DD who had an ectopic pregnancy last summer is about 10 weeks along with an early pregnancy. She started bleeding this morning and is waiting for a callback from her OB. I advised her to go to ER because I'm a mama hen. She's on a trip so she's reluctant to go but almost having a meltdown. This is hard to watch and wait from afar.
Update: All is well! She finally got to meet with her OB and get the report on the ultrasound. Baby is measuring on track and has a strong heartbeat. Happy dance! Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!

I don't blame you! Prayers and positive thoughts for your DD. Let's hope that she gets checked out & that it's nothing. Maybe they'll tell her to take it easier and play it very safe.

Thank you Peas, still worrying away. Her OB called back and after a few questions said she could come in tomorrow for an ultrasound. Her flight is early in the morning. Unless it gets worse, then she could go to the ER. I wish she didn't felt hindered from going, even for peace of mind or a beginning to answers.

Did they give her any advice to follow until she goes in tomorrow? It was recommended to me to rest (bed/couch), take it easy, and not lift anything over 5 (or maybe 10 pounds) until I could get in. It wouldn’t hurt for her to get assistance with her luggage. I won’t venture to guess why she is spotting but I hope it makes you feel better to know that it is possible to be something that is not a threat to the pregnancy. Though I’m sure you just want that confirmed...yesterday. (((Hugs)))

I’m so sorry. I’ll say prayers that everything is fine. I know it will be a long, long wait until she sees her OB.

I am so sorry. I was about as far along as she is when I had a miscarriage after years of trying. I too was out of town when I started spotting. I have often wondered if I had went to the ER if the outcome would have been different. Dh had said to the doctor we should have went to the ER and she said that this early they probably wouldn’t have been able to do anything. However, I still 13 years later wonder if it would have changed the outcome.

They were supposed to be house hunting, but I said her DH could go alone or they could call it off. She's gone quiet for now so I'm hoping she may be taking a nap.

I have often wondered if I had went to the ER if the outcome would have been different. Dh had said to the doctor we should have went to the ER and she said that this early they probably wouldn’t have been able to do anything. My OB always said no ER for the first trimester with spotting/light bleeding. I too thought the same thing with my miscarriages. But there isn't anything an ER can do to save a pregnancy that early along, and if there is no hemorrhaging it's not life threatening. If someone has signs of an ectopic pregnancy that would be different.
ETA: prayed!

I can only begin to imagine how if feels to wonder what, if anything, could've changed the outcome. I really worry after last summer's loss, which was incredibly tough, how she may process another loss.

I'm so sorry for all the stress and worry. I just wanted to say that I had a miscarriage and in my subsequent pregnancy started spotting right around that time frame - my daughter is now 19. I know how terrifying it can be - but it's very common - something like a quarter of healthy, normal pregnancies include spotting during first trimester. I'm praying for her.

casii prayers and good thoughts for your dd. If she is O- she may want to head to the ER. I bled several times during my pregnancy with ds and each time I had to get the Rhogram shot as I am O-. The earliest was about 10 or 11 weeks and I got it then.
