I saw it. It was the best comment and as I went to like it, she turned off comments.
Not such a thick skin when she is called out!
Ironically she posted this quote on her facebook page a couple months ago:
"Be happy with what you have, while working for what you want" -Helen Keller
Unless you can grift from others

LOL! Are you jo.buttons? That comment is the best! ETA: she will be up all night deleting negative comments on her IG. I may have to start another account just to post something in the middle of the night. LOL Yep, but I am guessing it was deleted. I can no longer see her page. Congratulations! You made her turn off the comments on that post! LOL

Way back she worked for Making Memories, when she was fired she started Girls Paperie, then Authentique, but lately I think she just does overpriced retreats and classes called “Spark”. She is also the first one I remember who CONSTANTLY posted feet photos. well that ruins authentique I don’t think she is with them anymore. She was with Bazzil after that, iirc. She moved around a lot after being cut from MM.

"I know cut and colors are not cheap. You have to look your best for your upcoming trip to Hawaii." Oh Zeus, the "cut" reference. You went in knives out, Skellinton , and it's a thing of beauty (and hilarity). Thank you for that gif, I was pretty much giggling to myself just like that when I was typing. I do crack myself up.

You beat me to it. I was saving that gif for her Hawaii trip. S'okay, I have an "Aloha bitches" gif lined up, too. Skellinton The gift of self-giggle is not to be underestimated. Like shit, yes, I am a funny one. Take that, world!

Can your adult child perhaps lose a piece of luggage containing their uninsured livelihood? Got Insta? Got Starbucks boss babes following? Alright, you're all set. Cue the pathos and the terrible spelling, you got this! PS: don't forget the hashtags #helpmehelpmyadultchild #helpmekeepgoingtothehairdresser #helpmekeepgoingtohawaii #mahalo #jesustakethebackpack #godisgood #starbucks

She turned off comments now. What a coward. Cue the “I had to turn off comments because people are being unkind post.” Cue Kristina Werner and Jen McGuire YouTubes on "the need for kindness". Yeah, we need kindness. ESPECIALLY FOR THE POOR. Let's start there?!? Mkay?

She turned off comments now. What a coward. If there was no shame in that post she wouldn't have had to do that. How dare people question her!!

No way. Now, in addition to needing an Instagram account for Everyday Explorers releases, I may also need it to follow this drama. I can’t even imagine asking people for money from the same account that I posted my house in Hawaii. Yowzers.

We unexpectedly had MAJOR vet bills this fall/winter. A friend offered to host an online auction for us and I couldn’t say no fast enough. There are other people much more in need. So I did what I needed to do- looked around the house and started selling stuff on marketplace and eBay. Months later we are still chipping away at the credit card bill but I’m still hustling but it will be paid in full. I can’t imagine being 30 years old and not being able to figure out how to make $1000 in a relatively short amount of time.

Oh geez I’m so stupid. Really such missed opportunities.
I’m supporting my own young adults during the pandemic. Did I mention that one has anxiety? I’m paying my own vet bills. I made my DD buy her shop furniture off FB marketplace for 1/10th the price.
Maybe if I crowd fund this stuff I can get that vacation house. I guess I’m going about this all wrong.

Thanks for the laughs today - you all are hilarious! If anyone is in a giving mood, I'd appreciate any donations toward the $5000 bill DH and I had from when we replaced the boiler system in my retired, disabled mother's home last fall so she wouldn't freeze to death over the winter. Apparently I'm not smart enough to have asked for donations instead of sucking it up and pulling money from our emergency fund.
Joking aside, in the interest of fairness, MRA doesn't live in the $725,000 house in Farmington anymore - she lives in North Salt Lake in a house Zillow values at $521,000. And the house in Hawaii was Grant's mother's house that he (and probably any siblings he has) inherited when she died last year. So they're not quite as privileged as we thought (but still way more privileged than most.)

So they're not quite as privileged as we thought (but still way more privileged than most.) His dad is still alive, so I’m sure the house is his. He’s the one that built an empire. Regardless, if my father-in-law was a multi-millionaire and had a second home in Kauai, and we were able to live there for months out of the year, I would certainly consider myself privileged. Privileged enough to help my children buy knives, especially if I was already providing a home. Also, for the record, the unemployment rate in Utah is sitting at about 3%, which is less than half of the national average. He’s unemployed by choice.

Omgosh, what a bunch of fun to come back to on this thread lol! 😂 🤣
She really did turn off the comments on the last 3 posts lol. Wow. Sucks to have people lay some reality down I guess.
Seriously, so many of these idiots live in a bubble. Zero idea what actual life and struggles are.

This reminds me of a Facebook "friend", I worked with her husband who was great then his wife Friended me on Facebook. 2 years ago she posted asking for money so her 17 year old daughter could take a trip to Paris (not school or church affiliated) because her daughter should be able to have that experience. Meanwhile there are constant posts about them eating out at nice restaurants, concerts and day trips, getting a new car, then a few weeks later the family in Florida at Disney World, Universal Studios, etc.
These people have no self awareness... you don't flaunt yourself spending on luxuries (and living better than I do...LOL) while asking for money. I have to admit that I smiled when I saw her Go Fund Me only raised $50, I assume others felt like I did.

So they're not quite as privileged as we thought (but still way more privileged than most.) I will confess I was confused with her request. I’ve seen the Kauai house on her feed displaying her trips, etc and I thought she was wealthy. At first I thought maybe this is a Mormon thing to do, to help out your community but now her community is huge with/because of social media. She has helped Lizzie and was (or seemed like she was) also super involved with Whippycake’s children’s auction so maybe it is cultural. Then I thought chef rolls must be insanely expensive. (Not really, there are many price points and like with every tool if the most important thing is to get back to work, you start with what you can afford and build back to where you were) Then, as a mom, I realized maybe she want to help her child (i would), but also there must be a lesson somewhere for said child. Said (grown) child should, for sure, do something about this loss and not rely on his parents. It still doesn’t make sense to me, but she has a tribe that has her back, maybe because she has had their back too? The scrapbooking community (cz, jennifer mcguire, et al are tight like that).
