I'm just curious to know about regional patterns following the CDC's revamped guidelines. I'm in Northern Virginia in the heart of the bluest of the blue counties... Since the CDC relaxed the mask guidelines I've been to Costco, Target, Petsmart, CVS, the library (open for holds pickup only), two different doctor's offices, Home Depot, the grocery store, and a garden center. All except the doctor's offices were this week. In every single place I see everyone wearing a mask, except for a couple of isolated people. Today in Target dd and I passed a mom and a pre-teen girl, neither wearing masks. Later we passed them again in another aisle and the girl had put on a mask. Not sure if she felt peer pressure from everyone else, lol. And in Costco there was one guy with no mask. I still see a lot of people walking along the street in busy areas and wearing a mask, although there are more without masks than there used to be since they are outside. I just find it interesting. And I'm curious to know if you live in an area that was very mask compliant before the new guidelines and what people are doing now? Personally I'm going to keep wearing mine at least until younger children can be vaccinated. And who knows... I had NO colds last year so I may just wear the mask all the way through until next spring.

Very few... maybe 5%. Our state mask mandate ended in early April, and mask-wearing immediately dropped to maybe half. (At its best over the last year, I would say only 3 out of 4 people wore a mask; we never had great compliance.)
My husband, older teens, and I are all fully vaccinated, and have just stopped wearing them within the last week. My two younger ones have their first shot, so they still wear masks inside public places.
We’re in a very red state, Utah.

As you recall, the Texas governor released everyone from mask mandate a few weeks ago. However the stores I visit still say "use a mask" and the majority of the people are wearing masks. I anticipate each day will bring a smaller number wearing masks. I wear them although I am vaccinated because I don't know about the other person.
ETA: I went to Target this morning (May 29th) To my surprise everyone I saw--everyone--was wearing a mask. Restores my faith in humanity.

We still have a mask mandate until June 15th, so inside of stores, pretty much everyone is wearing a mask. All employees still have masks on, even in the drive through windows. I did see, early on when the CDC recommendations first changed, a couple of people going into stores without masks. They weren't stopped. I hate how all this makes the low waged employees have to play mask police. Just wear that mask for two more weeks and don't give the employees a hard time for doing their job!
Outdoors is more mixed, depending on the situation. You see a few people walking outside with masks, but most people don't wear mask outdoors.

I’m urban, near the center of the city, so densely populated. Outdoors, when on the main drag in my neighborhood, many people are masking. Less so in the parks, walking trails, and side streets in the neighborhood. My mask is mostly off outdoors.
Indoors I haven’t noticed an unmasked person yet. And I’m happy to continue to mask up until employees of a business unmask themselves. If I was to be around children not old enough to be vaccinated yet, I would also mask up 100%.

We are in a red area. As of last week, only 35% of people that could be vaccinated, were. Dh and I are vaccinated but continue to wear masks and take precautions, at our doctors ask us to (asthma and cardiac issues).
Grocery shopping today, maybe 5 out of 50 were masked. We will continue to be cautious due to the low rate. Very disappointing.

AS of midnight we do not have to wear masks or social distance. My waitress at lunch had a mask. I went to Dollar Tree and one employee had a mask. I'm guessing they are not vaccinated yet.

I would say about 90%. Still those maskholes who go into stores and shops without one.
Majority of people wear them in restaurants until they eat.
Our mask mandate is lifted June 15th.

Or are high risk with PPID/CVID or a high risk person at home. Dd still has to be very careful even though she is fully vaccinated. CVID patients are between 60 and 70% for immunity. She will have a screen soon to see where she falls. Not every gets 94%+ immunity.

I only wear my mask outdoors when the walking trails are busy. Other than that it is off but I carry it. After I get to my vehicle, it comes off to load groceries.

I’m in the suburbs of the DFW area of Texas.
Not many.
I posted in another thread that I went into Target yesterday and it was my first time in there when none of the employees were wearing masks.
The only store I know of here that still “requires” instead of “recommends” masks is a small, independently owned comic/game store.
Restaurants and stores just don’t require them anymore.
Museums do, so we wear them there.
No one here ever wore masks outside. Not when walking down the street, at the park, at little league games, on walking trails. I literally never saw a person with a mask on outside.

