Hello Linda , AussieMeg , schroema , angel97701 , shinyhappytina , jeremysgirl , ComplicatedLady , christinec68 , boymom5 , gramma , and justjac welcome to the June teams! I'm coming off a month of absolutely no mojo but there is something about a fresh new month that lights a spark and gives me hope I'll get some scrapping done. I haven't scrapped chronologically for years, and I have no rhyme or reason to my scrapping. Lately I'm feeling the urge to get "caught up" at least with the past couple of years, which seems strange to me since I let that go idea go long ago lol. I'm looking forward to actually meeting some of the challenges posted and hopefully catching up in Shimelle's class. I hope everyone has a creative, productive month! ETA if you have anything you want to work on this month, post it as a challenge. That way you get some points right off the bat! Unless you are like me, post challenges and then never get to scrapping much lol.

Good morning! My DH is going away on a week long camping trip tomorrow afternoon. I am looking forward to some down time to myself to scrap. I may just completely tune out the world on Saturday and Sunday and craft all by myself.

I haven't scrapped since iNSD and I'm not sure how productive a team mate I'll be this month - hoping the mojo returns AND there's time to take advantage of it

I’m hoping for a productive month also but will be making memories instead of recording them the first part of the month. jeremysgirl my son and DH are going to camp the first week in July and I am planning to just scrap as much as possible that week! Enjoy!

I am not sure how productive I will be this month . . . the month started with some pretty extreme trauma for the family due to DS15 disabilities. He's been bullied and extorted for $200 at school since 5/27 by a fellow teammate on the wrestling team. DS finally reported it to me on 6/1. I've had to contact numerous adults at the school. We FINALLY have services and a Personal Support Worker through the I/DD services. But DS is resistant and that was an hour long melt down before he acquiesced and said the PSW could go on the bike ride with him. So we did make progress. This is a service I will not let him refuse, because it is for the entire family (mom dad ds) It will include independence building skills, fun times, and respite for DH and myself. My mojo is no where to be found . . . . the garden is calling, and my obligations to care for DS and transport during this belated wrestling season are my priorities. Oh and to top it off, DH left Tuesday night for at least 2 weeks on a business trip for flight testing, and other related consulting contracts. Please pray that I make it through this time without more conflict, stress, and issues with DS15. Thanks!

Oh angel97701 I hope this two weeks goes by quickly and without a lot of upheaval. I'm so sorry it's been so challenging lately. schroema enjoy your weekend! You're doing both Shimelle's and AD classes aren't you? Their styles are different that my brain can't work on them at the same time so I'm working through Shimelle's first. And someday I will get around to the AD classes. Both of them, since I signed up for her last one and didn't finish it lol. jeremysgirl, enjoy your me time! I hope you spend it doing whatever feels good for you christinec68 I have LOTS of newish supplies - seems like my whole stash is newish since I haven't broken into most of it. I'll have some fresh photos this weekend that will hopefully breath new life into my mojo. Not a lot of free time for me this weekend. DGS (6) is testing for his yellow belt today. This will be my first time seeing him in action at Karate. And DS2's birthday tomorrow. So hopefully I pull the camera out often. I've been terrible about taking pictures lately. Between those two things, and working a few hours today and weekend household duties, I feel like the weekend is already gone. boo.

Prayers for you angel97701 My weekend is off to a slow start. And that's a good thing. Feels good to give my mind and body a break. I should rack up a lot of other crafts points this month as I'm going full steam ahead on some crochet projects. I ran this morning too after three weeks off. Felt good. I am planning to pull my supplies out into the dining room this afternoon and get to work a bit.

I haven't spent much time lately crafting as my focus has been on decluttering the house, planning our next school year and some time with the kids. The past two months I've just kept up with our 2021 PL style which is great, but I want to catch up on other years past. I'm hoping I can this month. I spent the morning mowing hte lawn and now I'm enjoying the AC and cleaning up the craft room in hopes I'll get inspired when looking through supplies! DH will ne working the next two nights so I'll be crafting!
I think I'm going to work on reorganizing all my embellishments this month. Right now they are organized in photo cases by color, but that isn't work 100% for me. I may pull out specific themes I scrap often and put them together so they are easier to find. How do you organize them?

