Happy Friday. Today the window guy is coming to mil's house to measure windows. In the afternoon I'm going to take her to the hairdresser. Other than that dh will be doing more sorting in the basement. I'm working on a puzzle here. Dinner is takeout Chinese for dh.
What's on your menu?
Can someone please start the thread on Monday? I was just scheduled w/one of my pain management surgeons for the pre-op appt for removal of one of the devices that Bulgie mowed down. Then I have to drive to another part of my region to meet with the Bulgie removal squad (surgical consult). I'll be out early to the big city and gone most of the day. It's summer already. Ask yourself this, Bulgie: Do you feel lucky? Ok, I'll stop quoting Clint Eastwood and I'll shut up now.
teddyw , how are you feeling today? Rest, Ice and relaxation. Youch.
Wishing everyone a happy weekend. Do something that you really enjoy this weekend. Make it a happy one.

I'd be happy to start the thread on Monday scrapmaven. You just take care of yourself and don't worry about us here. teddyw I read your post this morning and all I have to say is OUCH! I hope you're feeling a bit better this morning. Today I'm having a slow day. But I've sent everything out into the world that I need sent back to me to begin my big summer project. So things should heat up here shortly. Tonight's dinner will be some kind of takeout. I can't be bothered with cooking tonight.

I started early this morning, getting out of bed and off for my walk within 15 minutes. Normally, I shower, then walk, but I decided today to switch it around, mainly as I had a gyno appointment and wanted to be properly fresh for that. I ended up waiting an hour for my appointment - I knew it was going to be a bit of a wait when I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled time and there were four people already in the waiting room. One nice thing - for the first time in ages, we actually sat at the same desk for our chat before the exam, rather than doing it via video. Everything is good, and I am now down to six-monthly appointments with her and annual mammograms. I will still be on medication for another two years, but overall things are going well. After that was done, I went shopping at the inner city market - I had to change trains near there anyway and there is a fabulous fishmonger I like to visit when I can. I bought their seafood mix, and will make a spaghetti sauce from that. Just a few stalls along is another stall that sells good fresh pasta, so I also picked up some tagliatelle, so dinner will be easy. I’m just waiting for DH to give me some indication of when to expect him home to get started. It’s nearly 6pm on a Friday, so I don’t expect him to be much longer.

Just got a text that the furniture will be delivered in the next 30 minutes! So excited. We've been plotting out where it should be in the room. It's like a body for a TV show ~ red ribbons delineating the space. Haven't decided on dinner yet. TGIF!!

I'm baaaack ! Had a great time with my sons and family. Felt like time just flew by while I was there. Travel coming back with AA was a nightmare. Our first flight back was cancelled and had to take a last minute midnight flight or would have to be stuck there another 3 days. We rush to airport to catch that flight only to find that our connecting flight had been cancelled as well. We had a 10 hour layover before we made it back home. To top it off our luggage got lost but will be delivered by AA when it's located. After all that..."There is no place like home"
For dinner we are going out to our favorite diner.

scrapmaven Bulgie is about to meet his maker...just sayin. Will be glad when you are on the other side of this friend. Let us know how the pre ops go. I have a petty first world whine. This weekend I planned to get the last of my planting done in the backyard and the front yard and power wash the patio and chair cushions. I love spending time on the patio, even when it gets this hot, it's still enjoyable just for a shorter amount of time. I also have a mister system all the way around the covered patio and two outdoor fans. Then on Sunday is a planned pool day at my friends. And the weather men had to go a eff it all up. From this Saturday to next next Saturday every damn day now has thunderstorms in the forecast. Bastards. I have no idea what will be for dinner tonight. Possibly meeting friends, possibly eating mac & cheese in my PJS. 🤷♀️

It’s going to be very warm for us today. I am making ribs and leftover chicken from yesterday. We ate some last night and decided it was delicious. BFF loved it. I also got her a dulce de leche cheesecake. It was what she wanted.

It's raining out there right now.

First if all, seeing the date in thread title, 6/25, how the hell did that happen so fast!? Woke up with a bit of head and body aches (storm brewing) so I took Tylenol and I've already took a nap, which is rare. Feel better now but my get up and go, got up and went. I do plan on getting some painting (hope chest or barn quilt stars or whatever) but we'll see. Dinner tonight will be fish fry from local restaurant. DS insisted on buying Chinese for both of us the other day so I suggested we get fish fry Friday, on me, as he has a rare Friday off. Fish fry? He's in! Now just waiting on the rain to relieve the pressure in my head. Have a great day or I'd not, hope it gets better soon. 💜 PolarGreen12 by the sound of my post, you know today Mac n cheese in PJs would get my vote. 🤣 #lazybumday ETA 108...holy hell! Damn near literally.

