Oh my good gravy! It has taken me over 2 hours to do one short, incredibly simple row. I just could not get the count right and kept getting too many over at the end of the row. After putting it in time out for a while AND undoing 3" of the whole lot (not as dramatic as it sounds, mosaic crochet means only needing to frog the ends of the rows) I took stitch markers out and started planning the pattern from the centre outwards. It was only then that I noticed what I thought was identical spacing between the repeating motifs was not identical but had an extra two stitches per repeat. GAH! I hadn't needed to frog at all! Double GAH!! Note to self - don't make assumptions.
I need a coffee.

I've done absolutely no crochet since Saturday. I've been just so busy with work and then I spent two nights putting together a travelers notebook for my camping trip last fall. That was fun. I also had a manic episode on Sunday and I feel it coming today too. I'm trying all I can to relax this morning and see if I can calm it down. That really upsets everything because I can't manage to do anything. I'm hoping for a slow weekend to crochet this weekend. And I will most likely continue to clean up my craft room. I'm trying to do a purge in there of my scrapbook stuff. I've been working at it little by little this week.

I have added an extra motif repeat so thought I had miscalculated there but the initial border worked out correctly so if I had miscalculated the error would have been bigger. Still, it's sorted now and hopefully I can purr along with out any more mishaps. I'm sorry you are having a rough time at the moment. Would the getting back to the workplace have brought it on? I hope you start to feel much better very soon.

If I didn't know I was going to have a slow day today combined with a mountain of laundry I would absolutely have gone in. My mania is irrational. I took the morning off because I could feel it coming today. I'm feeling much better and will be working shortly. I think I've just been a natural high this week and that's what got me feeling it this morning.

I have made a few adjustments to the pattern so this is not exact. But here is the first section of my skulls blanket.

I made a folder for my daughter to use at school this year. DS has a really old (like 30+ years old) sand filled gecko that is leaking sand so I made him a new one. My awesome DH made me a quilting clapper out of cherry wood with a teak handle. All out of scrap fabric. The bonus is that it stores on my machine deck under the cover!

seaexplore what a bunch of cuteness. Those pyjamas on your son! I need a set like that. When Ds was losing teeth I had tried to get the "gold coins" as well, because no way was I leaving $5 or more like his classmates were getting. I couldn't get one for his first tooth, so I ended up making origami with a dollar bill. He loved it! He saved them all and displayed them on a shelf in his room. When he got old enough to walk to In N Out Burger with friends, he used his tooth fairy money to by lunch. He was so annoyed the first time, because they made him unfold the money. 😁

What a sweet story about your DS. I can imagine being annoyed at having to unfold them. He had saved them for so long so carefully!

He couldn't figure out why the cashier wasn't taking them and replacing them with "plain" money of their own. His friend once admonished one cashier for not at least showing her co-workers the creations. He regrets not saving them. I figure one day I will surprise him and remake them. What a brilliant costume!

Crocheters, I have a quick question. I'm making my first garment, an easy, blocky cardigan. I am ready to attach the front pieces to the back, then I'll work on the sleeves. Do you block pieces before attaching them, or after the entire sweater is put together? Thank you x 100!

Thank you and I have no idea about whether it actually needs to be blocked. I've been blocking everything else I've made, so I assumed I should do so with the cardi as well.
