Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday, according to this BBC report. The Queen has been known as Lilibet within family circles for her entire life, so it is a lovely but different way of using her name for their baby. |

I’m a bit surprised after how publicly they’ve disparaged the queen’s family. Yeah, I have to agree with this. The Diana isn't a surprise, but I am surprised that one of the names wasn't some acknowledgement of Meghan/her side of the family. Plus I was sort of expecting an "M" name because of the story about her watch. Lilibet is a little "nickname-y" for my taste, but she'll probably be the only Lilibet in her class! Glad to hear the baby is safely here and all are well. |

They have a lot more latitude in naming their children than William and Catherine did, as they are so far removed from the line a succession. |

Desperately trying to make sure they stay in the Queens's good books (and her will) before she dies - despite the hurt they must have caused her by denigrating the Royal Family as a whole repeatedly over the last few months.
But that name sure will come in handy to make money from over the next few years.

I recently read an article speculating on what Harry and Meghan would name their little girl. In the article Harry met a little girl at an event and said he liked her name and asked how she spelled it. Her name was Lily. They also had a similar example with Megan commenting that she liked a little girls name she was meeting. I thought the article was really stretching in their speculation but it sounds like they were correct at least in part.
