I don't know if there is already a thread like this. I've mentioned that I am the heaviest I've ever been and I'd like to change that.
I'm doing the No BS challenge by Corianne Crabtree and thought maybe if I also posted her, I'd have some accountability.
The first live cast starts at 10 cst but there will be recordings later.
Anyway, my plan for the week is to listen and learn. I'll start my food plan tomorrow, but today I am going to drink water and keep track of how much I drink vs how much I should drink.
That's it for today. Listen to the live cast and track my water. I can do that and tomorrow I will set another goal.
Anybody else want to say what they are doing today or this week? I know there is an exercise thread, but I'm not there yet.

I am going to jump on the weight loss train with you! Over the last few months, I have gained 15 pounds. It doesn't sound like much, but to me, it is.
I work out religiously every day, but I eat too much, drink too much wine, and not nearly enough water. My strategy is to count calories.
I have never heard of the plan you mentioned, but I am going to look it up. Honestly, I don't want to spend money on a program. I just really need to get my shit together.
Up until about a year ago, I had weekly weigh ins with a co-worker, but I've been furloughed, so we don't do that anymore. A friend from the gym took over, but she and her husband have been out of the country since December, and that's when I started to fall off the wagon. I guess I need that accountability.
Maybe with the peas' support I can shed that extra weight.
Good luck to us!!!

Honestly, I don't want to spend money on a program. I just really need to get my shit together. I've been doing No BS since September, on the recommendation of jeremysgirl. If you join the full program, there is a not-insignificant monthly fee, but everything really basically centers on getting your shit together. I have not lost much weight with it, but I have lost, and it has helped me in other parts of my life, too. I would recommend trying the free challenge. There are also a ton of other free resources available, like a podcast that is called something like "Losing 100 Pounds with Corinne Crabtree." I honestly think that had I not joined, I would have continued gaining. This has really helped me rethink a lot, and I was already pretty self-aware and introspective. So while I haven't lost as much as I'd like (some people really do, but I have some medical issues that also make me hold on to weight as well as having to take meds that cause weight gain as a side effect), I also credit it with making me NOT gain probably about 10 pounds. My recommendation is to check out the free resources at least!

I enjoyed Corinne's podcast and I did join for a time. I realized that I eat out of boredom. Basically I'm a wandering around my house grazing sort of person. And when my mental health is off, I gain and when my mental health is good, I lose. I did get off the NoBS program because I felt like, one, I had way too much chaos going on my life for a while to focus on weight loss. I have been feeling like I'm living in an ER triage situation between my kids and me for since around October. So I needed to focus there. And two, a lot of the calls and focus was on self image. There's a lot of people hating on themselves and eating to punish themselves. I am not like that and I had a really hard time relating to it and I felt like it was such a heavy focus and draining to me emotionally to listen to it. And I'm absolutely not trying to be offensive if that's the way you experience weight gain and loss. I just feel so detached from my weight as a measure of my worth or happiness, it's not the way my brain works at all. On the flip side I have a really hard time shaking off the mental stress of others. That's one thing that really trips me up about these types of things. I feel it. All of it. Even if it doesn't apply to me.
At this point I feel like my mental health is hovering around a 6 or 7. And can I live like this? I can. But I'd much rather be a consistent 9. And I know what it feels like to feel like a 9 consistently. So I'm still feeling a lag right now. So for now I'm just holding steady.

freecharlie, it is $59 a month, and if you want one of their planners that is extra. They do have a free link to a planner download (once you are a member), though, that you can print at home if you want.

I'll join! I started WW in January. I lost 5-6lbs the first ten days, but then until a few weeks ago didn't lose anything more. Lost another 1.5 then.
I've had a lot of work stress the last three weeks or so, and I think that is derailing me. I find myself not planning like I should, not tracking as much, and have gotten into the "I'll start Monday" mindset. Today I am going to do some meal planning and prep, and get back on track.

I’ll join with you. I eat when I’m anxious. So I’ve gained about 20 pounds this past year. Because I’m having eye surgery in the morning I really won’t worry about I’m eating this week. But I’ll try and start next week. Accountability is what I need!