I keep mine with the collection until I've used enough of it up. After that they go in iris cases all by type. I have been putting my die cuts into notebooks ala Janet from RTS. I'm using them more often since it's so easy to flip through and see what I have.

Oh geez, the weekend is flying and I haven’t spent a minute of it crafting. Maybe later…I cleared my work papers off my desk Friday night so I just need to pull out scrappy goodness. Today I have a hair appointment and need to do a few things around the house so I should be able to dive in a little later.

Exhausted by parenting FASD son who is lashing out at me, which is typical for adopted kiddos. No mojo to craft, need to find it soon. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers. Last night was a nightmare. Amounst other things he shouted obscenities at me, jammed the lock to our master bedroom. Broke the lock on his bathroom door, claimed I was on drugs, his dad was on drugs, that we are the ones lying. Heartbroken doesn't even begin to describe how I am doing right not. No mojo to craft, need to find it soon. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers

No mojo to craft, need to find it soon. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers I am so sorry. As a parent with incredibly challenging kids, my heart goes out to you. I know just how stressful that kind of stuff can be. My oldest DD has schizo-effective bipolar disorder. When she is off her meds, she often thinks I am out to get her too. She yells and screams at times. I'm so grateful that right now, she is on her meds and seems to be happy for the first time in a very long time. My youngest DD (formerly DS, he has come out as transgender) just got released this week from a psychiatric facility following the worst suicide attempt yet. I am right up her butt lately because she lives out of my house and I'm trying to make sure that she doesn't do it again. I spent two weeks bedside in the hospital with her before the transfer. It was so stressful, it brought on a manic episode for me one day. I am working so hard to carve out craft time for myself because it is the only thing that makes me calm and gives me a reprieve from my worries. Please take time for yourself before you crack too. Hugs.

I am really having fun with pocket pages. It was a switch this year for me. And I find I am documenting all the little things that I was completely overlooking in the past. I have shared some pages on the June sharing thread. One thing that has been conducive to scrapping for me is that I pulled out my things onto my dining room table. It is so nice to be able to just walk by and arrange photos and whatnot and be able to leave things out so I can continue to work my job at my craft room desk. Of course, my DH is gone right now and I don't have any little kids to interfere so it has been easier for me to just leave things and come back to them as I choose.

angel97701 I have no words of wisdom but lots of love and hugs for you. Please take care of yourself through this. @jeremeysgirl I'm glad you are enjoying the pocket pages, I'll have to hop over to the sharing thread and take a look. I think about switching all the time, but it feels overwhelming at times to think about switching. But I take mostly everyday moment pictures the past few years and those types of photos just seem better suited for pocket pages. Maybe, maybe I will get some scrapping tomorrow. I hope so it's been quite awhile since I've really scrapped. Dang job lol. My niece and I are having a virtual planning session for WE Create. It's in September but I really want to be organized and ready for it. If I don't start now I will just throw stuff in my bad willy-nilly and not have what I want to finish a single page lol. Then DGS is sleeping over tonight. We've got pizza and movies lined up for tonight and chocolate waffles with chocolate milk for breakfast tomorrow. That's the best part of being a grandma lol. I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

This past week was super rough! MDS has been acting out so much the past month and we can't figure out what has contributed to the change other than our switch in routine (school has been over since the beginning of May). But this week was even worse and I have just been exhausted. I told DH last night I needed the day off, so he's had the kids all day while I've been in my craft room. I've been more relaxed and got 8 pages done today! I'm working on our 2016 album since I'm waiting for an order to continue with my 2021 album. It's been nice to have extended crafting time!