I'd say about half or a little more. In in MI (a little south of Flint).
DD is still wearing hers everywhere except when sitting and eating in a restaurant. Dh and I thought we would be comfortable not wearing them but for now we just keep wearing them as some places say you have to wear them still and others say only if vaccinated, but sometimes it's not clearly posted. We just put them on when we are getting out of the car and then well, might as well just keep them on.
ETA we've never worn them outside except walking in and out of businesses or in crowded areas in business districts. Most places we go outside (park, neighborhood walks, walking around our small town etc) you can easily be far away from people.

Most of them, but we have a county wide mandate that doesn't expire until Tuesday. Then I expect it will be very few, as most restrictions will fall away.
My office is requiring people back in at least 50% of their hours starting Tuesday.

In WA state/Olympia area mask wearers are still the majority. I saw a couple of older women without one today at Walmart but everyone else I saw had masks on.

I'm in Massachusetts. Right now everyone; however our mask mandate is lifted starting tomorrow. so we'll see.
I work at a preschool and I am required to wear a mask at work through the end of the school year.

We'll wear them in restaurants but have been skipping them in the store. We've always given people the wide berth as much as possible and try to go to the stores at slow times.

Not really sure. But it’s pretty obvious the percentage not wearing one is substantially higher than our vax rate. Yay for the honor system in a society clearly lacking any. I almost wish I was still in college taking sociology. The sociology aspects of this in real time, would’ve been a fascinating study.
In North Dakota, mask compliance, especially during our fall/winter surge and after it was mandated was reasonably good, for a red state.

Indoors, almost everyone is still masked. Outdoors... more than half, I guess, are still masked?
Compliance in the subway (where masks are still mandated) has dropped from the 100% it was for most of the last year - now, I usually see one or two in the car without a mask. Makes me steaming mad!

Oregon - everyone is still wearing masks indoors. Outdoors, not so much. But that’s been the case for a while.

I'm in Eastern WA and our mask mandate for those fully vaccinated was lifted on May 13 by the Governor. Some stores are still encouraging masks if you are not fully vaccinated. Most people I see are following those guidelines.
I am happily taking my mask off on Saturday which will be my deadline of "two weeks past my vaccination" guideline. I can't wait! I am following the protocols set by the CDC and my governor and refuse to feel any way about it other than very happy! I know I will still have to mask at my Physical Therapy appointments and dentist appointment. My next haircut in July I will get to be mask free as both my hairdresser and I have been vaxed and she is in a separate space from everyone else. Yippee!!!

Still those maskholes who go into stores and shops without one. Guess I am a maskhole. Nearly no one is wearing a mask in my area. I don't go out much, but anywhere I have been, there have been almost no one with a mask on. My county is currently at zero cases, and the 7 day average is also at zero.

Red area in Ohio - about 50% in stores, employees are still 100% wearing masks. Of the places I’ve been this week, only Meijer and Kroger habe signs saying fully vaccinated people do not have to wear masks, so I didn’t! Some stores still had “masks required” signs, so I wore one in those places.

I'm near Dallas and still see a lot of masking, at least 90% in any store I've been in lately. (Target, Costco, Walmart, Sprouts etc)

In my neighborhood, a residential part of NYC, everyone seems to still be wearing masks even when they are walking in pretty quiet streets. It has made me feel likeI should keep mine on too. Yes, peer pressure. But the other day I saw a couple of people with their noses sticking out from above their masks inside a store which I never used to see! I plan to wear mine indoors for a while. I have been fully vaxed since March.

Not many. We all still do in our family even though all but me are fully vaccinated. I was supposed to get the second dose yesterday but cancelled because it's the day before hs graduation for my daughter. The school kept changing the date, so I kept rescheduling.
We had pretty good mask usage last Nov.- March (about 50% wore masks correctly). But about 30% wear masks now. I love wearing a mask, so I will keep wearing one even two weeks after second dose (whenever that will be).