But it needs to understand that Sat and Sundays should equal no rain. It can do it Monday through Thursday. And then it's cut off.

We would kill for some rain here. We've had 3 brush fires within a few miles of us this past week. Our fire department is awesome and responded so quickly no homes were in danger. And we're not even into the official fire season yet.

I've just rescued my succulents from my deck because they will all be drowned by the time this is over. I like a good rainy day about once a week. It just makes for a good excuse to snuggle inside for a day. But 10 days worth is really pushing it.

You aren't experiencing weird things in Wisconsin? We had a week of over 90 degree temperatures in early June here in Michigan. On our side of the lake, the water levels are so high, beaches are eroding and houses are falling in the lake. And then 10 days of rain seems a bit extreme too. I'm just saying, weird things seem to be happening everywhere as far as weather goes.

It's just the literally life-threatening, in your face ones that capture my attention and fear. After reading here I admit I did check weather 10 day forecast and nothing extreme coming, in near future anyway.

PolarGreen12, that absolutely sucks rocks. My vote would be dinner w/friends tonight for some fun and distraction and jammie night w/mac and cheese tmw. We're gonna watch Nobody, tmw night. (Bob Odenkirk goes batshit.) You might enjoy it, because it's a thriller. Wish we could watch together. We'd probably have a blast. PLurker, I'm sorry that your body is predicting the weather today. Ugh. Hope the rain starts so that you feel better quickly. Welcome back @brklyngal62. Sounds like a great trip followed by a horrible trip home. Lost luggage isn't always a bad thing on this end. AA will do all of the schlepping. Too bad they can't unpack, do laundry and put it all away.

It's just the literally life-threatening, in your face ones that capture my attention and fear. I get that. We're lucky here too because we can deal with extreme weather without it being dangerous. Except for a rare tornado. Ice storms are pretty yucky too.

I am headed to a friend's house to play euchre! So dinner is a grilled chicken salad (we all contributed). I miss euchre SO MUCH!! We played all the time growing up, age 16 was when you were allowed to play in the family tournaments at holidays! We had up to 4 tables playing. So much fun and fond memories. It has been quite a few years since I have played. Maybe you, me and jeremysgirl should get together with another pea and play! Would be great! SO and daughter are heading out to get daughters little sister (7) to spend the weekend with us. This should be interesting! SO asked about what if her mom finds out...I said I really don't care She lost any ability to say anything when she went to rehab (she is still there now). Dinner will most likely be take out and age 7 apporpriate , then we head over to daughter's cousins for birthday cake, she turns 15.

Although extreme weather and crazy experiences in movies always/often seem to choose Wisconsin for the place the sh!t goes down, my kids like to pont out. The one that I can think of offhand is in "2012" when the world is going to hell and people are heading to arks, the whole global shift puts the new north (or south?) pole in Wisconsin. I'm sure it's like seeing your new car brand everywhere all of a sudden, but yeah, kids love to point out if it's not Florida with the crazy, it's here. 😂

bklyngal62, what a nightmare! I agree, always good to get home and sleep in your own bed. We returned a couple days ago from our Utah trip. It was full of adventure. We left two days after dd's graduation party. Lots of planning and work but it was so nice. I was exhausted after our trip so haven't been on board much. Grad things to pack away, grocery shop, plan meals now instead of going out, and laundry. Dh has surgery next Wednesday to remove his prostate. His psa is so high, the doctor suspects he may have cancer seeding elsewhere, despite clear scans. Time will tell. He's nervous. scrapmaven, oh it'll be so nice to have bulgie evicted once and for all. Getting closer. I'm making a baked chicken/wild rice dish in oven that has peas, carrots, and water chestnuts in it. I also made a lemon raspberry torte. We'll also have a side salad.

teddyw, ouch! We hiked the narrows in Zion National Park and I have a deep gash on my shin from running into a rock. Hurt like hell. Not much I could do with a 0.5 mile hike yet in the river and another one mile on paved trail back to shuttle bus. I did have a coban wrap, in case of a sprain, that I covered it with to stop bleeding. I feel your pain. Are you falling because of dizziness, off balanced, or weak? Might warrant further investigation.
