yarn stores seem to be closing to and the cheap stuff at the box stores really are not even close to real yarn it is sad.

Scrapbooks Plus, the last LSS in Northern Virginia, closed at the end of July. ScrapDoodles in Fredericksburg, VA, closed shortly before that. Angela's Happy Stamper, the rubber stamp store, and Goldenshillpapercrafts, a paper arts store, both carry some papers and other scrapping supplies, but not as much as the LSS did. There was a time when we had four LSS all open at the same time in Northern Virginia. It's really sad.
There had been a few in Maryland. The Queen's Ink in Savage Mills is a stamping store, but they carry some scrapbook papers, such as Graphic 45. I went there a couple of months ago, so I assume they are still open, even if their focus is on stamping rather than on scrapping.

There are a couple near me but I rarely go to either one. The closest LSS still has crops and classes but their stock is pretty limited. The other one is what my friend calls 'the museum of scrapbooking'. They actually have stuff that was trendy back when I first started scrapping about 15 years ago--and they sell it at full price. They also carry items I can get at Michael's with a coupon. All in all I do much better shopping on line.

Not too many around me anymore and we used to have a lot of great independent stores. I have to drive a minimum of 45 minutes to get to anything that isn't a chain store. A new one just opened up last month (the one that's 45 minutes away with no traffic) and I'm going to have to make a point to go there every of couple months just to do my part to help keep them in business. I like seeing things in real life.

I miss having several LSS to choose from and stopping by one of them at least once a week back when I scrapped a lot. That was around 2006. There is one LSS about 15 minutes away from me that's good but not great. There are a couple more that are about an hour away but I don't make the trip very often.

Scrapbook Station in Butler, PA. It is a large, full service store. Love it.

I live in Seattle and, while there aren't any (I don't think) in city limits (unless you want to count Impress Rubber Stamps, where I do get a lot of supplies), we still have a few in the suburbs. Fewer than when I moved here eight years ago, and two of my favorites (Hip2BSquare in Snoqualmie Falls and Lifetime Memories up in Lynnwood) have been particularly hard losses, but we have some still.

There is one in my town that began over 20 years ago (I think) as a framing store. She added scrapbook and has classes and crops. I don't go there very often because it is small and feels cluttered and I can't shop that way. But I did just stop in to find one embellishment and I apparently chose a day she was having a crop because all of the movable shelving was pushed back and there were tables and people. I walked around where I could once and left.

We have a great one in my town. It's a Ben Franklin with an awesome and large scrapbook section (not all BFs have the same quality scrapbook section). The stores in WA going down into Portland, OR do something called The Northwest Paper Chase and there seems to be a good selection of stores on the list. Although I know at least two that were on the list last year have closed.

Since you're in Maryland, make a day trip up to Lancaster County, PA area - there are about 7 stores all around the county and nearby.

Not terribly far, but that's just out of the way for me now.

Mine is actually a Stamping store with Scrapbooking. Half the store is her husband's bookstore. They make their own stamps and she teaches stamping classes. It's a small town so I'm surprised the store is still there. The LSS in Trenton closed and in Belleville it's still open. I have to get a ride though for those ones so I'm for the local stamping store since she stocks the adhevsives I use at a decent price.

There used to be 3 w/in an 30 minutes of my house. All 3 have closed.
A new one opened a few years ago, but I wasn't impressed w/her customer service, so after 2 tries, I gave up.