But I take mostly everyday moment pictures the past few years and those types of photos just seem better suited for pocket pages. I agree and this is a strong reason why I made the switch. I still did two traditional layouts this month, though. I plan to just stick them inbetween my monthly pocket pages. This past week was super rough! But this week was even worse and I have just been exhausted. I'm sorry about this. I'm so glad you got time to craft though. Are you homeschooling? My friend Wendy is coming over on Saturday to scrapbook with me. I'm pretty excited as she is the only friend I have anymore that scrapbooks and it will be nice to sit and chat with someone while we work.

angel97701 I’m praying for your family. I’m hoping things smooth out soon. joyfulnana yes I am doing both classes. I think I’m equally behind in both of them! Lol. I’ve actually enjoyed doing them at the same time. AD is closer to my normal style so it’s been interesting to see the two styles bleed into one another on my pages. boymom5 my chipboard is all in an iris case and all my other embellishments (brads, flowers etc) are in another. Most of them are in their original packaging. I keep thinking about reorganizing them but not sure how I’d want to do it. joyfulnana what do you use to attach the diecuts to the notebook? jeremysgirl praying for you and your family. I am finding it pays to leave photos out on my desk so like you said, you can walk by and tinker with it. It’s motivating me to keep my desk area cleaned up so there’s room to leave a page in progress out on it. We spent last week in Hawaii and it was a wonderful getaway. I could almost forget about COVID and all the craziness of the past year. I’m hoping there’s a challenge for scrappy spending this month bc I’ve made two purchases this week for scrapping this trip. And my preorder from SG is on its way to me so I’m going to be getting lots of new goodies to work with soon.

schroema - glad you had a wonderful vacation - that'll be a great trip to scrapbook, Hawaii is so beautiful! I got caught up on downloading photos from our family FB chat and sorting into digital folders. Also dealt with my last photo order (sorted into page protectors by layout). Now I'm trying to get DS's album caught up before he comes home on leave. I did three layouts last night - five to go and then I need to place a photo order for the last layouts. That'll be today's project

I've gotten caught up through the end of April in DS's album (at least for 2021). I've ordered the late May/early June photos (he was in Boston for 6 weeks helping with a FEMA vax site but he hasn't sent me all of those pics yet and depending on how many, they may be a separate album).
So I've gone back to where I left off in June 2019 to play catchup...Hopefully I can keep the momentum going - I need to finish June-Dec 2019 and then the beginning of 2020 (pre-pandemic - I've scrapped the rest). I'm probably biting off more than I can accomplish but I would love to have that all caught up by the time he's home on leave...we're counting the days.

Oh dear, I haven't been a very good team member this month, I haven't popped in to chat at all. I'm sorry to read of the difficulties a few of you are having. I really hope things start improving for you all, and that you're able to take some time for yourselves. I mentioned on another thread that I finally got around to getting my MacBook fixed. It was very expensive, so now I am handling it with kid gloves. (Where does that phrase come from anyway?) I am enjoying the freedom of being able to scrap on my MacBook wherever I want, instead of being tethered to my PC, which doesn't run Photoshop very well anyway. Linda, Dusty is soooooooo cute!!

Thank you AussieMeg handle with kid gloves comes from the 17-1800s and kid gloves were made with baby goat (later lamb) skin. They weren't very durable but they were very soft. The idiom came into play in the mid 1800s to mean handling someone/something gingerly or carefully (so as not to ruin the expensive, fragile gloves)

so now I am handling it with kid gloves. (Where does that phrase come from anyway?) I always think about how kids actually handle things. You may as well consider it broken. handle with kid gloves comes from the 17-1800s and kid gloves were made with baby goat (later lamb) skin. They weren't very durable but they were very soft. The idiom came into play in the mid 1800s to mean handling someone/something gingerly or carefully (so as not to ruin the expensive, fragile gloves) This makes sense. Thank you for the explanation. I need to clean my house after work today. It's messy and I'm having company tomorrow. But I get most of the day to just play with scrappy things tomorrow. More pocket pages are in my future.
