I still haven't received my Harmony blanket kit and I've lost my knitting mojo Thank you! They're the style I used to make years ago and I felt like revisiting the big patterns and inked edges. 3 of my well-loved sponge ink pads have perished in the making of them. I've had those for 13-odd years so they don't owe me anything. I'm lots better, thank you! Every few days I notice an improvement, then the following day I'm not so good again, but in general it's 3 steps forward, 1 back, so definitely getting there. My oncologists' appointment is in one week. How long ago did you put the order in? I'm so glad to hear that you're doing so well
My order was dispatched on the 11th of March, I usually receive stuff within a week so this is very unusual.

Well that's strange. Have you called them? Apologies if I've missed that you have.

Ugh - after spending HOURS on this basket border I have reached the end and the weaving pattern doesn't match up. Also, the piece of reed broke so I've got to figure out how to work in a new piece - which isn't easy here at the end. I'm so discouraged...

jennifercw there's nothing worse than getting to the end of a big project and not being happy with how it turned out. I'm sorry.

I'm making progress on the temp quilt top for my daughter. It's currently in 5 big chunks. I need to do some straight line stitching for the raw edge appliqué of the holiday markers. Trying to wrap my head around the binding. I'm such a lazy quilter. I usually just get the double fold bias binding and sandwich the quilt in it and sew both sides at the same time. I want to do this one with a scrappy binding from the left overs of the front. I want it to be 1/2" on the front AND 1/2" on the back. Mathematically it seems that I need 3" (1.5"x2) wide strips to do this but for some reason I'm finding people saying 2" and 2.5". So.. yeah.... I still need to make the back. I used the Cricut Maker from school to cut shapes. It's really fun and so easy! OMG! Had to order more steam a seam stuff so I can make the rest of the parts I need to cut before I take the Maker back to work next week. I can totally cut the fabric at school if I need/want to. No biggie there. Anyway.... crafting away over spring break.

jennifercw I can imagine your disappointment. It still looks good but I know it’s not as you hoped. Could you weave a small decoration to fix over that part to hide it? Was it you who showed us woven snowflakes around Christmas time? I’m thinking an interesting woven shape or maybe a group of leather flowers maybe? Leather rather than something pretty-pretty iyswim!

RedSquirrelUK- WOW! What beautiful cards! I love them all but the embossed dripping white ones are cool. I have never seen that type of effect before. Great job!

jeremysgirl - This is one of the risks when I don't have a pattern and make up a basket as I go along. Things don't always go according to plan. Well sometimes it doesn't go according to plan even when I have a pattern... gillyp - An embellishment is a great idea but unfortunately this section of the basket is on one of the short ends near the corner so not a great spot. I think when I figure out how to get everything joined up it will be disguised a lot better than it is now - and won't be terribly noticeable in the corner so at least there's that. If I have to, I'll use a little wood glue, even though that's a big no-no in basket weaving. I think I just need to put it down for tonight and come back to it with fresh eyes tomorrow. seaexplore - Thanks!

Let me see if I can get a photo today. I am still in March on it but it's beautiful. As it get's bigger, it's hard to get a good photo. I can't imagine trying to get a photo when it has 365 squares! LOL!

This is all the parts laid out. It’s in 5 large pieces right now. My steam a seam should be here today and I can finish my appliqué on like 10 blocks and then sew them all together. I’m keeping it in pieces right now so I can sew it easier. . I need to add the black Kona all the way around too. Hopefully I can completely finish the top this week. 😁 Eta: the floor tiles are 20” squares. This quilt is HUGE! Attachments:

I'm not too worried about the pattern being too hard. I haven't yet met a pattern where I had to use a video. I think the hardest part would be picking the colors. There's where I would be totally challenged.

My good friend wound all my yarn for my vacation next week. I'm taking the Waroo shawl to make next week while I lounge on the beach. And she gave me a swift! Now I just need a ball winder and I can finally wind my own yarn. Yay! Still waiting on my package from Wool Warehouse though.

While I can read patterns and have been reading them since I was 12 years old, I MUCH prefer a video now if there is one. I am a visual learner so I love to find videos if they are available.

You don't get the 'yarn cakes' like in your photo, but you can wind neat balls. I looked on YouTube for 'how to' videos when I was at my sister's house for a month, with no access to my tools.

What?? This is crazy talk. With so many yarn crafts patterns out there, surely there's something to challenge you?? You both knit and crochet. There's a ton of new things out there.