I was always considered normal-thin until the past couple years. I was slowly gaining weight 2 yrs. ago, but the past year I gained 15-20 pds. I feel like I buy a bigger size shorts/pants, and within a month I have to donate it and buy a bigger size. I just tried on all my clothes from last summer and donated 70% of it. Stuff that was so loose last year I can't even get close to buttoning!
I have no idea why I am suddenly gaining so much weight. The biggest change is trying to give up diet soda. It's not working! I think of diet soda as a "treat" and don't eat as much junk food when I have my diet soda. But when I try to just drink water, I get "bored" and eat nonstop. I also think that age is also a reason. I know at least for my husband, he thinks it's harder to lose weight as we get older.
I will love getting ideas here and having a support group! I don't exercise as I was discouraged to learn you don't lose much weight with exercise. But once I get vaccinated I want to lift weights at the gym as I hear that helps!

After reading about No BS (then PNP) here, as well as listening to the free podcasts, I finally joined in March 2020. I've have lost 8 lbs in that (with 20 to go), but what I have gained is a better understanding of why I eat, what/who my triggers to overeat are, and a better relationship with food. I no longer look at the candy by the grocery checkout and tell myself that's it's bad, or that I'll never lose weight so I might as well have that Reese's. My thought process has changed due to No BS and I just remind myself it isn't on my plan but I can plan for it at a later date. Even better, this change in thought patterns has carried over to other parts of my life. Now I am able to stop myself and look at my thoughts more objectively. Usually I'm just being a drama queen! The program offers so much, and it's all somewhat of a buffet style. Once you finish the basic course, so much more opens up to you. There are many Self-Paced Workshops (formerly Bonus Courses) to take that have been beneficial to me. Taking Big Ass Action, Breaking Self-Sabotage, and Mastering Accountability are the ones I'm working on currently. There is a book study group that discusses a different self-help/personal improvement book each month. Subgroups include one for Women of Color, those who want to lose 100 lbs or more, those who like to exercise. You can find an accountability partner/group. There is the Facebook group. You pick what works for you. All of these course (basic and workshops) can be downloaded to use in the future if/when you leave the No BS program. I've seen Corinne tell Facebook members leaving the program to be sure and download every single thing available before their membership ends. She truly wants everyone to succeed, either in or outside the program. Personally, I do the planner (still working on consistency), watch the video replays that apply to me or I am interested in, and focus on the self-paced workshops. While I do belong to the Facebook group, I have found that it isn't really my thing, so rarely go over there now. At this point I'm not interested in joining an accountability group. The program is working for me, even if I don't do it all. Oh, and I am doing the free challenge this week as a refresher! There are lots of members doing the same. Corinne mentioned this morning that there were 15,000 signed up for the program and only about 2,000 on the live. She was pointing out that most people are doing the replays. They will be available through April 4. freecharlie, it is $59 a month, and if you want one of their planners that is extra. They do have a free link to a planner download (once you are a member), though, that you can print at home if you want. I've seen many in the group use that free planner download to have them printed/bound at an office supply store. I ended up switching to doing my planner digitally because I prefer to type vs write. Get the GoodNotes app (Apple users), import the free planner Corinne offers and you are set! There are options out there for Android users as well. There is a an Unofficial No BS Digital Planners group on Facebook where members offer up their own versions of the planner for free downloads as well. They are a helpful group if you are just getting started with digital planning. Honestly, I don't want to spend money on a program. I just really need to get my shit together. If you don't want to spend the money, sign up for this week's challenge. Then start listening to the free podcast, Losing 100 pounds with Corinne, and start at the beginning. There have been numerous members in the Facebook group who have lost a big chunk of their weight with the free podcast before even joining the program.

I have been a No BS woman since 2018...back when it was Phit n Phat. I enjoy the mind work so much that I actually belong to two other memberships that are run by coaches who trained the same place as Corinne. I find it all dovetails so nicely together. I am convinced that had it not been for No BS, I would have gained a lot of weight during Covid

I’m on the weight loss bandwagon, too. I’ve lost 6 of the 18 pandemic pounds that I’ve gained. I’m a calorie counter and that works well for me. Especially zig zagging my calories because the higher calorie days make me feel like I’m not ALWAYS dieting.

I would love to find someone with the same concepts but a different approach.

