Another Money Grab? WWTPS

The part that really rubs me the wrong way is her suggestion that people should give up their Starbucks this week and to send that money to her son. Meanwhile, she didn’t give up getting her highlights 6 days ago. Find a way to help your son without panhandling from strangers!

ETA: oh and if she can afford to go to Hawaii next week she should be able to pay for his knives! #grifters

Hmm, give money to an affluent family whose son’s tools were stolen, or donate to my local food pantry, feeding children that are literally starving? The lack of self awareness in these people is mind boggling.

The Starbucks thing is a popular shaming tactic that I find enraging. Can we have a little judgement-free treat every now and then? Stop it!

Wouldn't contents insurance cover this... Here in NZ,that's why we have insurance. If you're an employee with tools of the trade, your employer may cover that.

She’ll be laughing all the way to Hawaii next week! I’m so disgusted with these upper middle class panhandlers asking for money from their followers that most likely have much less. She probably saw how much Lizzie received & decided to give it a go. I wonder if her ADULT son, Max will be joining her on their trip to Hawaii. He probably needs some relaxation time because his knives were stolen. Maybe we should help fund his trip! We could all give up Starbucks for a year to make this happen! #griftersgonnagrift

Mine would be absolutely mortified. 
Does this son have a history of issues / differences. Maybe I'd feel otherwise in that case?

My oldest ( a few years younger) is taking a very independent path, despite his degree, and he struggled making the decisions in the beginning. Young adults have struggles, or maybe should, in order to learn! It's because of this, my son will find a way to overcome obstacles, and grow from experiences. Not expect to be bailed out by his mommy's followers while she goes on a trip. We make a point to remind him we are here - his family - not the internet.

Gennifer, kudos to you knowing these peeps and publicly speaking your mind. 

first- disgusting money grab, and if you are a full-grown adult person with a job that requires expensive tools, then you NEED to keep them safe, and have them insured.

I'm just starting to read this thread, and read the Instagram comments... we'll see if I come across ANY that are anything besides 'ohmygosh, how can I help?' (which is all it's been so far.)  But I just posted 'I feel bad for your son; I hope he had insurance on them!'   We'll see how long my comment stays up there, or if I get flamed by other commenters for it.  



ETA:  does Max have mental health issues?  what's the connection between his knives / job and his mental health??  am I missing some backstory?

I truly have no words. Except that some people (Margie) should be so embarrassed.

This is so gross. I wish reporting her money grab as fraud/spam would work on instagram but alas it probably won't do anything. I guess it can't hurt to try.

Lord. I just went to read her comments on the initial post, there was one just 2 hours ago asking about donating and MRA's repsonse was "Goal has been reached but venmo info is in the post".

So, basically she is going to keep collecting donations as long as people are willing to donate. Disgusting. She also said she would not do GFM because they take fees. Although I bet it has a LOT more to do with the fact that everyone can see exactly how much money was donated that way. Much easier to get extra cash lining your pockets this way.