I have been plateaued for a few weeks but as of yesterday the scale started moving again.
I am using My Fitness Pal to track every calorie that goes into my mouth, and I work out with a trainer or by myself 3-5 times a week. I use my smart watch to track my exercise calories, so I can use those calories to eat a little more if I want to.
This is really the easiest thing for me to stick with. Having a trainer gives me accountability and using a calorie tracker makes it easy to stay strictly within 1200 calories a day.
I tend to fail when doing carb restriction or using color coded food groups or whatever. This way I eat anything I want, I just don't eat all of it. So I don't suffer from cravings that throw me off the wagon!
Down 13 lbs with about 14 to go. Everyone is commenting at work, which is sort of nice but then again I think I must have looked pretty dumpy before and the comments make me a little uncomfortable. Oh well, they're all meaning to be nice and supportive so I'll take it as such.
I found a pair of jeans I had to set aside a year ago and they fit great again. It's hard to get into the weight loss mindset, I only felt moved because this is the last year in my 40s and I didn't want to hit 50 feeling uncomfortable in my own body. I love exercise so that's not an issue, but watching my diet is another story. I eat so much sushi now, glad I've developed a taste for raw tuna rolls!
I have a very slow metabolism and it's been like almost 80 days or some nonsense like that to just get down these 13 lbs but I'm definitely stronger and leaner and I'm not quitting yet.

It's fabulous for your mental health and it gets you to weight loss goals faster if you are watching your calories. And it sculpts your body. I do weights with my trainer and then put a few miles on the treadmill or the bike path if I have time that day.

I’ve also been in Corinne’s program since it was Phit n Phat. It’s helped me so much. I really wish I’d learned all this in my younger years. I was lucky enough to go to Nashville for her last live camp in 2019. I made some really special friends from that and we still stay in touch. Three of the women have lost over 100 pounds with the program and are have kept it off even through covid. I don’t listen to many calls. I prefer the courses. I like to listen during my morning chores.

A couple years ago the Omada program was offered through our insurance and I signed up. One of the very first things they said you should do is take about 15 minutes after buying groceries to wash and prep produce. Keep fruit in a bowl on the counter or put things at the front of the fridge so you'd see it right away. Buy bags of frozen veggies and use them as an easy side dish. I still do this. The program also has you weigh yourself every single day. I still do that too. I've kept off the 20 pounds I lost.

I snacked way too much this past year. I am a stress eater.
More water. Smaller Portions Healthier food choices. More movement. More walking. Less sitting.

Anybody else want to say what they are doing today or this week? I know there is an exercise thread, but I'm not there yet. I'm not quite there yet with the exercise, but I hope to get out walking more now that it's warmer out. I've spent most of this year trying to improve my diet in terms of avoiding the sugar and watching my portion sizes, and I lost a few pounds, but I'm not doing as well as I could be doing. I went on a jelly bean binge about a week ago and need to not do that again. Like ever.

I'm working through the Omada program through my health insurance. I had lost about 9 lbs over two months. With that said, last week, I was at my parents' house and... it's just been bad. Really bad.
I am terrified to get on the scale. Today I ate 'ok', and walked on the treadmill (almost dying in the process-- it felt like it had been forever). Tomorrow I am back at work, and hopefully back on track. I have lunches made for the week, and a meal plan. Now I just need to curtail snacking (my biggest problem) and keep trying to develop an exercise habit.
We ordered a bike and have it all set up. Problem is that I cannot log into it (the iFit program). I am feeling so frustrated that I can't try out the bike programs and that we have a useless bike. This is what happens when dh buys the cheapest bike he can find (it is a ProForm-- and maybe it's ok, but right now I want to take a hammer to it).

I started Intermittent Fasting (IF) June 30, 2020, after reading Gin Stephens book "Fast.Feast.Repeat." Game changer! I was always tiny, had my triplets, got tiny again but then the 40s hit, peri-menopause, menopause, etc., and I have yo-yo'd for 15 years. Every diet I have done, I lose and gain back. Then with menopause nothing would get the weight off until I read Gin's book. I had tried IF before but it didn't work. I needed to understand it all in the way she explains it. I needed her "fast start" section. NOW I get it. Now I am successful. I have lost 35 lbs. I am good where I am but would really like to lose 10 lbs. more. What I LOVE about IF is that it's so easy, and because I make wise choices during my window, I eat better. I open my window around Noon everyday, and close it at 6 p.m. each day. During that time I choose foods that keep me full. My doctor has been very happy. She said it can be successful for many people but not for some because some eat the same number of calories during their window that they would have eaten if they weren't doing IF. I wanted something I could do for life. Something that didn't require counting anything. Something easy. This is definitely a lifestyle not a diet for me. It's easy, I am successful, and I LOVE it.
